Complimentary edamame. Hot & sour soup $2.50
    Julie T.

We visited on a Friday for dinner. We started with complimentary edamame, miso soup, and hot & sour soup. The soups were hot, good and came out promptly. For mains, we ordered two sushi rolls (Philadelphia and Seafood Tempura) and udon noodle soup. My bad, but I didn't read the menu closely. I prefer Philly rolls with the salmon is inside, but the salmon was on top here. I thought the combo udon noodles would be stir fried; however, I missed that the menu said soup. The udon soup was enormous and can be shared by at least two people. The broth had good flavor, and I loved all the fresh veggies (broccoli, carrot, mushrooms). Quick and friendly service. I would return to try other rolls and entrees. I'll be sure to be more careful reading the menu or asking questions to clarify.

We should have walked back out after noticing the filthy entrance. But we sat down to an empty place for lunch. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. A plate of fried chicken pieces was served with nothing on it. No onions, peppers or pineapple as described on the menu. I asked where the rest was and the waitress said ," We don't do that anymore ". My husband ordered the generals chicken. Again a pile of just chicken. White rice was provided on the side. We will not be going back.

Went here last night for dinner as I had heard lot about it and overall, was not disappointed. (Note: Can be slightly confusing as the sign outside says Sushi Ko.) From the outside the place looks small, but it is quite a decent size inside and is very cozy. Sat down a d the sushi maker (very nice and hilarious) brought over some free edamame while we looked over the menu. Ordered the spring rolls and crab rangoon for apps. The crab rangoon was solid, but spring rolls were fried and didn't have a lot of flavor. My friend, who doesn't care for sushi, ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which she said was pretty standard. I ordered a Golden roll and a California rolls, both of which were excellent. The lady who was our waitress, I believe the owner, was a bit of wet blanket and pretty rude, otherwise service from the staff was excellent.

Ordered for pick up and it took them over 2 hours to prepare. Received steamed instead of fried pot stickers, the generals chicken was not spicy and I have never seen a crab rangoon that looked like this before.

I have been here many times before, the service wasnt horrible, the owner is super nice and friendly. I love supporting his business. Food is decent, the rolls are sometimes extremely big, like too big for 1 bite. The spicy baby octopus is my favorite appetizer, along with the tuna tar tar (which can sometimes be salty. The shrimp udon was a let down. The shrimps are like ant size. And they wont make the shrimp and tempura together. Its one of the other, not both. I think they could have... but they dont want to? Idk... the lady who served us at the time was older so she didnt seem to give a damn lol. She was not friendly she kept sighing everytime she walks around getting stuff we asked for. At one point she wouldnt come back when i needed more water so i got up and got myself the jug of water. Thats when she kinda pretended to care a bit and came over and apologized. Overall experience here 3 out of 5. Ill come here occasionally.

The easiest sushi romance I've ever met, what a menu! So much enticing options that all came out except for the eggrolls in amazing and tasty presentation and going down. Us three guys like to think we are raw fish veterans, hardly a hold back on opinion but this place made it way too easy. We summoned a huge appetizer of edamame, rolls, pot stickers, and Rangoon. I've never seen such a setup before! This stuff is what makes me thrilled to do thee reviews, everyone needs to come experience the awe and wonder of proportions as extra portions of the happy four apps presented happiness to us. It was a sight to down a crab deal, then nibble a soy bean, chomp on a pork package, it didn't stop! The eggrolls as mentioned were the weak part of the meal, veggie and seemingly rolled out of a box. Not quite a fresh tangy easy to eat mix of rolled up stuff I'm used to, but the others made up for it. A daring one among us went for sake. It was a party after all those appetizers anyway; interestingly it arrived warm. Can recommend trying it heated up, entirely different flavor sensations and evolving into more alcoholic acidity as it cools which is the bitter driving me away experience I recall from other sakes. And it was only to get better, the rolls showed up like an advertisement for peace and good will towards all mankind. It was difficult to know how to start so I took pictures and posted it to everywhere hoping to make many eyes jealous. Who cares how socially desperate I look when this food looks this good?! We all dove in and immediately confirmed we must get back here. The house special roll, what a surprise, a winner, one for the books, to judge all future rolls by. It's a must try. Get yourself here, try the chill atmosphere, nice staff, and goodness of the fish.

