Just a bad spot in an area where there aren't many public options. I guess you could say Hole In the Wall is actually kinda like a glory hole... just gross inside, used up and all around not a good idea. You walk in and the whole front of the house is vacated, dark and empty. Then you hear a voice yelling from the back of the building saying "back here!" Normally I'd never put myself in a situation where I could get my kidneys harvested... but I was obviously packin heat and kinda enticed to see how it was all going to play out. Ultimately... the whole front area of purchasable guns pulled out of the building cause it was so poorly ran. Pay a few bucks at a private range and keep your ass out of a shittily ran public range that looks like a 58 year old heroine addict prostitute. ‍ read more

I am happy to update my review of Hole in the Wall. There have obviously been positive changes in staffing and service which make this an enjoyable place to shop and to shoot. Their selection of firearms for sale is appropriate for a shop their size. Staff willingly searched for a handgun and quoted me a fair price. In recent months, Hole in the Wall has undergone some big changes in their floor layout and access to the shooting range, all for the good. 5 years ago I wrote a scathing review and I am glad to be able to update all of y'all and let you know that I will be returning to Hole in the Wall for future firearms purchases. My husband passed away and I found some guns... I don't know anything about guns and their value, so, I took them to a gun shop in W. Richland. The staff gave me some values & offered to consign them. I declined. Then, I brought them to Hole In The Wall. The atmosphere was much more welcoming, professional and busy! I received fantastic service and values based on online research the clerk performed, which was accurate. Having moved to the TriCities a little more than a year ago, I have always been intrigued by the Hole in the Wall Gun Shop and Range. Let's face it, you just can't beat that name! So, after lunch we drove over there to check it out. Now, I wasn't exactly shopping for a gun, but I wanted to check the store out and look for a new holster for my Smith and Wesson J Frame. As we walked in, it looked like your average gun shop, large counter, a couple of guys behind it and two or three customers. I work retail and when a customer comes in and I am with another customer, I always give them a shout out and tell them I will be with them ASAP. There was no greeting, no eye contact, no nod of the head to let us know that we were valued customers. Even though, I wasn't on a buying trip, I had my eye on a Ruger LCP II .380 ACP pocket pistol. A salesman came out of the back room, greeted us and then showed us the Ruger. When I mention that we were there to find a holster for my revolver, He muttered something about not being familiar with holsters, and pointed us towards the wall with hundreds of holsters on it. Hum . . . . did anybody ever hear about customer service? So here we are, my wife and I trying to find out where in the world the J Frame holsters were. After about ten minutes of frustration, we left. On the way home we decided to stop by Ranch and Home, and had a completely different customer experience. We were immediately greeted by a young salesman named, Kyle. He knew his stuff. He showed the Ruger pocket pistol and we then asked about the holster situation he knew his stock well enough to know that they did not have a J Frame concealed carry holster in stock. We started to leave but came back for one more look at the Ruger. Kyle was there immediately. To make a long story short, we ended up buying the Ruger. I ordered a lower receiver from their online store about two months ago. I have called multiple times, telling me it would be there this week, and then today they told me it was in, but they could t give it to me because the owner was not there. I decided to go in to just get a refund and go somewhere else like Talos Tactical or R&H to get this darn thing. Low behold I walk in and the owner is there, has my lower receiver, and gets it to me that day after I say the magic word "refund". He told me that the manufacturer must have had a shortage, but two weeks ago when I called they said that they never even ordered my product after a MONTH. There was no communication on my order, every piece of info on this gun I had to go and fight for. And two months later of phone tag and so much other crap, I can tell you to NOT order online from here. If you're buying from a third party I'd definitely recommend not setting them up as your FFL. Go somewhere else for your firearm needs. A seedy pawn shop would be better than this place read more

A pistol range less than a 5 minute drive from my house, frickin' awesome! The guys there seemed friendly enough and had us set up with a couple lanes real quick. They had an amusing assortment of silhouettes to choose from - we went with a guy holding a woman hostage and a nazi zombie. I turned the guys face into swiss cheese and didn't hit the woman - until i tried to shoot the dude in the junk anyway. If you don't have your own firearm, eye and/or ear protection they have all this stuff available. Also they have a good selection of ammo, I even was able to find 10mm which can be a pain in the butt for me to get. Plan on the range feeling like a sauna during the summer. The range rules state only handgun or 22LR ammunition. I asked if I could bring a rifle that has been converted (i.e. a AR-15 with a 22 upper) and they said it would be no problem at all. Yay! This place has a number of other things for sale such as firearms, cleaning supplies and I think I saw some reloading stuff. I don't know, Ive been to fancier ranges sure but its so close to home and has everything I need to have a fun afternoon of shooting how could I give it anything but 5 stars. In the end range access for two people and 2 (nicer) silhouettes it was somewhere between 20-25 bucks (brought my own eyes, ears, pistols and ammo). read more

Hole in the Wall is both a firearms store and an indoor shooting range. While they don't have the accessories selection of the Ranch and Home (big store just down the street), they have 10 lanes for pistol and rifle shooting. I bought some ammo and cleaning gear, and shot off 50 rounds from my pistol on their range. Well lit and good ventilation, it was a good experience. I'll go back as I have the opportunity. (I'm visiting on a work project and don't live here.) The staff isn't outgoing, but they were friendly enough and helpful when I engaged them. Firearms pricing seemed competitive, though they don't have a huge selection. I'm sure they could get whatever you want (within reason) if you asked, though. read more

