Sure, they were super salesy, and yeah they definitely don't clean beneath machines. But it was fair. And the cost was reasonable and it was easy to check in and there was always plenty of sanitizer, paper towels, and equipment available. When they became Esporta the negatives got a lot more negative and the positives declined. I think my biggest irritation is the sign in process. Our membership includes a buddy pass. So we pay for my husband to go, and he can bring a guest...ME. LA Fitness had my photo so when my husband scanned in, I too popped up and was granted access. Well, Esporta makes me sign in each time with an associate. They ask for my name, email, and phone. This is annoying when you're trying to make it for a class. It's also annoying when it's eating into your 30 minutes allotted for a workout. But it's mostly annoying when they call you multiple times a month to try to sell you a membership.... We have had to tell (beg) them multiple times to stop calling. We are very happy with the buddy pass. I'm obsessed with my husband okay? The idea of me going to the gym without him just ain't gunna happen. All in all I'm pretty new to gyms. I went a handful of times in college because it was included in my 40,000 dollar tuition, but beyond that this is a first for me. As far as equipment and space goes I do believe it's pretty solid. The facility includes a spin room, basketball court, pool, and big locker rooms with showers. There's tons of free weights, multiple cables, and there's a room dedicated for classes like yoga. It recently opened up the childcare area again too. And the personal trainers are super cool.

I will never go back here. I have never had such an unpleasant experience at a gym before ever. When I went in early to use the pass and workout, the man at the front desk was incredibly rude and gave me a hard time. I was honestly appalled that they would have someone with that attitude working the front desk. If they want to try to get new members to join, they might want to think about having someone nicer and more approachable working the front desk. Absolutely awful.

SPENGA with Caitlin Anderson…read more I loved everything about this class! Having our names on the lockers was such a thoughtful touch. Caitlin was an amazing instructor who made us feel comfortable while encouraging us to push ourselves. The studio was clean and organized, and everyone was so welcoming and supportive. My favorite part is that the one-hour class is broken into three 20-minute segments: cycling, circuit-style strength training, and yoga. There were definitely moments when I wanted to give up, but the energy and encouragement in the room kept me going. I left feeling strong, energized, and amazing. As first-timers, my friend and I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

I was drawn to the diversity of exercises in their signature SPENGA class (spinning, strength, and…read moreyoga), so I went to try it out. The people at check in and my instructor Liliana were all very friendly, and the energy in the class was amazing and motivating. You can do the spinning and strength exercises at your own pace without judgement, and Liliana provided several modifications for exercises too. The only minor things I would point out would be that when the instructor would say "5 seconds left" or "10 seconds" it didn't actually mean 5 or 10 seconds and was usually longer than that, sometimes based on the beats in the song, and when you are pushing yourself and getting tired, it can be misleading because you think you're done but you're not. But it could be perceived as a good challenge depending how you think of it. I was also disappointed that my name didn't appear on the screen like everyone else's did, so I couldn't see if I was meeting my fitness goals. I thought it was interesting that the people in the class as well as the instructors were all white women (except for one man who was also trying out the class for the first time), and people tended to stay within their groups. Overall though it was a nice workout with a variety of exercises, so you won't be bored. The music was great, and being around other people working hard will keep you motivated.
