My husband and I were craving a sweet so we decided to stop by and grab a donut from this place. They sell sodas, energy drinks, cigs and are attached to a Chinese food place. The people were friendly. The store is older, worn, but clean as far I could tell. We chose 2 donuts, they had a fairly decent selection of donuts. Check out my photos. Two of my favorite things in one place. Excellent donuts and pastries. Great service, always a smile and a greeting. The Chinese food is also great, not greasy , fresh vegetables and tender meat seasoned just right. We'll be back. As a matter of fact we've been back for Chinese food twice. Been here a lot of times since it's a local spot that's been here for years. The owners and employees are friendly and make a point to remember you, if not by name but definitely by face. You'd think they know everybody that comes in by the way they greet each other. They open early and the donuts and muffins taste marvelous! Great Chinese fast food! Our family has never been disappointed. We usually order party trays that their great chef always makes fresh! I would move this to five starts if they had an online/phone ordering system... I must say, that most of the time, we have been fortunate to get an employee that accommodated a phone order; it's those few times when we have not been as fortunate that makes it frustrating, as it is those times that we have to physically go in to pay and sit waiting a half-hour or more for our food to be prepared... I really like their donut shop. The donuts are fresh and really good. The Chinese food is all right it's not the best. Feel like the side where they sell Chinese food needs to be a little bit cleaner and updated, but like I said, the donuts and ice cream are pretty good. Their drinks are really good too. Phelan best kept secret! Food is amazing! The workers are "small town friendly." You can get a banana split at the ice-cream bar. Food is cooked fresh in small batches so it always tastes authentic and consistently flavorful. Ambiance is small town Cafe that is bright and cheery. read more

This place used to be my favorite stop in the morning but the last two times I've been there it's been horrible!! Just talked to the manager she claimed it's always been that way. We stopped by to get donuts and coffee. The cashier was wearing a mask under her nose while she served two customers before us. She put a fresh pot of coffee while her nose hanging out of her mask. That defeats the entire purpose of wearing a mask. I asked politely if she would cover her nose while serving us. She was nice about it to my face. But I can tell she was annoyed. That's ok. This review is to inform people of the type of establishment they're about to visit. This place sells masks, they have plastic all over the place so clearly they want business but upon witnessing this I realized they care about their business, not the customer. If they did, they would cover their noses to protect their community. Whatever your opinion on face masks, facts are facts and this is what I saw. Their donuts get a 4 out of 10. They're ok. This place is a definite "must try" if you love Chinese food. This is the second time I've had this place, and it hasn't failed me yet. I've only gone around 11am as everything is just being made. The orange chicken is unlike any other place... It's crispy and really orange-y. The chow mein is tasty and made just right. Who would have guessed that a donut place served amazing Chinese food? There is a good size seating area to sit and eat. They also make this donut with chocolate chips inside, but you have to be there early to get them, as they go really fast. This is the best, if not only, donut shop in the Tri-Community. Growing up in Pinon Hills, this place was a Saturday morning treat. The donuts are made fresh each day and are consistently good. I am always a sucker for their maple bar. Simply because it just tastes better than other shops, but that could be the nostalgia talking. Besides the donuts, locals come here for their morning coffee, lotto tickets and cigs - be sure to know what you want when it's your turn. This place can get packed pretty quick! Their donuts are adequate but slightly heavy. The buttermilk donuts are really dry and taste like cardboard with sugar on them. The Chinese food used to be pretty good with sizable portions but I've seen both fall off in the last few months. About four months ago I ordered wonton soup which used to be way better than it should've been but instead got stale hard rotten wontons that made both my girlfriend and I sick. I let this incident slide but about a week ago my girlfriend and I went in and ordered lunch specials both with mushroom chicken and black pepper chicken. Within 20 minutes of consuming a small portion of the food we both got the runs which we weren't happy about. I took the food back the following day and with some reluctance and an overwhelming amount of questions they did refund me for the food but not the eggrolls or the drinks which I think is pretty damn cheap. You don't make a couple of people sick with rotten food and then nickel and dime them when they come back for a refund. Anyhow, I'm not happy with any place that gives me food poisoning and is unapologetic about the issue. I will not be back. read more
