The crème de la crème is Omaggio. This full-bodied red wine is excellent. For our meal we enjoyed their complimentary bread and dipping sauce. This is very good but I do not recommend buying a bottle as it will do bad and it isn't overly special. I had the VEAL TORTELLONI; I would order this again. It was ground veal tortelloni, heirloom tomato, caramelized onion, spinach, and a creamy cacio e pepe sauce. Again, both my wife and I felt this meal was excellent. My wife had the CHICKEN & BURRATA ALLA VODKA. This was very good but the Veal Tortelloni was better. Service was excellent and they have a backup generator, which is nice as both times we have come severe weather hit us. Dessert was both Tiramisu and NUTELLA CREAM PIE. Both were delicious and portions were large. My only knock is service is very slow. When we waited for dessert it was around 20 mins and it was another 20 mins to get our check and pay the bill.

I bought a bottle of the elderberry pie wine and 2 of the most beautiful hand-painted wine glasses that have sunflowers on them for a co-workers birthday present (if I remember to, then I'll update my review later on with a picture of them because I forgot to take one before they were wrapped up). I was also very tempted to buy the long-stemmed, colorful wine glasses in the photo I did take of one of the stemware areas, but didn't want to risk breaking them on our way back home since they seemed more fragile. I definitely recommend stopping in here for a delicious glass of wine and to browse for holiday gifts!

We were warmly greeted by Todd and Gina, the owners, who couldn't have been friendlier. Todd told us all about their wines, including the awards they've won, especially in California, and generously offered us the chance to try any of the wines at no cost. We started with the Gruner Veltliner, a bright, citrusy, and crisp wine. It was extremely dry compared to other Gruners we've had, which are usually more fruit-forward, but it was still quite enjoyable. Next, we tried the Riesling, which was also very good. My wife moved over to the semi-sweet side and tried the Traminette, which I eventually sampled after trying all the dry wines. We both really liked it. I then tried the Cabernet Franc, which was a medium-bodied wine with notes of raspberry, blueberry, and a light mocha oakiness--delicious! The Chambourcin was also quite good, without the typical bite or tartness. Lastly, the Flagship Red, a classic Bordeaux-style dry red, had a pleasant hint of pepper and was definitely a standout. Todd shared that they exclusively offer wines from Stony Run Vineyards in Breinigsville, PA, which has a wide selection. They're also planning to offer Old Fashioneds soon, as their winery includes a distillery, and they'll be featuring a "drink of the week" as well. What really sets this place apart, though, is Todd and Gina themselves. They're genuinely kind people who are dedicated to the community, and it was heartwarming to learn that they both served in the US Military--Todd in the Navy and Gina in the Air Force. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're in the area again. Don't forget to thank them for their service when you stop by!

As I passed by this boisterous street, I looked up, saw the wine bar, paused, and walked in without a second thought. I easily grabbed a seat at the bar and the folks working were so nice and friendly! I was there solo and they didn't treat me any differently than larger groups, which I so appreciated. I tried the rose and loved it so much that I bought a bottle to go. Brought it back home and indulged! If I'm ever in Pittsburgh again (which I will be), I know I'll be stopping back here.

It sells a variety of dry and sweet wines (e.g., red, white, rose, sparkling, and cider), cocktails, mocktails, and beers. Some vineyards are on the grounds as are many barrels and bottles of wines. The restaurant has both indoor seating and seasonal outdoor seating in lakeside cabanas and winter igloos. It is open for brunch/lunch and dinner. It is a nice setting for daily dining as well as special events such as weddings, bridal and baby showers, and private parties. Furthermore, the website lists activities such as bingo, painting and candle-making classes, live music with dancing, and more. For my husband and me, I made a reservation for lunch in an igloo. Our igloo was large enough to fit eight people and cost $50 plus foods and drinks. A larger "party dome" fits up to 14 people and has a fee of $75. The temperatures outside were very cold, but our igloo was kept warm by an electric fireplace and a zippered door. Throughout our meal, our waitress provided timely and friendly service. The Bistro menu listed shareables (e.g., pretzel sticks and charcuterie board), several smash burgers, several flatbreads, mains (e.g., fish and chips, cajun chicken pasta, and quinoa bowl), several salads, several handhelds (e.g., turkey melt, veggie wrap, and Italian panini), many sides, and a couple of desserts. Prices were moderate. (The menus for Sunday Brunch and a group Gathering differ.) The waitress first brought our Sweet Wine-Cookie Flight (4.5 stars), which consisted of the following pairs: Diamond Reo with Brown Sugar Pop Tart, Sweet Finley with Chocolate Salted Caramel, Riesling with Cookies and Cream, and Rose Cider with Strawberry Crunch. The wine glasses came in a wooden box, which was slightly too small, so I needed several minutes of time to carefully pull each wine glass out of the box. I, however, did enjoy the sweet flavors of the wines and cookies. Next our waitress brought out our shareable and two mains. The Hummus Plate (4.5 stars) consisted of fresh and tasty hummus, feta, olives, top seedz crackers, tomatoes, cucumbers, green and red peppers, carrots, celery, and tzatziki. My main course was Crab Cakes (4 stars) with a substituted side of salad. Two crab cakes were a decent size of 4 ounces each, but I would have preferred more crab meat. I liked the garlic aioli. My husband's main course was the Cali Burger (4 stars) with a side of fries. In a brioche bun, a beef patty was topped with fontina cheese, applewood-smoked bacon (which he would prefer be crispier), avocado, avocado ranch, lettuce, and pickles (which he commented were nicely crunchy and sweet-sour) (no tomato at his request). The total price for the flight, shareable, two mains, and a soda was $98 plus sales tax and tip (plus the earlier $50 fee for the igloo).

After sampling several, I settled on a glass of the playhouse red blend and one of their specials - a grilled cheese and tomato bisque. The soup was creamy and delicious and the grilled cheese comfort food perfection. Food came out fairly quickly and my server was attentive to my needs without being pushy.
