Engine house 25 is an old fire station that is also home to the Clemente museum. Wines can be ordered online for either store pickup or shipped to your home. I needed a basic Riesling wine for an event. I placed my order online and parked in their lot nearby to pick it up. You need to ring the buzzer at the entrance of the Clemente museum in during operating hours in order to pick it up. The man who greeted me found my order and while waiting for it got a fast glimpse of this wonderful museum dedicated to a Pittsburgh Pirate legend. All the wines are corked and labeled with their trademark or depending upon brand with the number or image of Roberto Clemente. I took my wine home, refrigerated it and once I uncorked it was able to sample some of its sweet goodness. The wine had a fruity taste to it and was indeed worth savoring. I'm grateful for the opportunity to purchase quality wine with good service and dedication to both an historic landmark and a notable Pirate player. Located on the cusp of Lawrenceville on Penn Ave, they have their own parking lot.

Well, the website said that their kitchen was open when we got there the bartender let us know that it was in fact not open and that it was only beverage service. That was a slight disappointment to us as we probably would've hung out later if we could've been able to get food. I did a flight and tried the honey, the apple, the kilted barrel cast, and the Wapsie. Overall, I thought they were all pretty decent. The kilted definitely has a lot of peak and drinks very closely to a scotch. The honey one for me was my favorite and I ended up buying a bottle to bring home. My husband got an old-fashioned made with the Wapsie. He enjoyed it but liked it even more after the ice melted a bit. We were a little surprised that they close so early on a Monday but they close even earlier on Sundays so highly recommend that you pay attention to the operating hours if you're planning to visit.

My friend bought some glassware to put in her daughter's hope chest and a couple other little trinkets. I bought a bottle of the elderberry pie wine and 2 of the most beautiful hand-painted wine glasses that have sunflowers on them for a co-workers birthday present (if I remember to, then I'll update my review later on with a picture of them because I forgot to take one before they were wrapped up). I was also very tempted to buy the long-stemmed, colorful wine glasses in the photo I did take of one of the stemware areas, but didn't want to risk breaking them on our way back home since they seemed more fragile. As soon as I entered the store, an employee kindly greeted me, and she explained that the driest wines are on the top shelves and the sweetest wines are on the bottom shelves. My husband and I enjoy sweet wines, so that information helped me. I chose a bottle of grape-strawberry wine, and the employee offered me a few mini cups of that semi-sweet flavor and other, sweeter flavors to taste-test. They all tasted sweet and delicious. I purchased the grape-strawberry bottle of wine for $21. The employee put the bottle inside a bag and thanked me. I think that this store also sells some olive oils and packaged chocolates.
