I'm quite picky with hair salons since a bad haircut can really affect my confidence, but I felt reassured by this studio's solid reviews. The salon has a small parking lot in the back, and there is also street parking available. Just be sure to read all the street signs in the residential areas! I was feeling a bit flustered when I arrived due to running late, but Marisol's warm and friendly demeanor instantly put me at ease. She took the time to really listen to what look I wanted, and she patiently answered my many questions about hair maintenance and gave me her personal product recommendations. Once Marisol began working on my hair, it was instantly obvious that she boasts both experience and expertise in her craft. She worked both thoroughly and efficiently, and she made sure to check in with me periodically to see how I was doing. I'd mentioned that I was getting my hair cut and styled for my birthday celebration, and she helped me style my hair into a gorgeous, silky blowout. I forgot to take before/after photos at the salon, but I received SO many compliments on my hair at my birthday party! The photo I attached was taken a few days after my appointment, and you can still see how shiny and bouncy my hair still was on day 3. My hair feels so much healthier, and the length and layers feel wonderfully lighter for the hot summer months. She wanted to get a short hair cut and highlights- after she couldn't stop looking in the mirror and said she should start wearing contact lenses because she felt so amazing with her new hair! (This coming from a girl who would wear baggy pants and xxxl shirts). Fast forward to a new location- Marisol has been doing my younger daughter's fantasy color blue hair and updated the older's cut and highlights. She is an absolute master technician with color (she did a mix of cobalt blue and a richer darker blue for the younger girl's hair which makes it look glossy and thicker than it is) and did gorgeous highlights for the older. Had my second appt with Sandra to go lighter with the highlights she did last time. She prioritizes hair health over aesthetics and that is important to me too, so I wasn't sure if my hair was strong enough to withstand going too light right away (I had dark dark brown/black hair). I also had Hair Botox from another salon (Groupon) so had to be specific with the shampoo/conditioners I used so she let me bring mine. Sandra is kind, easy to talk to, listens and addresses my concerns. Note in the pictures the bottom of my hair looks a tiny bit dry but that's because the other salon I went to applied all the Hair Botox at the top of my head and barely at the ends so that's why the top of my head looks flatter and straighter, just poor application from another stylist, not Sandra's doing. I learned with Hair Botox my hair dents more easily so Sandra took extra time to fix dents that framed my face and she just knew exactly how to style it better. Sandra really takes her time with my hair, she is gentle with brushing and handling my hair. I went on a Saturday, a few other clients were there, their other male stylists are talented too. Xavier at Hola Bonita is a sensational hair stylist. His cutting techniques were off something I've never seen nor have experienced before. He was very GENTLE from start to finish. A head massage and mask treatment was included in the wash, which was another first for me. I wanted to keep my length, but was afraid that too much would have to be cut off because of how damaged my hair was. We communicated throughout the cut. We kept most of the length. He added subtle layers to ensure a clean and healthy look. The blowout and style was breathtaking!! This was by far the best cut and style I've ever had.
