Everything they offer make the experience the best experience possible. from the bus ride to your spot to them giving you the directions and then let you go at your own pace to you pulling up to a camp spot setting up camp and then serving you a healthy portion steak and chicken dinner. that's not to mention the glow in the dark disco they have on a plateau along the river. this place is awesome and I fly from Seattle every year to make sure that I'm apart. I had an amazing time with Whitewater Adventures. This was honestly one of the most fun and memorable group trips I've done. I went with a group of 10, last July, and it ended up being such a chaotic (in the best way) and bonding experience. We still talk about it to this day. They also offer a group discount, which is worth looking into and made it feel like a really good value for everything included. All of us were first-timers, so we were definitely a little nervous going in, but the staff made it feel really welcoming right away. They gave a quick crash course/overview on how to navigate the water and what to expect, which helped ease a lot of the nerves. I'd say it's very beginner-friendly, just keep in mind it is a Class 2-3 course, so there are still some rocky and more exciting sections. The rafting is self-guided, so there's no guide on your raft, but there is a sweeper raft at the end making sure everyone gets through safely. There was also one section where the rapids got pretty wild, and staff were there helping anyone who got stuck, which I appreciated. Overall, everything felt organized and ran smoothly. We did the 2-day experience, and I'd recommend it if you're comfortable with camping. The overnight stay is outdoors, so just something to keep in mind if you're not used to that. The campsite had a really social vibe with a happy hour, group activities, and just people hanging out, which made it even more fun. The food was honestly better than I expected. We had steak and baked potatoes for dinner, and a breakfast burrito station in the morning. During the rafting, there were also a lot of scenic spots along the way where you could rest and take everything in. I remember passing by what used to be a volcanic site, which was really cool to see. Each raft comes with a waterproof bag for your belongings and lunch, but I'd recommend bringing extra snacks, water or electrolytes, sunscreen, and good water shoes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for friend groups, especially if it's your first time rafting. It's a great mix of fun, a little bit of challenge, and just a really unique experience. Booked with a group of 9 and the experience was amazing and smooth! Upon arrival, they take care of your luggage transfer to the bottom of the river, so all you have to do is float down, arrive at camp, set-up, and wait for dinner! I can't recommend Whitewater Adventures enough! We spent three days with a large group at their Cache Creek campground, and from start to finish, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The campground was beautiful, clean, and incredibly well maintained. You can tell the staff takes pride in creating a welcoming environment. We even experienced an unexpected challenge with high wind where a tree fell overnight just off campus and knocked out the power. Instead of chaos, the staff handled everything with professionalism and a positive attitude. They quickly adapted, kept everyone informed, and somehow managed to get breakfast and everything else running smoothly despite having no electricity. It was impressive to watch. The rafting trip itself was absolutely incredible--exciting, relaxing, breathtaking, and just plain fun all at the same time. The staff were organized, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel safe while making sure we had an unforgettable adventure. Transportation to the river was seamless, and the entire operation was extremely well run. The food was delicious, there were plenty of fun activities, and the neon dance party was such a blast! Great music, bubbles, lights, dancing--it was the perfect way to end an adventurous day on the river. This was one of those trips where every detail came together. Absolutely love the crew at Whitewater adventures! Mark and his crew always go above and beyond to make every trip special. All you need to bring is your camp gear, and good vibes. They literally handle everything else. Breakfast lunch and dinner all handmade (and really tasty). From steaks, to burgers, to the biggest baked potatoes you've ever seen in your life. When you head out rafting they drive you up to a certain point in the river and give you the rules and regulations, then they hand you a nice packed lunch in a waterproof bag and they send you on your way. The water is mainly calm and chill, and anywhere there are some somewhat hectic rapids they have professional crews to assist and make sure everyone is safe. Make sure to book the extra early day so you can come up for movie night with popcorn and snacks. Extremely family friendly environment, but also great for an adults weekend out. This was my third year rafting with White Water Adventures and it was just as amazing as the first! The new hammocks around the campground are such a thoughtful addition--after a long day of rapids and sun, it's the perfect way to relax. The food and atmosphere never disappoint. I always look forward to the Saturday steak dinner, but the appetizers (pictured) are one of my absolute favorites every year. And when the sun goes down, the blacklight bubble party takes the whole experience to another level! 5 out of 5 stars--we will definitely be back next year! read more

