Paintball fields are easy to find but there seems to be a lack of places willing to let kids and adults play with Airsoft guns. This place was fantastic. They have 5 fields of play plus a huge wooded landscape area if you want to play out in a natural environment. The kids I brought loved it. The regulars were eager to help get my group acquainted with the rules and gameplay. Everyone was more than friendly. The staff was just as accommodating. We needed some supplies (green gas for one) and one of the staff went back to the shop to get it for us. I was really impressed by everyone there. Customers and staff both. If your looking for a great place for either paintball or Airsoft this is the place!

A group of us went there as a birthday gift. After the first couple games it was clear the…read moreregulars/pro's/ref's friends were killing us badly every game. Our group all used the rental guns. The ref insisted it was because how much money the regulars spent on their barrels/guns/equipment but they were hitting us from far away and our rental guns would not even come close to reaching them. They swore everyone including the rental guns were all shooting at 250 to 285 fps. Turned out that was a lie, all of the rental guns in our birthday group could barely fire at 220 fps. I insisted they test a regulars gun and he was shooting 310 fps, since 285 fps was the speed limit for the field this was blatant cheating. The ref tried to cover it up with excuses but it was obvious they were just using us noobs as target practice for their own entertainment with no interest in making it fair for us.

I rented a gun, borrowed a mask and split a box of paint balls with a friend who is a regular. I started talking with Matt and asking him about his business, and how other business like his work. He shared easily, and explained that he has been doing this for 13 years! He used to get worried when people would start asking questions, but now knows that there is no need to worry about such things. He took care of explaining everything, and only had 3 simple rules. He builds his business on service, and did a fantastic job of making me feel special and valued. I WILL buy a paint ball gun from this business, and already totally trust his advice. We played on at least 5 different courses and we even got to play two games against the other (former army) group that was there. The castle was one of my favorite courses! This was also my first time paintballing so I don't have much to compare it to, but I thought it was amazing. The people working at Excalibur are nice, chill, and funny. They provide you with the gun, mask/goggles, and paintballs. You play within your group and can switch up the teams as you see fit. There's a referee for each game and they give you tips and encouragement. You mainly play death-match style, whichever team has the last man standing wins. Once you're shot (and the paint actually splatters and doesn't bounce off) you're out of the game and have to stand in the specified dead zone until it's over. After every 2-3 games you return to the basecamp to refill your gun with air/paintballs, get a drink of water, and catch your breath. Maybe they could add some FAQs on their website for suggestions on what to bring/wear. Make sure to bring gloves and wear lots of layers (long sleeve, short sleeve, sweatshirt), something with a hood or a bandana to cover your neck. You don't want any of your skin showing. Hiking boots or cleats work well. Camo/hunting apparel is a plus.

I was a little nervous going into this, considering everyone told me to layer my clothing because it would feel like getting shot at by a bb gun... but I wore loose jeans and a long sleeve tee, and I had awesome fun and I survived! I left only with 2 decent bruises, but was proud to show off my battle wounds:) I was with a group of 18 people and we played multiple rounds on two different courses. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the courses, rules, and equipment. My only complaints: we only used orange paint balls - I would have liked to leave with a bit more colors on me! And the staging area didn't have anywhere to sit when I wanted to rest up. Paintball is not something that I would do again right away, but would be happy to return in the spring to give it another shot.

I've seen plenty of birthday parties and bachelor parties come through an everyone is always having a great time. I celebrated my 12th birthday here many moons ago and I swear the memories last a lifetime. You don't have to be a pro to enjoy the sport or this incredible field. The field is always changing and adding on but always stays the same Robinhood, enchanted theme. The owners love what they do and they love to see others enjoying their creation.

They seemed to have very small fields, such that after you cross one obstacle you now have line if sight on their spawn. Their rate of play is positively geriatric, getting in one round per hour, with 20-30 minutes of "cool down" between rounds. At Legacy Adventure Park, you could get twice as many games in for the time spent. I'll happily pay a little more in admission if we get to play twice as many rounds. DO NOT BUY THEIR GRENADES. Most of them are duds that don't work, and you aren't allowed to use the smoke grenades indoors, so there is no point in buying them. Also, full auto is not allowed, which is fine, but anyone who walks in with an LMG gets to ignore that rule. It really frustrated the real my kids were on. Consistent rules would be nice. It was the least expensive place to go, but I still felt taken advantage of. They say that the events are different, where they'll get more games in and have more people, but I'm not excited to try that based on this experience.
