Every workout with him is challenging and changing so you don't plateau and boredom is never an issue. You will feel the burn but forget you are exercising because he makes every training fun! The martial arts training that he has and uses in his training is unique and keeps things interesting! We have done boxing, kickboxing, resistance workouts and weight training. Coach Mark helped fit the training around my lifestyle I'm a nurse but I also have an acting career so already very busy and still wanting to add tris to my lifestyle for the workout component that's more challenging than the average gym life - so it didn't jar my job or time w family and I was able to be motivated and have a good balance of life and work and training. I still feel robust as a triathlete but not neurotic or stressed. Hah. He was able to cut the fat that goes into the learning curve of training and so I jumped straight into knowing what gear to get, how and where to get sized with my bike, how to pace myself at the beginning of each event, and the biggest take aways we're creating my own race plans and race reports so everything was clear from the brand of nutrition I was eating in the bike to the cadence on the run and specifically for boulder how to accommodate for the altitude... there was no ahh we'll see how I feel. I reunited with Jared about a month ago to sign on for his "Three Weeks to a New You" program. I had gotten out of the habit of getting regular physical exercise and knew I needed to do something to prevent the exacerbation of my Stay Puff Marshmallow Man physique. Jared's approach of making gradual lifestyle changes to both my activity level and eating habits gave me a feeling of "I can do this". Before I even saw Jared I started making it a point to eat a small meal every three hours as I had morphed into a grazer of white flour and sugar products after receiving my mother's cancer diagnosis. I knew that exercise and proper nutrition would elevate my serotonins and therefore allow me to get through this crisis with some sort of sanity. I have decided to add on some additional sessions with Jared's assistant Christine to make sure my physical activity becomes a permanent part of my new lifestyle routine.

I first met JoAnn 6 or 7 years ago when she was getting her Pilates certification. She offered to…read moretrain me for free while she was putting in the hours, and I got hooked! I continued to have sessions with her 2-4 times a month for several years. This is personal training at it's best, people. JoAnn was great at understanding my personal needs and we would talk about what we wanted to accomplish before each workout - cardio, upper body, or just a good overall ass-kicking, which Pilates is great for. I also shared sessions with a friend for a while (called "duets") and even though there were two of us, JoAnn still took the time to make sure we were both comfortable yet challenged. I've been to other Pilates studios and am always shocked/concerned when I sometimes see people not taking the time to explain proper form or how to modify in case you have back/knee issues etc. You CAN, like with any physical endeavor, hurts yourself if you do not know what you are doing, and since Pilates is a little strange and foreign at first it is SO important to find someone to lead you through the exercises carefully and with proper form and modifications. I'm so glad I had my intro to Pilates with JoAnn - I feel like her training really has allowed her to help me as well as her other clients to work safely and strongly to their fullest potential.