Let's start with the positives: the location is beautiful, the rafts are sturdy and the rafting itself was mostly very fun. The bus shuttling was also solid. The negatives: -our fearless leader spent more of his time during the safety briefing telling his staff to be quiet than actually giving us helpful information. -the life jackets need replacing. -There was no emphasis on storing personal belongings. We were told things would get wet, but not about securing things properly. We lost a phone and a GoPro on this trip. -We were promised a lunch of sandwiches and chips but were not told that the sandwiches were DIY. Not ideal to have to put the meats, cheeses and condiments together while on the raft. -I have been on a few guide-less rafting trips and always felt safe and that a guide would be overkill. I did not feel like that on this trip. We got stuck on multiple boulders, our boat got filled with water, our bag floated away and my teenage son also got ejected from the boat. We're all ok, although with some bruises and scrapes for sure. They do have a guide stationed on the most difficult part of the river and I'm certain he had to jump in after more than just my group based on pictures. We also saw a stranded rafter on the side of the river, who got separated from her group. While I love the location I would not raft with this company again. By the way, the owner (?) Mark offers free trips for five star reviews if you rate on yelp, google and trip advisor. Which might explain their high ratings. read more

Although it is nearly end of the season, I need to write this review for WARNING potential tourists who want to book the $99 one-day trip because I see many other reviews here are misleading. Please read the waiver carefully so that you understand that this one-day trip only provides you basic rafting equipment (no helmet or wetsuit) and lunch pack on boat, with a brief 10-minute instruction on how to use the equipment. And that's all, there is no service such as rescue/teaching/guiding/other help at all from Whitewater Adventures. What happened to us, is after our boat flipped over, two people in our group stayed in water for 30 minutes near a rock and got rescued by two stranger rafters. The two strange rafters have radio and said there would be bus coming in 30 minutes. However my friends waited for 3 hours but there is no bus from Whitewater Adventures to pick them up. They finally got a ride back to the main parking lot by some other strangers who were hiking around. Along the entire trip I did see a lot of other people got in trouble, they did not receive any help service from this company as well. All you have is to help yourself or getting some help from other strange people nearby (you can't call 911 as there is no phone service as well). That's it, I really want to WARN people about what really is the one-day trip from Whitewater Adventures and I sincerely discourage any non-experienced rafters to book this. read more

Went whitewater rafting this past weekend on Cache Creek River through a volcanic canyon - serious rapids, not a chill float down the river. I HIGHLY recommend this outfit, Whitewater Adventures, they have all the bases covered. This is for the energetic adrenaline junkies, not someone looking for a lazy afternoon on the water. There are mostly Class III and Class II rapids and you're vigorously paddling about 80% of the time. The water is not snowmelt, so is a nice temp. They provide lunch, and if you do the full weekend of two day's rafting, Saturday and Sunday, you camp and they cook all the dinners and breakfasts, plus a black light glow dance party on Saturday night! Stars are also pretty amazing. The most important thing I learned was to go with friends! You'll have a much better time if you already have at least one other partner for your boat, although they do have 3 and 5 people boats, so it's possible to hitch a ride with another group if you're vocal about being a single when they hand out the gear each day. read more

