Great sushi place for Peoria. A little pricey, but the rolls were great. Will be going back for sure.

Sushi was ok, the shrimp tempura roll was the better of the rolls we tried. We also tried the hibachi and, maybe it was because we were not at the table, but the filet and shrimp combo lacked the same flavor as , say a Beni Hana, etc. read more

The decor is simply elegant with lighting and water and stone and wood and colors. The bar is well-stocked. The menu is varied. And the food is far better than you find at most such places. For one thing, the ingredients are first class which, for our party of five, meant steak, chicken, shrimp, tuna and squid. The servings were fresh and lean and large. The best part is that the hibachi chef knew food and created seasonings and sauces that were perfect. Those who ordered sushi pronounced it A1 as well. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The manager even came by a couple times to check on us. Having been to several dozen hibachi restaurants all over the map -- including Tokyo -- we can say that Hokkaido is at the acme. All in all, this is the Asian restaurant Peoria has been waiting for. It earns all five of its stars. read more

Went when they first opened for hibachi, it was fair, maybe they were just to new at the time.... Went for sushi on another Friday night, It really was wonderful. Salmon sashimi was so great. So we tried out there "Endless sushi" on a week night. It is basically an all you can eat for one price, I got the 20 dollar meal. First the waiters stated..."oh you must finish EVERYTHING, even each piece of rice, or you have pay each piece" So I thought ok, they are trying to save some money. You must order 2 rolls at a time, and you can NOT order more than 2 pieces of sashimi period. My white tuna was gross to say the least, you could clearly tell the defrosted it in water, the edges were a bright white and it was very wet, I sent it back, only to be told "oh chef, he seared tuna" First I didn't order it that way, Second,,I've had seared fish and this was NOT seared. He cut the sides off and sent it back my way. Nasty nasty. My rolls were a mess and fell apart, One of my rolls looked and tasted if it was covered in melted cheese. yuck! My salmon was tiny pieces, not the great pieces I had got when I paid full price. The red tuna was a deep deep burgundy color and had no flavor at all. It felt like because I ordered the all you can eat, they gave me the crap fish and didn't care about my dish. If I go again, I will just pay for what I want and hope for the best. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. Generally I would say it's a decent value for the price. If I want high quality sushi I'll go to the place up by Grand Prairie. It's a step above the place in campus town though. Won't name names, everyone knows. This is the first time I've come in for the buffet though, and probably the last. I was not impressed. It seems like anything that includes tuna uses a weird tuna paste instead of actual tuna pieces. The quality on this seems very low. Secondly, the service was so slow that I ran out of time before I had to return for work and left hungry. At one point, the server brought the bill before I was finished ordering, as if he wanted me to leave. Lastly, the selection of nigiri is very small. From other reviews, it looks like the price used to be $12 instead $14. I think they need to lower it back down if this is the quality that's to be expected. read more

I used to go once a week. Last two times have been a real let down. I couldn't even finish my sushi last time as something was off. I asked my buddy try it and he nearly gagged. Service and quality are failing. I hope they turn it around this was one of my favorites. read more

This is actually my second time going. The first time I went was horrible. It was right after they just reopened. The wait staff had a very sour attitude, we stood around forever until someone finally helped us, and then when we were leaving and commenting on how pretty the place was we got dirty looks from the guy at the counter. This time around I thought I would give it a second chance and now the food was mediocre the sushi cuts where jagged. The sushi was warm and tasted strange, and in the curry my friend got, the meat was full of gristle. The guy at the counter again had a really bad attitude, didn't smile, lead us to our table, then left without looking at us. Shortly after sitting down we noticed that the place smelled like dirty dishes or sewage. One last complaint: the roll I ordered was a Philadelphia roll and came in such huge portions, I had to cut it up with a knife. This is probably the worst highest price restaurant in peoria. Korean bbq is very expensive and the food is terrible. The cabbage kimchi was super old and was disgusting. The service was good and everyone was pleasant and friendly, but it doesn't make up for the lack of terrible food. Bought my daughter sweet and sour chicken thinking that is not a hard dish and it tasted like they have not changed their oil and had a bad aftertaste. It is a great idea for an Asian fusion restaurant but if the food is bad people do not want to pay the kind of money they charge for terrible food. I will gladly pay for good food, even when it may be a little pricey. For 3 adults and one child meal it was $97 and we all left hungry because most of the food was wasted. It was $12.99 for prime rib for Korean bbq and it tasted like frozen sliced deli meat and that is how it was brought to our table---frozen without any sauce. The kalbi was ok but not great. I had crab Rangoon and it was ok too but not better than any of the other Chinese restaurants here in town. The lettuce leafs they brought out were fresh, the setup of the dishes and designs were good and no complaints on rice, only the mixed food dishes were less than tasty. I didn't complain because I don't like to do that but please either get a real Korean cook to cook the Korean food or let that shit go--it is worse than any other Korean restaurant I have been to. I love Korean bbq and was hopeful for this restaurant but have been there twice and will not ever be back. I do not like to leave bad reviews but doing so in hopes that it will change so that I can post a great review. read more

We went to have a nice dinner but was in shorts. Went in there and the hostess did not smile and kind of gave us a dirty look. Well, everyone is entitled to a bad day. We had a table by the Sushi bar. The place had a foul smell like either fishy or toilet smell. Cannot tell the difference. We sat down to order some hot tea. It was not hot at all and was charged for $5 for the tea. Not sure if they stuck it in the microwave or what. Ordered a couple of Sushi rolls. What makes the Sushi good is not only the presentation itself but also the fish/seafood, the rice. They for sure not using the Japanese rice like they supposed to. Rice was not sticky and had no taste. The Wasabi was not hot like it supposed to burn your nose. I heard that they mixed the powder to make it but if it has been mixed for a long time, it loses the flavor. We also ordered Beef Chow Foon. Rice noodle was from a dry pack. Not cool! The bill came to $45 and some change plus tip. Definitely will not visit again! read more

We came in for a our friends birthday with 13 people and everything was absolutely awesome. The service and food was exquisite. Half of us got sushi the other half got habichi. Dona, our server, was beyond efficient. There was never a time we had empty drinks and we were ordering mixed drinks too. The chef was very entertaining and cooked the food perfectly. We did spend a little bit more than expected. But when everything is so good you want to order more and experience more. I'm sure you can enjoy it here without spending so much too. The menu has enough things on it for kids to eat too, as we brought our son and another guest brought her 2 daughters. I highly recommend this place. Eat here now. Unless they're closed. In which case, eat here tomorrow. If you have to work tomorrow, eat here when you have a free moment. If you have prior engagements and can't eat here the next time you have a free moment, call in sick to work and find an alibi to cover your story, then make sure nobody that works with you is eating here when you decide to come in. I was told by many of my friends that this was one of the best places in Peoria for sushi, but my first experience had to be terrible. First, when we walked in there was no one there to greet us or to show us a table. We ended up walking away and when finally someone noticed they caught us at the door. When we were seated, our waitress came over and slammed the menus, napkins, and silverware down on the table. Brushing that off, we were pretty excited for the all you can eat sushi for $13.99. We almost thought this was too good to be true and yet, it was. The sushi was not fresh or great tasting and yes, not every place is going to taste that great, but what really made us mad is the service. We waited 20-30 minutes for the bill and when we asked another waitress, there was attitude and a snotty remark. We were not told the rules for the sushi deal and was caught off guard when the waitress started making snotty remarks on how we were supposed to finish all of the sushi. I was just not impressed with the service at all. read more
