Hold Out is such a great new brewery. All of their beers are fantastic, and you can order small 4 oz pours so you can taste everything--something I love as a small person! Lots of hazys which is my favorite! Food is also excellent, especially the beets and the squash and peach salad (sounds weird but is so so delicious). Right now make reservations ahead of time! First off, the beer is great and has changed regularly. So much so, that we've had a different IPA every week with our takeout lunch. THE FOOD: WOW! My fiancé loves the 50/50 burger and argues it's one of the best in town. I've found my favorite Cobb salad in town here at Hold Out. THE WINGS ARE LEGIT. If you like a lighter beer and/or something fruity, then this is your place, but if you're craving a strong, hoppy IPA, then you might not love this brewery. We tried the New Juice Goofin' hazy IPA and the Holdfellow saison. The IPA gave off a big orange juice vibe... in a good way! The saison was light and tasty with a hot dog, which by the way, was absolutely stellar for 7 bones. We recommend the Kung Pao hotdog with curly fries. Great atmosphere for a date or catching up with a group of friends. Super cute brewery and in a fun area if you're visiting Austin. So many great things to say... I first tried their togo offering and everything was on point. From the careful packaging to the organized pick up process to the handwritten thank you note, this business excels in making customers feel safe and appreciated during the pandemic. The 50/50 burger and curly fries were delicious - and their fried pies are a MUST (I'm partial to the chocolate pecan). Their beers are fantastic and refreshingly drinkable. Last Light Porter, Liquid Television Hazy Pale, and Bjorn Again Texan Kveik Pale are my current favorites. They seem to be releasing new beers every couple of weeks, too. Update: I checked out their patio reservation option this past weekend and the experience was stellar. Their covered patio is huge, breezy (and has fans), and their large tables are all spaced well apart (but without feeling weird and empty). Reservations last 1hr 45min, which is plenty of time to chill, enjoy a relaxed meal and multiple drinks. They're currently offering table service by a friendly, knowledgeable and masked server (masks are also required of customers when not seated). We tried their Kitchen Sink Salad, Kung Pao Dog and Draft Beer Flight - all were excellent. It was so nice to be out of the house, support a local business, and feel absolutely safe doing so. Seems like a great place for groups, lots of picnic style tables. Various varieties of beers, heavy on the IPA, but decent. Don't expect much help from the "servers" or anyone floating around. People sitting at tables next to me were asked, on multiple occasions, if they needed anything but I sat with an empty glass for that whole time (more than 15 min) and they didn't think twice to ask (maybe because I was alone, or not getting food yet like the other tables?). I left without trying food or another drink but expressed my disappointment. Many other places nearby with better beer and friendlier service as of now. read more

Recently hosted an event here. Food was amazing and the service was the best ever! Everyone had a great time. The Chef worked with us on the menu selection. We had 200 people show up all at once and the staff kept the food coming for my hungry crowd. Wish I could give them more stars! read more

Not sure why they think smaller parties should be forced to eat faster. Parties of 2 only get a reservation for 1 hour and 15 min. That was pretty crap when they were busy and short staffed and service was slow. I get being short staffed. It happens. Shortening my time because you feel like only 2 people don't deserve the same as other parties js pretty lame and doesn't making for a pleasant experience. I came here with some friends on a Saturday and it was surprisingly packed at 1pm! Must be the brunch crowd. The beers were tasty and there was free parking at a huge lot across the street. The location is hidden from the rest of downtown and has more of an East Side vibe. My friends and I sat both outside and inside. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience! Super rude staff at the counter harassing me about a mask just to place an order and sit down. Only place in Austin over a 5 day weekend that refused to serve unmasked people. Apparently covid only spreads when you're in the main building ordering. SCIENCE. What a joke. Food and beer was OK, but there are PLENTY of awesome open and free restaurants in Austin that don't have arbitrary and ineffective covid rules. I wouldn't advise walking here with a hungry family in the cold if you're opposed to conforming to mask mandates. We escaped from Seattle to have a non locked down weekend, super bummed to have caved and supported this place. They'd probably be checking vax cards like back home if they could. Service was quick and staff was friendly, but we were not impressed with the food. We ordered a breakfast bowl to share between 2 people and it was decently portioned for a light meal. But it was probably the saltiest breakfast salad we've ever had. It's tough, but this may be my favorite brewery in town. I've been three times now and it's always felt like a safe experience. I've had Gin as my server all three times and she's amazing! TLDR: amazing food and exceptional beer! I'll start by saying the food here is phenomenal. If every chicken burger tasted as good as theirs did, I'd probably never eat a beef burger again. It's that damn good. I also took my mom here, who loves a good salad, and she said the kitchen sink salad is one of the best salads she's ever had. The food here is incredible. But let's get to the beer. I order craft beer for a restaurant, and let me tell you, the beers here are exceptional. For IPAs, Pales, and lighter beers, this is the place to be. Definitely solidified hazy pales as my favorite style of beer. I'll definitely be here once a week at least! read more