I had the BEST time this weekend as a vip camper! The trip started with a delicious barbecue Friday night, where I got to meet the awesome staff! Then Saturday morning came along and I had the most delicious croissant to fuel a full day of rafting! Mark and the crew gave a great orientation that left me feeling extra prepared for the water! What rafters should know: - This is very challenging whitewater rafting. The rapids are non-stop throughout the journey and very vigorous. Despite what is posted on the website, we didn't experience this to be a "beginner level" adventure. - Pick the right raft. We picked a raft far too big for my daughter, husband and I. It was a 3-5 person raft, but it was incredibly heavy with mainly my husband and I rowing. Plus, we learned at the end that it was considered mostly deflated, we had no idea. When we were in the raft, it felt like it had enough air, but when we got out we could see it had indeed lost a ton of air. - Between the raft being too big and heavy and losing air, the river was very hard to navigate. We got stuck on endless boulders and swept into trees more times than we could count. My husband are in good shape to row and stay in control but we were at such a disadvantage from the jump. - Right at the beginning of our trip we got stuck on a boulder with water literally cascading through our raft and over my daughter at a fast and scary pace. We couldn't get off the boulder and the water was too fast to get out. Another raft bumped us off and toppled my husband and I out. I came up underneath the raft, fearing I was drowning, but pushed myself out from under. Only to see our daughter staring at us helplessly in the raft alone, moving swiftly toward the next big rapid. Luckily we were able to catch up to her, get our oars and get to the shore. It was a horrible and scary start. - We struggled on countless boulders, as mentioned, and when we hit the halfway point, where we had the option to leave, we were told "there are only three more rapids, the rest is pretty easy". This was not the case, we hit at least 10 more rapids and none of it was easy, including The Mother. We had a couple more scary incidents and were beyond relieved when we got to the end. - The trip was not what is advertised. Especially if you are not guided toward the right raft! We MAY have had fun in a smaller, more maneuverable raft. BUT the instructor stated that the larger raft is a "smoother ride" while the smaller raft is "faster and bumpier". While this may be true, it led me to misunderstand that we'd have a smoother ride, which we did not. We got stuck constantly, to the point of it not being fun. No one checked to see if rafters were in the appropriate raft. Many reviewers mention that a smaller kayak is recommended, I wish I would've read the reviews before our trip! I highly trusted the info on the website that this trip was safe and for beginners. I was wrong. - There are no helmets. One rafter came back to camp from the hospital later that evening with staples in his head. Horrible and so scary. One in our group was tossed out of the raft and her leg was badly bruised & swollen. We were told only 10% of rafters fell out of their rafts, our experience on the river seemed more like 80-90%. Injuries DO happen on these trips. - There are almost zero guides along the river to help these dangerous situations. We saw one guide, the guy that talked us into continuing our journey. I appreciated his enthusiasm and kindness but his advice was incredibly misleading. Plus there are several points in the journey were rafters just needed help and no one was there. Folks fell off their rafts and watched their rafts float away, lost their paddles, got left behind, it felt like utter chaos. - Lifevests weren't checked. Multiple rafters didn't buckle their lifevests correctly. Guides should be checking all the lifevests or running a tutorial WHILE rafters are putting them on. Instead they throw a ton of info at you and basically it's "good luck" from there. - I DO have a lot of nice things to say about this journey: camp was super fun, the food was pretty good (especially for camping food) and it's awesome that they cook for you, the campsite was nice, the dance party was a total blast, the river was beautiful, and the movie night was super fun. There are plentiful portapotties with sinks, they get gross but that's just tent camping. I thoroughly enjoyed the camping part of the trip. But I can say this rafting trip is dangerous, can be downright scary, and not for beginners. read more

