All grills & tables on cement pads

Looking for some Delta fun? Go here! Grab your beach chairs and your cooler, its a beautiful Sacramento County park that's fun for whole family! Lots of fun in the sun on a hot summer day! Boat launch, spaced out picnic areas with plenty of tables and each having their own grills! Bring your volleyball net and ball, bring your Frisbee, bad-mitten, soccer ball or a football and surly don't forget your water toys! Big grassy area to play an outdoor game of choice. I'd advise to also grab your easy-up too! The beach areas are fairly small are mostly located right in front of the picnic table areas, kinda like for use of that family to use and not necessarily big enough for sharing with other groups. So that's why in a picture I posted, I mentioned that the beach areas are intimate. 365 days a year its a self-payment kiosk. Grab a permit payment envelope and put your $5 (car), or $10 (boat) fee in and you'll be on your way. Weather you want to BBQ with family & friends and do some fishing or relax under the mature trees and read a novel whilst the kids are swimming, Hogback is the perfect spot. During the summer the place can get quite busy. Hogbacks waterways are along the levee of the Steamboat Slough. The current can at times be swift and be aware of boats, jet skis and kids at all times. Get there early, as its first come, first served. Trash cans are throughout, please pick up after yourself. There are no services here. Porta potties for restrooms. I did not see a water spicket anywhere either. To get their from Antioch (west) follow HWY 160 signs, cross over the Isleton Bridge (half yellow and half cement color), follow 160 (take a right), down the road a bit and take your 1st left turn onto Poverty Rd, then a left again onto Walker Landing Rd. Once you reach Grand Island Rd take your last left. Follow along the levee about 3-4 minutes and then you'll see Hogback on your right. Oh and bring your kite! Parking lot is perfect on a windy Delta afternoon! Pets allowed as long as they are leashed at all times.

What was once a worthwhile club appears to be in clear decline. From my direct experience, the…read morewarning signs are hard to ignore: management turnover, frustrated employees, and ownership that no longer seems willing to invest in the club's future. Prospective buyers should look closely before committing. The fleet is now made up of aging boats, roughly 4-6 years old, and the wear is evident. Inventory has reportedly been reduced from 9 boats to 5, including only 2 surf boats, while pricing remains unchanged. At the same time, members are being asked to move to an "unlimited bookings" model that still limits usage to no more than 3 bookings per month!!! Last season alone, boats experienced issues ranging from failed ballast pumps and broken amps to damaged railings and inconsistent availability. Yet despite reduced inventory, aging equipment, and declining service levels, ownership appears intent on maintaining the same pricing without meaningful reinvestment. Anyone considering joining should do their homework, verify the facts independently, and speak with former members. Membership has reportedly fallen from 42 to 17 and continues to trend downward. That kind of decline does not happen without reason.

Instructions were provided concisely in an easy to understand format for new drivers. We rented a Chaparral for 4 hours on Labor Day and it couldn't have gone smoother. The boat was in excellent condition and everyone had a great time. Gas came out to about $57, keeping in mind we had 5 adults, lots of food, and towed a tube during our rental period. Definitely recommend Berryessa Water Sports and will see them again soon!

It made me excited to rent from this business. My booking was for 4th of July and even before I booked I did speak with them about booking and they gave me their advice. Day of, I called to let them know I'd be running a little late past my booking time, I spoke with Jamie and she said thank you for the heads up, we'll see you soon." I arrive for her to tell me that all state parks are full and she blocks bookings off after 11, knowing that I booked for 11:30. I do understand that it's a holiday and a weekend, so state parks being at full capacity is out of her hands. What I do not appreciate was her tone and attitude with us versus other customers, her not giving us a heads up knowing we were running late, and she still gave people more of the options of getting their rentals and where they can try versus what felt like she was simply dismissing us. May try to come again, but for a 2 hour drive and to receive customer service like that in person versus whoever I previously spoke to on the phone- to be determined.