The Cali Roll came in piles, the Veggie Potstickers and Tempura are just ok. Probably won't eat here again. Edit from 2 hours later: The sushi made me sick. Don't recommend.

Sushi Pop is a restaurant located in a strip mall with lots of parking. As you walk in you are greeted with a smile and welcoming attitude. We were seated and offered drinks soon after we were seated. I loved the complimentary edamame. We ordered a Dragon roll which is eel, cucumber, avacado sushi. I loved the avacado flavor. The vegetable spring roll was full of fresh crunchy veggies. I also drank plum wine mixed with shot of sake which was delicious but a tad bit too sweet for me to have more than one. I was disappointed that they ran out of one of their Japanese beers. Also I did not like dirty dish tub sitting adjacent to the sushi prep table. However the overall experience was pleasurable with subtle background music and most other patrons eating quietly thus creating a relaxing evening.

The rolls were not cheap, and they weren't that good. I'm not sure why my spicy yellow tail roll was so fishy that it left a fishy smell on my palette long after leaving. It shouldn't have tasted that fishy either. Their signature roll was not impressive either. The Shumai was good but it arrived just slightly above warm. The albacore nigiri, was the best part, super soft and yummy. All in all the portions were only ok. The service was quite disconnected. Even at the sushi bar nobody said hello, or checked on the food. The music seemed a bit out of place for a sushi place. (slow jams) Well now we know, on to the next one. I was very disappointed in what I got I ordered three sushi rolls just the regular sushi rolls and it ended up being just over $30 for me to only get like half of the role I'm used to I ordered for me and another family member and this amount that they gave me for $30 was enough for just myself I was really disappointed in the amount that they give you for $30. I will not be coming back here again and I will just wait till I go back to the old Osaka that I used to go to because this one out here in Peoria charge is too much for the little amount of food that they give you. they should really adjust their prices.

Review Visit: November 12th, 2016…read more I wonder if they have a Peoria Buffet in Hong Kong... ha. Ok, lame jokes aside, I may have found a new love at this buffet. Jalapeno Pepper Chicken. Soooo good. I generally get General Tsao's (or Tso's) because it is supposed to have a nice spicy kick to it, but this takes the cake. General is hit and miss at places on spicyness, but I think Jalapeno Pepper Chicken would have a consistent spicy kick due to the... well, peppers. A few of the items on the buffet were meh. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit dough-y. Sugar biscuits had clumps of sugar instead of it being evenly distributed. General Tsao's was not spicy, but was still good. We came here for my friends birthday and I am pretty sure I have been here before to eat. I know my friend comes here at least once a week to get food to go. Yup, they sell food to go. Probably charge by the weight of the container? I don't know. I typically don't add buffets to my travel list. Why exactly? I don't have a specific reason, really. But I've added this and Grand Village Buffet now, so there are exceptions to my rules. This one is a bit pricey. The price for a dinner on a Saturday night was $15 and change. All in all, a pretty good buffet. The service was prompt. Selection was decent and plentiful despite them closing 90 minutes after we got there. The Chinese mustard is not my favorite, but they have packets of the CM I love for take out orders, so I get it there and bring it in for my egg rolls. Love the pad Thai and Kung Pao chicken. The General Tso is good. They have a good variety of specials for lunch and dinner. The crab Rangoon is delicious. The wait staff is always very nice and accommodating. The restaurant is in a strip "mall" and kept up nicely, no outdated decorations I find in so many Chinese restaurants.

Review Visit: October 12th, 2014…read more A fancy version of your typical Chinese restaurant. Asia Grill offers everything you can find at your typical 'hole in the wall' Chinese Restaurant, but more upscale. Now, that is not to slam either this place or any other Chinese place. It was just nice to eat at a more restaurant-style Chinese place than the quick grab-n-go places that are everywhere. The food was pretty good and will run you about $8-11 a person, which is what I consider fair. The service was nice, portions were generous and the restaurant was really nice. Overall, if you want to eat Chinese but don't want the 'take out' variety, hit up Asia Grill. My friends and I really enjoyed it... and so did our bellies!