I've rafted with this company since the 90's and am so grateful to finally go back and have a mini reunion there with all our kids and their loved ones! We went on July 5-7th for the VIP Friday night experience, a first for me and then rafting Saturday and Sunday! It was an absolute blast!! So nice to be together with our family, talking around the tables for breakfast, appetizers and dinner and then singing and talking at our campsite. Disco in the forest is still Awesome and upgraded with the black lights and bubbles. Stars for days, relaxing sound of the river and cooling off whenever we wanted with our water access area on the river at camp. Mark hasn't changed, still full of energy, valuable history and heaps of hospitality! So glad to be there with him at WWA and look forward to going again every year as a tradition. Six of our party of eight came in from out of state, so the VIP Camping and having the ability to rent a tent, with sleeping pads and chairs included was so convenient!! Looking forward to getting friends and family up to raft together, it was perfect! Be prepared for a full day on Saturday and/or Sunday - check in, gear loading (if camping), bus ride, safety briefing, rafting, water gun fights on the river, stop to enjoy lunch at your leisure, raft to campground take out. One day trippers bus ride back to cars, multiple days, set up camp, appetizers served with live music aloha attire, then relax until dinner served (steak or chicken, potatoes, corn, pasta, Oreos and milk for dessert), little rest and get ready for the disco under the stars! You can go single or two day trips or make it a VIP weekend coming in Friday night. All options are amazing and catered to whatever works for your schedule! Let me start by saying we stayed at Paddle Ridge so we received a 10% discount, that was nice! I booked my 19 year olds over the phone, no issues. I was nervous and wanted to check things out and told the lady that. When we arrived there, I told the staff that I had called and was nervous and immediately one of the staff said "Oh, are you Janice? We spoke earlier when you called." That immediately put me more at ease. Her reassurance was all I needed. The ONLY complaint I had, was that the wets suits we wore were distributed by male guides, who clearly cannot judge female sizes, no fault of their own. I wish they would have allowed us to request what we thought would be our size. I am a large woman 5'11" and weigh 240#'s, thank goodness I've lost 40#'s so far. Anyway, one guide handed me a wet suit, I asked if he thought it would fit because it looked small. He said "Yes, absolutely." I could not get it on. I'd my kids were not with me to go get me another, I would not have gone. My son's suit was way too small as well, he is 6'6". I got another suit, still too small. By this time, I am in tears. Yet again, we get another suit and, alas, this one fits! Maybe to help resolve this issue, ask people the size that they normally wear and let them size up or down. Our guide, Wes, was amazing. He was fun, knowledgable and aware. He talked with the kiddos on the raft as well as the adults. He gave me a rope to hold onto as I was still terrified. I had rafted once before and it was a bad experience so I am glad I went again because it was well worth it!!! Love this place! We've been here a couple of times and have had a place had a absolute blast the entire time. While this place does offer certain "amenities" like lawn games, and river exploration, Rumsey is generally exceptionally hot at all hours, and you'll probably be lounging around your campsite the entire time, and if you're ike me, drinking heavily. What this place DOES offer is an "all-inclusive" camp/stay/get fed rafting trip, for CHEAP. And if you've got a good group, that's all you really need! The rapids are level 2 rapids and you don't need to know how to raft beforehand (I do not know how to swim, and I've survived three trips down the river). It's not hard, but it's not a lazy river ride either. There's a (really long) orientation in the beginning anyway that tells you how to paddle all the way through the course, BUT even if you fall out your life vests are great, so don't worry! basically, if you're into fancy food and class, I don't recommend this trip. If you're good with shit food + high speed water adventure + general camping things plus the bonus of a portapotty, you will have a good time. AND if you have a big group, you get a free bottle of tequila. That's winning right there! --- sweet: extremely cheap for a trip where all meals are provided bitter: the meals are unfortunately not super great. but you should expect that, honestly. read more

