Husband and I made the drive out to the Maruhaci Ra-men after we found out another restaurant we wanted to try was temporarily closed. What a wonderful spontaneous decision it turned out to be! We arrived in between lunch and dinner, so the place was relatively quiet save for a couple other tables. They do give you a warning that this place is cashless (debit and credit card only), of which we were more than okay with. There weren't many choices on the menu, but more than enough to satisfy every palette. I picked the very standard Cha-Shu Ramen while my husband went with a spicy variety. The waitress apologize for our food taking so long...which we wanted to laugh out loud, because our food probably took about five minutes to arrive, tops. (I suspect they train all their employees to say that). But my oh my the food was absolutely delicious. I really appreciated the restaurant used "real" thin chow-mein noodles, and none of that instant noodle variety I have sadly seen at a fair number of other ramen establishments. My broth was a nice balance of salty/savory, and the Cha-Shu was nice and lean and not fatty. We gobbled up our dishes and were left with that nice clean and full feeling. The service was on par with the food. Everyone was smiling, friendly, and our waters were filled asap and empty bowls taken away with the same speediness. We found and winner and will be back when our next Ra-Men craving hits!

"Maruhachi Ra-men" was recommended to us by @heywesleyc and the dinner we enjoyed there was of such quality that I was rendered pretty much giddy afterwards. If you know me at all you know that me experiencing a shortage of words is a rarity, and yet that is where I found myself. Try as I might, the post meal words just seemed to evade me. While I aspired to utilize chopsticks when enjoying my "Chicken Supreme Ramen", I quickly surrendered to my impatient urges to blanket my tastebuds by shoveling the contents into my mouth with a spoon as quickly as possible. What occurred over the course of the next several minutes is now mostly a blur to me. ‍ However, what I do recall is that the noodles were cooked perfectly, the chicken was unbelievably moist and tender, and the flavorful and creamy broth was wonderfully comforting on a chilly and rainy night. While I remember enjoying the "Pan Fried Gyoza" prior to the ramen, the joyous food induced coma caused by the latter erased all recollections of the former. I do recall commencing the meal with the Edamame and that they served it chilled in smoked soy sauce. While it was reasonably flavorful and provided an interesting experience, I struggled to get past its temperature and am not sure that I'd order it again. The service was outstanding and the staff was extremely attentive and responsive when alerted to my food allergies. Overall an excellent meal and experience that I'd love to repeat. And that's...Henry's Take. #vancouverramen

A much needed meal for a chilly day in Surrey. Their ramen isn't too salty, the noodles and meat are filling, and the restaurant has a new, modern vibe. There was a QR code on the table for the menu but not for online ordering which was confusing. My cell reception in the restaurant was also weak so it took a while for the menu to load. We had a party of 15 people and everyone needed to be present for us to be seated. There's a sign pointing this out at the front of the restaurant. 5 outta 5

First time at this location/branch and our experienced with other 6 friends was very good. The place was a bit busy for dinner time but the very nice staff managed to find us a table. The place was very nice and spacious and staff were friendly and very accommodating. This location serves a bit more of noodles than other locations. I'm very happy and satisfied with my Tamago Ramen as they're consistent with the taste and creaminess of their broth.

I'm sad they don't have the black sesame tan tan anymore because that was what kept me coming back. I'll come back when they bring that dish back. Their Ramen is still good though and it's a nice restaurant aesthetically plus they have happy hour.

Your preference will depend upon subtleties about noodle thickness and texture and broth flavors, but there is always, always a line in front of Ramen Danbo. A lot of it is probably due to hype or fame, but I have to admit that I think it does edge out the others in several ways. I think the noodles themself are more flavorful and more delicate. And I have to say the pork was extremely tender and flavorful. The egg was perfectly prepared, and the broth was perfectly seasoned to my desired spiciness level. They also do a great job searing their gyozas. Because of its overwhelming popularity, they have perfected the ordering process so that you can fill out a form while you're in line, which greatly reduces your wait time. It's easy to get in and out of here in 30 min, and I'm sure that is their goal. As a result, the dining experience might not exactly be relaxing, but if your focus is on the best quality bowl of noodles that you can get, I think it is worth the wait.

It's not your typical ramen joint because looking at the menu, they have some other Asian dishes that are from different cultures. It's like a mish-mash of Asian flavours! We stuck to the ramen dishes since that's what we were after, and it was actually super delicious! Firstly, the bowls are bigger than usual ramen bowls from other Japanese joints, so you get a bit more. Your ramen comes with the basic meat/protein and a few add-ons. Optional toppings are available for $1.75 each. We ordered the miso tonkotsu and the spicy version. We LOVED it and thought it was super comparable to authentic ramen places in the lower mainland! Definitely come and try them out! The ambiance is super casual. Good for large groups as they have plenty of seating. Unassuming yet tasty. Only thing is that it's located in a part of Surrey where there's a lot of homeless folks roaming around the area. One even walked in and stopped by our table asking for money, but the owner was able to (nicely) shoo them away and apologized to us after. Apparently that guy wanders in from time to time, but there are usually cop cars in the area. We went on a Saturday night, so just beware of this in case you experience it too.

My favorite from here is the Nasi Goreng, it is so flavorful and amazing. We ordered Roti Canai and the Malaysian curry with it, the Tonkotsu Ramen was also pretty amazing. Short Review: The…read morehomely but Japanese-inspired decor is nice for this restaurant. They followed all COVID-19 precautions, and It's a fair price for a large bowl of ramen. I ordered the "Red Hot" ramen, and I can't say the soup base is the most flavourful, mainly due to the spice ratio being slightly too much, but it's tasty nonetheless. If you live in Port Coquitlam, this place is worth a try. Long review: Ramen Bella recently opened up its second location in Port Coquitlam, and took over the Mexican gourmet that used to be there. This restaurant has got a great atmosphere, although it's quite quaint and still keeps the old tiling from the Mexican establishment, it fits it nicely although I can't say I feel like I'm sitting in an underground ramen shop in Shibuya. All staff followed COVID-19 procedures, wearing masks and practiced social distancing to the best of their abilities, they disinfected tables and chairs after people left and overall made the dining experience feel safe. We ordered, and our food came to us in less than five minutes, Igot the red hot ramen, and I gotta say it was pretty good. Usually spicy ramen ends up just being spicy and totally overpowering the broth flavour. I can't say the ratio was absolutely perfect, but it was a lot better than most other places. The portion size was great, but I'm not sure how I feel about bok choy and wonton crisps in ramen. The noodles tasted like good quality ramen noodles, but not home-made at the restaurant. This was quite minor but my soup didn't really come out to me piping hot, and more just hot in some spots and warm in others. I trust that it was a mistake considering my lady friends bowl was totally hot though. The gyoza we ordered with our meals was quite tasty. The pork and chives filling was what you'd expect for a restaurant like this, and the size of them was eatable in about two bites. These were super hot, so let them cool off for about a minute before you dig in! Overall if you live in the Tri-cities or Port Coquitlam, this is your best bet for ramen if you don't want to travel out to Vancouver. I think they should change the soup base to spicy ratio in the Red Hot bowl, to give it a little more flavour. Overall, this place has a lot of potential to be great, but for now, i give it a 3.5/5.
