Parking was easy outside and no issues staying warm during the winter storm from our room. Only feedback that is important to note, the walls are thin so if you're a light sleeper it could be tough with noises from rooms adjacent or noise in the hall.

The Inn itself had about 62 rooms but could use a bit of upgrades, not in the rooms which were furnished nicely with the standard being two queen beds. Added to that was a desk as well as two comfortable chairs, close to the window. Nothing at all was in the slightest wrong with the furnishings of the room. The problem I had was that the Wi-Fi never, ever was usable other than one time about 3:30 in the morning when I happened to wake up and read on my Kindle at that outrageous hour. I communicated with the front desk a number of times, probably three times for the 3 days when we stayed there. When I checked out I told the General Manager who was running the front desk that they needed some extenders or something regarding their Wi-Fi but she informed me that they had them at either ends of the hallway on the second floor (where all rooms are located) and in the middle. I thought perhaps our room 204 being at the end of the hall that was the problem but obviously it was not. Also advertised on its website was that they had a bar in the lower level but it was not open or usable with the explanation being that they did not have enough people using it to keep it open other than for the special events which were booked at the Inn. The parking area had 4 spaces close to the front door, but the rest were on higher ground, requiring a bit of exercise to reach the Registration desk. The Wi-Fi and the not open bar are the reason for the deduction of one star, almost exclusively due to the Wi-Fi. In addition to the rooms, other good attributes was a large indoor swimming pool and a sumptuous breakfast, served buffet style from 7:30 AM to 10 AM. The breakfast dining area had outdoor seating which we used on one cooly comfortable morning. Added to the metal tables and chairs with a covering umbrella was the joy of a dozen ducks. TIP: Ask at the desk for bags of seeds to feed the ducks, adding to the joy of the exterior, raised patio above a smaller water feature.

You can tell they take pride in the cleanliness of this place. It's in a great location that is walkable to all the shops and restaurants and short drive to sight seeing or activities. But I love how they even had a nice little area for kids to play with games and coloring books. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was good too. I would book this place again.

We booked in advance over the phone. Check in and out were both super easy. The office has movies and books (even for kids) that you can borrow. They also have coffee, water, and ice available at all times. The room was very small-- two beds, bathroom, mini fridge, desk, and tv-- but that was okay since we didn't really spend any time other than sleeping and showering there. Someone came and emptied our trash, made our beds, and gave us fresh towels every day. Everything seemed nice and clean, zero complaints. Outside they have other little cabins and a fire pit with multiple chairs and maybe one picnic table. Really cute, well kept area! There were also several benches outside of the rooms where guest can sit and enjoy the weather, talk to each other, play music, etc. We frequently saw a lady outside her cabin painting the garden scenery. Blowing Rock seems to gather an older crowd, so being in our 20s and heavily tattooed, you get some looks. However, the staff at the inn was very friendly and enjoyed talking to our infant daughter. Once our room was ready, she offered to help with our bags, walked us upstairs, and shared a little of the inn's fascinating history. Our room was spacious, fresh, exceptionally clean, and a sheer delight. Kerry welcomed us with fresh water, cookies, and a variety of snacks. She also showed us the butler's pantry, which was thoughtfully stocked with herbal teas and coffee. The 11:00 a.m. checkout time was another generous touch, as many inns require guests to leave by 10:00. We were also welcomed with two drink vouchers for the inn's beautiful bar and restaurant. A full-service breakfast was included, and it was truly five-star. Honestly, they served the best grits I have ever tasted! From the gracious service to every carefully planned detail of our stay, we were completely enchanted. My only recommendation is to make dinner reservations at the restaurant well in advance--it is very popular and truly a must during your stay. We cannot wait to return.

Stressful and careless resort…read more We love visiting Appalachian Mnt all four seasons. We have used ABnB, private renting, and Marriott as well in the past. We really liked to rent from moms/pops and the cabin setting more so we decided to try Willow Valley when I saw the listing from Interval International. As much as I was expecting cozy and relaxing time with my family for 6 days, it turned out to be a very stressful and quite a shock how careless the management here. Checked in to a Cabin and thought it was cute and cozy but quite concerned the fact that we had informed the reservation we have disabled veteran but the entry to in-cabin stairs were very steep, especially in the cabin. Next thing my son is screaming "there's rat poop on the bed!!" and sure enough- mouse feces all over the bed and the floor. To ruin the evening we had positive attitude trying to understand and be optimistic. We started stripping the blanket, and pillow covers to wash it then ALL the pillows had brownish-yellow stains. We brought only one 3 oz of laundry detergent not expecting we would do blanket and linen laundry on our first day there. When we turn on the shower to wash off our travels- the water was brown- coming out of the shower head. We had to run it for a while to clear out. This is truly something we did not want to do driving 5 hours in the rain. The next day it was snowing. It was freezing in the cabin and the heater would not get high enough to keep us warm. We were directed to get log for the fire place so we accepted that was what needed to be done. Then the dish washer leaked and flooded the whole floor. We asked to be moved to another room but no room were available. Asked some assistance to the manager and we were told the GM is not there. When we asked what can be done, the front desk lady raised her voice and started yelling. I was very much dumbfounded by her behavior. My best friend, her husband, and I stayed in two of their beautiful, cozy rooms in the days leading up to Christmas. The inn grounds were lit up with sparkling lights as I approached the inn, and I was blown away by the incredible Christmas decor throughout the entire establishment. Debra and Ken were incredible hosts who paid attention to all of the details, ensuring we had the most comfortable stay. We had so much fun exploring all that the outdoors have to offer, and I was dazzled by the surrounding Christmas tree farm. Upon entering check in was quick and easy. Our dog was welcomed and we could get any room (not special animal rooms) Our room had a wonderful view of the mountains. The room wasn't all that big but it had everything you needed for short or long stays. Full sized refrigerator, microwave,dish washer, cook top, coffee maker and all your dishes and utensils. (Missing anything just ask the front desk) **** they didn't clean our room- we were gone 8am-4 pm- i had to hunt down a member of the cleaning crew for new towels. *****floor in shower really slippery and mold growing. I used the gym equipment was new and plenty of room. Pool looked nice- we didn't use (went fishing instead) Lots of nice seating in front and back of building, dog walking areas We used the grills outside- big Weber grills- we had are our own utensils- they do have some if you need them. **** smoking station outside of main doors- yuck- you have to walk through the smoke to get in building and it is by where you eat. Breakfast was good plenty of options, coffee and tea all day even non-dairy creamer options!