The water was gorgeous, Both days u raft 4-5 hours through perfect rapids, The canyon walls through the river were breath taking along with million yr old seabeds made by molten lava from the Mt. Konocti eruption. We camped over night and met so many cool, fun people. everyone's so friendly and the staff takes great care of you! They feed you really GREAT FOOD!!; breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and appetizers! Then a tiki appetizer party and disco party with glow sticks, bubbles and music before bedtime! I don't think I have ever left a review on this site, but this one felt warranted. Yet another great trip in the books. From the moment we stepped into camp Mark (owner)and his crew took care of us. From food to entertainment to jokes camp and crew was amazing. The day was to be 110+ degrees so the owner promptly moved us to the shade at camp to give a safety talk about the river. It was quite extensive, and he took it very seriously. He went over the gear for the day, how to paddle, what to do if you flipped and most importantly talked about the rivers layout and what to do in case of an emergency. All directions were clear, and all questions were answered that were asked. Mark has clearly been doing this for a while and takes this portion of the day very seriously as he asks for complete silence during this portion of the day, so that everyone gets the directions. Now off to the rafting. Once to the put in after a short drive into the canyon you receive a lunch to take with you and are given a raft that will fit the size of your group and its off to the river. Upon showing up to the put in there is a handful of crew members there to help you down to the river. They have clearly been working all morning to get boats pumped up and ready for you. The river is just warm enough to be comfortable and just cool enough to cool you off. My girlfriend and I jumped in a boat together and headed down stream. The river seems like it was made for this type of "no guide" rafting as it progressively gets more difficult as you move down river, giving you a chance to warm up. The cool part about the trip is that whenever I had to question which way to go there was an employee on a rock to tell me where to go. We paddled and swam and laid under the willow trees and napped throughout the day. The last rapid of the day was the largest......probably the only true class III- of the day. There were several employees there to tell you which way to go. When we were pulled over on the shore, I even had one employee pump my boat As with any adventure in nature it comes with risks, and I did see some people fall out and bump around a bit. There were employees there to help them to shore. All parties I saw fall out were laughing once they were on shore and continued with a smile. The stories of the day could be heard echoing through camp accompanied by laughter. Pretty amazing day. At the takeout we didn't lift a finger. The employees told us to relax and go get comfortable. They took our boats and paddles and loaded them back into the trailer to prepare them for the next day. After changing and opening a beer, I sat in the shade and sat at the river's edge. There was a live guitar player playing for nearly 2 hours as appetizers were laid out and the guests all mingled. Dinner was amazing and definitely all you could eat Steak/Chicken/potatoes/ corn/salad. During dinner we were treated to a performance by a family of traditional Hawaiian dancers. Nice surprise. When the sun went down, we were treated to an amazing family style dance parties complete with a laser show, bubbles, and disco lights. It was awesome. Cool part is that when the show was over people kind of hang around and talk and have a good time but at 47 years old, I was ready for bed. I had no problems going to bed as the people were super respectful and no more music was played. Am I getting old? I was a bit sore the next day, but any good adventure comes with those bumps and bruises. To me that's the sign of a day well spent. We set off for round two on the river. We are already planning our next trip. Probably this year. I can't wait to throw my 13- and 15-year-old kids in the boat alone to teach them how to work together. Just did this Whitewater adventure last weekend and it was amazing. We had over 20 people in our group. Camping was fun even though it was 108 out. The water was refreshing while rafting down the river for 4-5 hours. You take your time stop and enjoy Mother Nature at its finest. The owner mark was on point with everything going on the whole weekend as was the staff friendly and helpful. Nighttime neon light disco was icing on the cake our whole group got painted up and neon outfits and danced our butts off. And too top it off to my surprise I got a free bottle of cazadoras tequila for bringing a large group. We all definitely enjoyed it and will be back next year !!! CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE !! Whitewater Adventures - Rafting/Kayaking Near Me

Very disorganized, terrible "campsites", and poor/lacking equipment. We paid for VIP camping Friday- Sunday. No signage for the parking area and bus arrived late. Turns out the shuttle bus is a filthy old school bus without any storage for all the equipment they advise you to bring. There were 2 buses for 150+ people and their gear. We had to stack our gear and coolers on the seats and stand or sit on top of it- super unsafe! Our "VIP" campsite doesn't exist. This just means you arrive is a free-for-all scramble to set your tent up in uneven dirt and knee high weeds. By Saturday we were surrounded by tents within 3 feet on all sides. There were 7 port-a-potties for 150+ people. So, by Saturday they were full. The food was terrible- raw meat, not enough condiments for everyone (butter, sour cream, etc). The rafting is unsafe because of the poorly maintained & outdated equipment. No helmets, and mold old life vests! It was described as beginner rafting. We are experienced kayakers, but this was NOT beginners (class 3-4 at 2 locations). Lots of people skipped rafting on Sunday. By the end of Sunday we were beat up, bruised, and bloody. Hated this experience and thought I was going to die trapped under our Kayak in the "tough mudder". read more