My boyfriend ordered a lower receiver on February 26th. It's now April 14th and it is still not here. It's been almost two months and they have had almost no communication or professionalism here. They are happy to take your money upfront and then have you play the guessing game. It's been almost 2 months! It's completely unfair that we've been waiting this entire time. It is with a heavy heart that I must admit I cannot go to hole in the wall any longer. I have practiced there for ages and even bought fire arms there. Today I went in and signed in and tried to select a target. Absolutely none with a head. I accepted the fact that they felt it was racist when they got rid of the terrorist type target, I accepted when they took away the target with the white guy in the army jacket because it represented hatred, I accepted when they just went to a silloute of a person with a head shot and now they have even done away with that. I asked the older guy who looks like he is white and asain about this and he said just use one of the other targets and shoot for the center target in the body. I tried to explain to him that even stevie wonder could hit an 18 inch wide target and your mind gets conditioned to shooting at a certain area. He just shrugged his head and walked off like I was nothing. I may not be their best customer but I am/was a customer who enjoyed my time on the range. At this time I feel that I must stop frequenting their business until things change. They weren't even interested in buying personal targets even if I prepay for them.. read more

I can understand the mixed reviews for this place; it is a little quirky. I don't spend a lot of time in gun shops or shooting galleries, and am not really a part of the culture; but for me, this place is ok. It's a long established gun shop, though they lack a decent gunsmith; no worries, there's one in town... I've bought and traded a number of handguns here over many years, and I think they make a decent fair deal and are thorough in the paperwork. The range is decidedly a bit of a pit, but, it works for me on the limited time I spend to sight in my weapons or try out a new pistol. If you know what you want and can communicate, they will accommodate you and are quite helpful with a fair amount of knowledge and insight. They used to sell cheap reloads for target shooting, but don't seem to anymore--but, you can buy your own and bring it no worries. All in all, it is the Hole in the Wall, and it works. read more

I have never in life seen such terrible customer service. My husband and I walked in interested in a new 38 for concealment. There were 4 customers in the store portion. So I understand no greeting when we walked in. When we finally had the attention of an employee. We were asked what we wanted. My husband asked to look at a gun. The employee pulled the gun checked the chamber handed it to us. Told another Customer he would have to wait to fill out paperwork. Then walked away. Then came back over 20 seconds later to ask if we were done. Took the gun back and walked away. Despite the poor customer service my husband wanted to start the paperwork. But was again ignored. Hole In The Wall will always be the place where I come to shoot and purchase firearms from! The staff were very helpful and informant about guns and helped us decide on the best forearm for us to get for home defense. We ordered from their amazing online store later that day. It's a little bit longer of a wait, but it is definitely worth it to get the proper gun. The employees helping us out with shooting were incredible in teaching us proper firearm etiquette, how to load the magazine, load our guns, fix a jam, etc. All in all, it's a fantastic store with a great indoor firing range, and a wide selection to choose from. I had been there before and had a great experience. I took my kid there who is visiting from California and was her first time firing a weapon. I get why some people might expect the red carpet treatment but lets face it, the bygone days of over the top bend over backwards customer service are just by and gone. With the exception of Gabby and one of the other guys behind the counter. They made a very nervous, self conscious teen ager feel very welcome and confident while also educating about the weapons/ammo we were going to use. Gabby took the time in a very busy gun range to go over proper grip, reloading, and safety. At one point the rental Glock 17 had jammed and the guy behind the counter came to help and explained the problem without hesitation and was very professional. She did great and when we left, for the rest of the day, it's all she talked about. This place is a pit and (in my opinion) is only able to stay open because it is the only indoor range in the area. I continue to be disappointed by how poorly maintained the range is. I took my wife in for some target practice over the weekend and not only were several lanes inoperable, but even those that were functioning had lights out or had cardboard mounts for the targets that were barely serviceable. Garbage cans were overflowing and the empty casings on the floor hadn't been addressed for a long time. It is a disgrace. On top of it, they charge $14.50 per hour per person regardless of whether or not there are enough lanes for each shooter to have their own lane and no system for keeping track of how long people are using the lane. Despite all that, they had lines of people waiting to shoot, so good for them I guess. This same formula has worked for them for years without going out of business so I don't expect it to change, but wanted to at least give potential users a heads up on what to expect before they go there... read more

Staff was rude and inattentive. Gun selection was modest at best and all were overpriced. Ammo selection was non-existent and it too was extremely overpriced. I came into the store looking to buy a .22 rifle and shoot my Glock 19 on their range, potentially purchasing a membership. After this experience not only do I not feel comfortable shooting there, but I do not even feel safe. With there level of attention who knows whats going on in the range. The staff were all on their phones the whole time, and the only time they even acknowledged me was when I went up to them directly. I went up and asked if they had any .22LR and literally the guy behind the counter didn't take his eyes off his phone and just said "nope". I have been to several gun ranges both indoor and out and by far this is the most unprofessional place I have ever been. Without finding anything worth spending my money on I left and told the guy behind the counter "have a good day" and he replied with "good luck with that". What kind of business are you running? Seriously, avoid this place. Go to Ranch and Home which is less than a 5 minute drive away. I went there afterwards and found .22LR ammo and some of the best priced 9mm I have seen yet. The staff was extremely friendly and got out every Ruger 10/22 they had for me. Hole In the Wall had the Ruger 10/22 takedown model and were asking $369 for it, Ranch and Home had the exact same model for $320. Who do you think I ended up buying from? This place is a joke and I am surprised they are still in business. If only there was another indoor pistol range here in the Tri-Cities... If anyone is looking to start one you already have a potential customer because this place is terrible. read more
