Took my two daughters with me at around 1:45pm on Monday to eat tonkotsu ramen while it wasn't busy and to see how the wait was. When we arrived, we got seated near the window which was great as my kiddos can be loud. Maybe a few minutes passed and I was expecting a wait to order food. But, as it wasn't busy at all. The waiter gets our order maybe 5-6 minute wait. Nonetheless, the food didn't take long to arrive. I ordered the eel nigiri, ramen, seared tuna appetizer, and ikura sashimi. All of the food was so good! And the food was represented very well. After a good meal and not having to wait very long, our experience dining there was very enjoyable! After we got the check, the staff member gave my kiddos two Sanrio key chains which they loved so much!! That made their day for sure!! We've been here a few times since Hokkaido opened. It's a nice little restaurant in a strip mall right off the main road. There's plenty of shared parking with all the other businesses. We're greeted as soon as we walked in and are seated immediately. The menu offers a variety of sushi, sashimi, ramen, katsu (several versions), desserts, and beverages. The inside has nice decor and plenty of seating with tables, booths, and bar seating. We enjoyed fried oysters, katsudon, and spicy katsu ramen. All were pretty tasty and prepared well. Service was good and the restaurant is clean. We have enjoyed several meals here and will probably continue to do so. Recommend giving Hokkaido a try. read more

This was our first time at Hokkaido. It's definitely a trendy place, with a great vibe. The staff are hard-working and were very kind. Service was slow (waited 45 minutes for 4 rolls), but the place was packed. I can't shake one thing that really bothered me that I saw listed on the menu. One of the rolls is called a "gas chamber" roll. I can't think of a way in which this term is used without reference to killing humans or animals. I should have mentioned this to the staff, so apologies for bringing this up in a review, but not sure why I'm the first to say this. I hope they would consider changing the name. read more

This restaurant was a nice addition to sneads ferry! Came here on a Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm. Parking very easy in the lot. Three of us were able to be seated immediately. Staff was kind and very attentive. The menu has a variety of dishes such as ramen, hibachi, and sushi. I ordered the tiger roll and we ordered the spicy tuna gyoza as an appetizer. I really enjoyed my roll! Everything tasted fresh with good flavors. The inside is cute with nice decor but it was freezing inside. Prices seemed average for sushi. Honestly Amazing. The hibachi.... it was just so so so good. Not boring white rice but it came with a fried rice and lots of veggies. Very generous portions. A lot of the rolls are only $7 which in my opinion is great. We got 4 rolls (including a specialty roll) and a salmon hibachi plate and a beer for $70. That was way more than enough food for the two of us. Everything that came out to other tables around us looked phenomenal. I have nothing bad to say really. the only thing is the sunshine roll I think would've been yummier with just fruit, cause avocado and veggies with whipped cream is a little strange. Had the chance to dine at Hokkaido within a week after returning from Japan. Having fallen in love completely with the food in county I was curious to see if this place lived up to the hype my friends had been boasting about. After leaving from a delicious dinner, I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. Hokkaido offers an optimal menu with all of the classic favorites. The ramen comes with all the additional inclusions and the curry is a generous serving with quality protein cuts. The sushi bar delivers aesthetically attractive plates and the menu there is equally as great. The hostess is professional, courteous, and they make you feel welcomed. As a more formal option of Asian cuisine within the Sneads Ferry area, Hokkaido is a fantastic go to that won't disappoint. The only minor issues we experienced was a rather noticeable wait time before we were served and getting additional service once food was served. And, the prices defiantly reflect that of a "we know we are the only option" location. But they are not painful. read more

Prepare to pay a little extra. But...to me it's worth it. We usually pick up our food there (and I LOVE the takeout bags!). Online ordering makes it easy to customize each dish. We haven't had any issues so far. The food is flavorful and cooked properly. Steak hibachi, cooked Mid Rare comes to you moist, tender and juicy. What a welcome edition to the area and great location ! I have heard great things so I stopped by on way to Jacksonville from day at beach. I was seated as soon as I came in. The place was busy with lunch goers and I had time to look over the menu. I was hungry and they had so many items it was hard to choose! I decided on sushi and miso soup! The restaurant is nicely decorated and cozy. The staff was very nice and helpful. My sushi was so good as was soup. Miso is my favorite and this was best I w had in awhile. March 25, 2025 My group Sneads Ferry Lunch Bunch...met this day for lunch. There were about 12 of us ladies that were experiences Hokkaido for the 1st time. Service was better than excellent. Food was spectacular served in gorgeous plate and bowls. This is a top notch Restaurant. Even their decor got a lot of attention. I loved the beautiful balls of light over our table. Their fried rice, incredibly bland. I ordered their "ice cream cone" style hand roll. First, it wasn't an ice cream cone style handroll at all. It was some sort of stupid looking taco. Major disappoint. That was a flop. Why on earth they do that.....? Couldn't tell you, but it was ridiculous. The sushi was what you would expect, decent. This place is absolutely fantastic every time I visit! I ordered the spicy edamame and it may have been one of the top 10 most delicious things ever. I have no idea what they put on it to make it so perfect. I also had the sashimi dinner. It came with 18 pieces of chefs choice (which were the average pieces that you get anywhere). So far I've had the ramen, the hibachi, and the sushi, and I'd say the hibachi is probably my favorite; I usually prefer sushi or ramen at a spot like this, but their ramen is a little sweet, oddly enough, and the sushi is usually falling apart (but still tasty).