Got the Groupon for a full day of rafting at the south fork spot for about 90 bucks! This was my first time going on the rapids and i was a bit excited yet nervous at the same time. I was mainly worried about falling out the raft during the rapids and thankfully I stayed in the raft the entire time. If you are worried about falling out, it's best to sit in the back two rows. Theres def a higher chance of falling out in the front of the raft. I really enjoyed the rafting experience and had a blast! I love getting to row in the river while checking out the beautiful nature surrounding us. Our guide made the trip even more fun as he gave us "tricks" to do such as sitting backwards on the raft, hitting big rocks, doing the cowboy, etc. it kept us throughly entertained during the trip. When you arrive at the parking lot, there is a shuttle (about a 30 min ride) to take you to the start of the rafting river. On the bus, the lead guide went around collecting our car keys, which they held onto for us during the rafting trip. Don't keep your keys on you for the rafting trip! There's a chance you could lost it. A few KEY takeaways that I learned and had no clue prior to the trip: 1. Make sure you have a helmet/life jacket on and tightly too in case you end up in the river either intentionally or unintentionally. 2. If you do fall in the river, keep your legs up and float face upward as you don't want your legs hitting the rocks under the river. 3. Don't bring any precious devices such as your cellphone. Sadly, one of our group members lost her phone in the river during our trip. Rip phone! They do have professional photographer taking snaps during your trip but they do cost a lot about $50 and more. 4. Bring a small water gun! Haha it comes in handy when you "attack" other rafting groups during your trip. 5. We brought plenty of sunscreen and a few bottles of water- in hindsight bring more water! I ran out of water during the second half of the rafting trip and I kept day dreaming about having a nice cool refreshing slurpee when I was rafting. It was a bit distracting and I wished I had something to quench my thirst. Overall, I had such a fun time! I would totally want to come back! read more

Quick update: Customer service ended up reaching out about a month and a half later apologizing and offered a credit for a 2 day rafting trip + Friday overnight stay in 2024 to make amends and even stated they're taking my review seriously and retraining staff. I'm grateful for the feedback and that they did listen to my concerns. Customer service in that regards is good. With that being said, because this is almost a 3 hour drive away, I think we'll just say we checked this particular adventure off the bucket list and move on. read more

I went here as part of a bigger group and it was great! This was my first time rafting and this place made it an unforgettable experience. Firstly our campsite had a perfect mix of sun and shade, and was just a short walk from the river. They have you park a ways away and shuttle everyone in, which while a little inconvenient, it is really nice not having everyone's cars all over the place. They provided 3 meals a day plus appetizers around 5-6, all of which were awesome. The rafting itself was great. The raft felt very safe, and Whitewater Adventure had employees throughout the river to ensure that everyone stays safe and on track. They provided lunch which was pretty good and it was nice to not have to worry about lunch for the weekend. All together I had an amazing time, and so did everyone else in my group! read more

Probably the most fun camping trip I've ever gone to! Neon glow stick party, provided meals, and free tequila? Sign me up!! What a fun weekend trip to go with friends and family. I highly recommend even if you don't know how to swim (like myself). Price is about $160 total for one day camping. You river raft two days back to back. Like others have mentioned, these are self guided rafts. The instructor will give you a quick 20 min orientation on what to do so make sure you or at least someone in your group pays attention! This is key because within the first 10 minutes you hit your first rapid! don't be like me and forget everything and fall into the water!!! Haha my advice is have one person steer and guide the group if you are rafting with 3+ people. Honestly, so much fun and tiring. Things to note: Don't bring any valuables! I wore my sunglasses without a strap and lost them right away. Bring an extra pair of contacts if you can't see like me. Try to pick the self-bailing rafts so you don't have to constantly get out to dump the water! The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that they have no area to rinse off after you're back at the campsite. Even though it's one night, changing into fresh clothes while being dirty just feels gross to me haha. Bring baby wipes for sure!!! The staff is awesome! I would definitely do this trip again! read more
