The pulled pork was wonderfully smoked. Dinner platters include two sides and Texas toast.

Hog Wild is a regional BBQ chain with a dozen and a half restaurants spread between Wichita and Council Bluffs, IA--plus an outlier in Phoenix. It covers the basics without pretension: brisket, pork, ribs (pork), sausage, chicken, ham and turkey. This is fast food BBQ--order at the counter, pick up at the counter after just enough time to get your drink. However, the speediness is just another plus for Hog Wild. The pulled pork was perfectly smoked and not overly sauced with the restaurant's mild and sweet sauce. Mild and hot sauces were on tables. The pork had a nice balance of tender inside meat and chewier, crispier outside meat. Two sides and Texas toast completed the dinner plate. When asked if the slaw was vinegar or cream based an employee replied it was sweet. I ordered it anyway. It turned out to have a cream dressing that wasn't sweet. In fact, the slaw had no taste except that of chopped cabbage. A little salt helped. Mac and cheese was creamy and really excelled, however. Texas toast was unnecessary but also stood out: buttery and toasted soft. There's plenty of space at this Hog Wild, which makes it great for groups and families.

On the way to Wichita we stopped at this BBQ joint. This is the fast food place. You order at a counter and pick up at the same counter. Nice country ambiance and the food was good. My chicken sandwich was nice and my friends enjoyed theirs. Nothing fancy, in a strip.mall, parking lot available. So if ever in Salina Kansas enjoy.....

Hog wild is the best!

Great ribs and slaw. I'd skip the mac & cheese next time as it was nothing special.

Stopped here on a road trip from Denver to Chicago and it was a surprise to see a drive through at a place like this.

My husband and I were passing through Salina and staying overnight at the hotel, so when we…read morediscovered there was a Burger Theory attached to the property, we were actually genuinely excited. We have eaten at Burger Theory locations in Phoenix before and have always had fairly good experiences there, so this felt like a comfortable and easy dinner option after a long travel day on the road. Unfortunately, this particular visit wound up being pretty underwhelming. When we arrived, much of the restaurant seating area appeared closed off, and guests were being kept primarily within one corner section of the dining room. I assume this was done to simplify cleanup and staffing management for the evening, which I can certainly understand from an operational standpoint, but it also gave the restaurant a strangely restricted atmosphere. Now after a long drive, honestly almost any hot meal feels welcome. But the food itself simply did not feel up to the Burger Theory standard we were expecting based on previous visits elsewhere. The burger meat tasted under-seasoned and lacked the savory richness and flavor I usually associate with a good burger. The food also arrived a little less warm than it probably should have been, which made the meal feel even less satisfying overall. And unfortunately, the service did not help improve the experience. Our server was difficult to find for long stretches of time, and on the occasions when she was visible, she often appeared focused on her phone instead. At a certain point my husband and I mostly just exchanged that quiet married-couple glance that says: "Well... this is probably not going to improve." Needless to say, we left feeling fairly disappointed and honestly just ready to finish dinner and retreat back to the room for the evening. Not every road trip meal becomes memorable for the right reasons, I suppose.

Great food at a reasonable price! I custom built my cheese burger and it was good af. I love a good…read morecheeseburger and this place is legit. Tried the key lime pie too and it was amazing. Keep up the great work. Eff the atmosphere (it was fine) I'm reviewing the food!

An interesting visit to Chuck's Bar. Not quite the same results as my stop in February. I did…read morerecommend this to our group because we had great service and good food! This time maybe a bit different. Our group of 8 started out with the Potato Skins and The Sampler! Both were very good and would definitely recommend! I chose the Whiskey Creek Burger as did two others in our group. The consensus / good burger but overcooked and not enough bbq sauce. Another chose the Leroy Brown, 2 more got Bacon Cheese Burger, another 1/2 Club - overall the lunch was well liked. Our server was great and she kept on top of everything. Doubtful our travels will pass through here again but if in the area it's a worthy stop!

This was one of the worst visits I have ever had at Chuck's. We ordered a sampler platter for…read moreappetizer and substituted the rattle snake eggs instead of wings. We ordered trash can nachos and sliders as our meals. The nachos were the first thing to come out, yes before the appetizer. They were terrible, no lettuce, no shredded cheese, had ordered with extra jalapenos, there were none. The top had some kind of hamburger gravy looking stuff on it, the pico was completely hidden, they didn't taste good. The cheeseburger sliders came out and one had mushrooms on it. Finally the sampler came out and it was all pretty much burnt, the rattle snake eggs had bacon on it that was so done it just feel apart and the peppers were burnt. The waitress came over and got us boxes and left the check and listen to our concerns. She obviously didn't want to face the problem because she never came back to the table. We had to go to the bar to pay. There wasn't one apology or offer to make it better. Chuck's you need to do better.
