Such a cool bar. Has a hipster dive bar feel to it which I didn't know I needed in my life lol. The food is also really good. Very classic bar food with an elevated twist to it. Get the Mozzarella Sticks!! Sooooo good. Smash burger was really good too, not a huge burger but tasty.

Nunya while new (and fun to say!) is the kind of east side bar that feels like it's been here forever -- laid-back, dimly lit, and just the right amount of divey. The star of the menu is their beloved chopped cheese: perfectly seasoned beef, melty cheese, all coming together in that comforting, no-fuss way. No Ponies here! Pair it with a full-size High Life (served ice cold, naturally) and you've got the perfect low-key night. The vibes are easygoing, the pool table's always in play, and it's the sort of place you can roll into solo or with friends. The owner has a 14 year lease so hoping they do well! Pro tip: Check their daily food and drink specials!

Regulation Hot dog (iykyk), curly fries, and garlic parm wings.

We were definitely underdressed, but the overall vibe is semi-casual with a lot of people dining there before hitting the bars. We got the Smashburger, gumbo, and shrimp Poboy. The gumbo was the best I've ever had. Even though we got the cup size it was very rich and filling. The highlight was our bartender, Rick. He was incredibly attentive, skilled, and even told us a little bit about the history of the place as a former boxing gym. It's hard to find such a down to Earth spot here in Austin and I'm really looking forward to going back.

We only stopped by for a cocktail, but the menu looks fabulous. We did see some of their entrees, and the burgers looked wonderful. The shrimp cocktail had jumbo shrimp. Keeping with the NOLA theme, they serve po-boys, gumbo, raw Gulf and East Coast oysters, and grilled oysters. There is also a very comfortable shaded patio out back. A return visit to explore their menu is on our calendar. If you are an early bird, happy hour is Tues - Fri 2 - 6 PM.

The sound and TVs were all pretty great for watching the game, and they had a ton of space. It was nice having the fake grass and picnic tables in the outdoor areas because it really added to the vibe while still being well shaded throughout. The food was good. During the game we shared the Fried Pickles, which were crispy and well breaded with good pickle chips, as well as their Green Chili Queso, which was also excellent. The chips had good seasoning and the queso was thick. For a main entrée, I ordered the patty melt. It was melty with good flavor, but I would have preferred chopped onions over sliced onions. The Sriracha mayo was great and added a kick I was not expecting. The drinks were decently priced for East 6th all things considered. I was not drinking that night and ordered a mocktail variation of their Lavender Haze using zero proof Empress gin instead of the regular Empress gin. They still charged the same price, which felt a little unfair, but it is what it is. Overall, it was a great experience and a solid bar for games. I could see myself coming back for another event since they handled a large crowd well. Aesthetically, the spot is really nice too, which adds to the positives. Not bad for a last minute decision. You order at the bar and pay and the server brings the food. I ordered the wings and waffles which came with a 5 piece and one large waffle ($16). This combo comes with fresh bacon bits on top and chives. We also ordered a mimosa carafe (with pineapple juice) which was only $12! Such a great deal! My meal was great and the servers were such nice gentlemen! There's outdoor seating and TVs inside if you enjoy watching football. This is a very casual place so you don't need to dress up. You can usually find paid parking in this area too!

The atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed, and easy to settle into whether you're there for a quick drink or hanging out for the night. The drinks are consistently great, and they also have really solid weekday food specials. The sliders and tots are definitely the go-to items on the menu and always hit the spot after a few drinks. One thing I especially appreciate is how much effort they put into the themed décor during Christmas and Halloween. It really adds personality to the space and makes coming back during the holidays feel fun and memorable every year. Just an overall great neighborhood bar with good vibes and a lot of character.

One of my stipulations for relocation was to be within walking distance of my beloved Nickel City. Guess what? I am! Less than a five-minute walk. I love this place so much. It's not always about drinking. In fact, quite often I'll do mocktails, water, or soda. It's about community and friendship. The vibe at NC can't fully be expressed in words. It has to be experienced. The staff treat locals and tourists like friends. And, if you're lucky enough, you actually become friends. They're like a family. Same can be said about patrons, whether regulars, sometimers, or tourists, everyone feels the love. Everyone just gets it! They have some of the best cocktails around. The frozen Irish coffee is incredible. Espresso martinis on tap? Yes, please! And if you want the best bar/comfort food ever then order from their food truck, Delray Cafe. Love all the TVs and open concept. I hate to jump right to the negative but let's get into it.... For starters, the restaurant was not very busy and somehow ran out of all beer while serving our table... I feel like that just can't happen at a bar on 6th street. Secondly, I ordered a burger but what I found strange was that the menu didn't list all of the ingredients/sauces that would come on it? .. Again all things making me think they opened too early. And I can't even sugar coat the wings... I'm a sauce girly so I love every sauce.. but I'll just say don't get the wings. I think if I came back here it would be to just watch a game but I probably wouldn't come for the food. I really hate to leave a bad review on a new place. I hope this place can save itself bc I feel like the east side could use a good sports bar.
