I was told by my roofer that I had termites. He recommended Dead Bug Edwards. I called them for an estimate. A woman came who climbed into the attic, even got on a ladder outside to look at the area where the roofer said we had termites. Plus I had black dust coming up from the wood floor in a bedroom. Flying termites are one of the reasons I hate Florida. Give me western NC any day. No hurricanes and termites up there are Subterranean. Termite protection consists of baits in the ground. No food worries, no poison indoors, no leaving your home for the treatment. But down here you have those flying bastards so you have to tent :) Having said that....... The negative reviews certainly are interesting. We have used this company at least three times I was involved with, and probably more with my parents homes over the years. Many years I might add. So far we have never experienced any issues. I mean.........unless you call a gutter splash guard being bent, or a door lock re-installed backwards......stupid stuff like that which I easily corrected.........no issues at all. I will tell you one thing. If you wait until termite season to call, good luck. Even though we were previous customers I was told last spring that tenting was a few months out. So we waited until late 2020 and put our home on the schedule for February. In addition..........it rained like hell the morning they showed up. I mean really bad for hours. The team just sat it out in their trucks and then got the job started. How many people do that? These folks have a couple of generations of family working, so they have a vested interest in maintaining good customer service. I highly recommend them. read more

The owner of the company is a great guy who came over to do the termite inspection himself. He found no termites but also told me he would send Gabriel from his office to check the attic as well. Now most companies would be hesitant during a free inspection to go up in a hot attic in late August to check for termites but Gabriel made a thorough check in the attic; he must have been up there for more than 20 minutes, not once complaining of the heat. Glad to hear his report that there was no evidence of termites up in attic either. While up there he found evidence of an animal up there and showed me photos. Yikes, now I need The Critter Guys but I will definitely keep their card and call if anything changes or to recommend Dead Bug Edwards to a friend. Thank you! read more

Although they did a good job tenting, they place you on an annual maintenance contract and make it very difficult to pay and communicate. I have 12 properties and they always send the renewal to the wrong location. If they send e-mails, it has nothing written but invoice attached. Most people would not open a random nondescript e-mail and attachment like this. Then you miss the date because very few people in this world have the dates engrained in memory. Once missed, the receptionist will say its cancelled. If you ask to speak with the manager it will take days and in most cases she will not even pass your information along for a call back. Poor customer service and a concerted effort to cancel older maintenance contracts..... not good. read more

They came promptly and were thorough. Looked throughout the house. I had not seen any evidence of termites, but did not tell them that. An inspection report said we had WDO and I needed to know if we had termites. The gentleman told us he found NO SIGNS of the critters. Thank God for honest people and honest companies. read more

When it was time to tent our house I asked neighbors who they had used. Several said Dead Bug Edwards. I got 3 quotes from the recommended companies, and Dead Bug Edwards' quote was the best by far. I was worried about going with the lowest quote, but their team was professional, returned phone calls, showed up when they said they would, and kept in touch during the whole process. We had two properties treated by DBE. I was satisfied with their service and communication and was able to quickly treat both properties due to cancellations. I thought the tented and fumigation was done professionally and expertly. However, in BOTH properties household items were either damaged or mishandled. Items on a table were just dumped on the floor other items were damaged by rough handling. We stupidly had a delivery come to the house (the tenting was last minute and we overlooked the shipment) and has gone missing. In fairness, I can't hold DBE accountable but fits a pattern. I would use them again but wouild be sure to protect all valuables and breakable items. read more

I had the same experience as Dave F. It took more than one phone call to their office to have the quote man call me to make an appointment, which took weeks. After I received the quote, I called him to schedule a time to go ahead and have my property tented and he never returned my call. I decided to go elsewhere, if they are so difficult to return calls to make a sale and do the work, it can't be any better if there is an issue after you hire them. Tenting was effective. However, I signed a contract on Thursday afternoon for tenting to be done on Monday morning. We moved out of our house to a hotel, as instructed, but they didn't show up to do the work! And, they didn't even have me on the schedule that week, at all. They finally came out to tent on Wednesday. What a crew! Quick, efficient, no damage to the house by their crew. Every individual I dealt with treated me with respect and listened to what I had to say. From the foreman to the individuals on his crew. DBE has it down! I highly recommend using their services. A note of advice not related to DBE, always keep a watchful eye on your home when it is under the tent. Consider a guard, or notify the police it will be tented. I called them about an estimate to have my house tented. Even though they had tented my house two years ago, they could not give me a price over the phone. They said that someone would contact me. No one ever called back. I called again since I had been happy with their service in the past. No one ever called back again. It appears that this company is no longer being run in a business like manner. On February 4th, 2019, our development was tented by Dead Bug Edwards. The experience was horrible to say the least. The workers entered my unit and rearranged my refrigerator, rearranged my pantry, used my bathroom and urinated on my toilet seat, used my sink to wash their hands leaving it black and used my white towels leaving them black from the filth on their hands. Needless to say that was not part of the agreement that was pased on to any of the unit owners. We were told the workers would simply enter our individual units and make sure everything was covered and walk out. I took before and after photographs and once the tenting was completed, this horrible mess came to light after inspecting my unit. I contacted Dead Bug Edwards on Friday, February 8th, 2019 at 1055 am to relay my complaint. I spoke with Katrina who assured me she would pass my message on to the owner, Jeff Edwards, to contact me to address the issues. As of February 16th, 2019, no one has called. I can only say beware to whomever it is that makes a decision to hire this company. This is a horrible business practice and please do your research before making any concrete decisions. read more

I've long heard good things about Dead Bug Edwards. When we needed termite treatment, I called them. A rep called me and left a message. I called him back and left him a message. Then I never heard another thing for about two weeks. I finally called them again because, as I said, I've heard good things and I figured this was just a fluke. He did call me back and schedule a visit. He was on time for the visit as scheduled. I was away due to business but, as planned, my pet sitter was there and he was able to do an evaluation. He promised to email me the results and an estimate for treatment. That was 9 days ago. I've not heard a thing. I guess DBE is good only if you keep after them to do their job. Really disappointed because I was hugely disappointed with one of the national chains in termite control and I was hoping this local company would come through. Just tented the house and the DBE did a great job putting the tent up. The entire crew did a great job making sure the seal was tight to the ground. 24 hrs later, they took it down and woman (Stacey) came and walked the house to make sure things were safe for our family to return. I own a Duplex in Oaklandpark 33334. I hired Dead Bug Edwards to Fumigate it. Local, Family owned and operated, no subcontracting right.( BIG MISTAKE ). I should of seen the RED FLAG when their inspector estimater did no inspection but just went with what we told him. What we were told by another company who actually suited up and went into attic. He just moved the attic access stuck his head up through for less than a minute. That's all. Well there was a Down Pour of rain that afternoon the tent did not allow the water from the rain to shed off roof. In other words the tent dammed it up water pooled on roof, the weight of it, collapsing my porch roof. Witnessed by my neighbor. The tent was blowing off across driveway when they were setting it up. They broke several roof tiles chasing after the tent. They really had no business doing it that day given the forecast. Guess they just wanted the almighty $$. Owner was all apologetic blaiming rain. He said he reshot the gas now not so sure if I believe him. Tent was off by noon the next day. It was my understanding it was supposed to be 24 hours. Also lied to there insurance company telling them cause of collapse was termite damage. Any evidence of termites was no where near the collapsed roof. Turned in a claim with their insurance ( WHAT A JOKE ) month and a half later DENIED. $5,000.00 damage out of my pocket. SIgned waiver BUYER BEWARE. read more
