I love Wine and I love Hog's Head so I knew we had to go. I remember reading an article in the paper prior regarding the opening of Hog Dog so I was excited to give them a try! The delightful owner was at a booth with some of his signature flavors: tomato, cherry, pomegranate and more. Everything was amazing! So unique and worth the visit. He makes the more traditional flavors as well, but I think he has something going with a lot of these off-the-wall flavors. Best thing about the business is him. You can tell he is a genuine Pittsburgh guy so has a true love for the craft of wine making. This is a hobby turned into a business and you can see that just by speaking with him. His creativity totally shows! I've yet to visit the actual winery due to limited hours, but I'm excited to pick up a few bottles!

When you first walk in, it isn't 100% clear which way to go (although any of the ways ultimately lead you into the main church room). I had never been, so I asked the person behind the bar about the history of the winery and the space. It turns out he is the owner so he had a lot of information to give. I learned about the founding of the winery, the old space up the road, the renovations to the church space and their wine production (like where they get their grapes). I ended up sampling four different wines before I settled on the glass that I chose. There are a variety of seating options, including some with a more lounge feel (couches on what used to be the altar). I visited on a Thursday night and it was fairly quiet. They were offering a chicken parmesan meal that sounded (and looked) delicious, but I had already eaten. During Lent, they have seafood specials on Friday nights. In addition to wine, they also had beer, cider and mixed drinks as options. This would be a great place for a date night or a girls night out. I'll definitely be back!

For dinner, I got the salmon special with a white wine sauce over a bed of chickpea ragù, and I seriously could not stop eating it. So flavorful and perfectly cooked. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was INSANE -- rich, fresh, creamy, and you could immediately tell the Alfredo sauce was homemade and made fresh to order... definitely not from a jar. Soooo good! One of the best parts was the chef personally making rounds to check on guests and get feedback. Every table seemed to have nothing but positive things to say. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing experience. We already can't wait to go back. Make this a must-try ASAP!

The Vinoski Cabernet Sauvignon was quite delicious, nothing like the majority of wines served in Pennsylvania wineries with the notable exception of BellaTerra, which we also enjoy quite a lot. Vinoski has a beautiful patio and balcony for entertainment, you can reserve tables on the patio and outside food is welcome. We ended up purchasing four bottles of the Cabernet, two to take with us. The photos give a brief idea of the size of the crowd, but the hill sides were both packed. The music was outstanding, and the atmosphere perfect for a summer evening. This place is the exact opposite of narcissi, and that we felt very welcome. Highly recommend
