    Strawberry with sprinkles

Stopped at the truck driving past on 9W. These donuts were delicious! So many fun flavors to choose from but I stopped specifically to try the paczkis. Cream filled did not disappoint. So fluffy, so full of amazing cream and coated with sugar. Everything I dreamed it would be! My husband had the strawberry frosted which was also great, too many sprinkles for my taste but if you're a sprinkle fan then you'll be thrilled. Can't wait to try more!

    So many Fall flavors!

I LOVE Hole in the Wall donuts! As much as I loved The Anchor, I'm glad that they have gotten to expand their donut business. I've had the pleasure of meeting the owners, and they are very friendly and generous. The donuts are also soooo good! I HIGHLY recommend the Cajeta and S'mores.

I heard good things, so I figured I would try this place. Rude workers, over priced, and stale. Never again

We'd killed two birds with the same stone when hubs had to gas up the 10' U-Haul at Valero on Ulster Ave in Kingston before returning it when I noticed Taste Of M. The heat and humidity were both thick and getting only refreshments while hubs pumped was the right thing to do at that moment. They have mostly beef, chicken and pork dishes- but sometimes they may carry fish for their tacos- so call ahead if fish is your primary protein. If fish is not in that day, these ladies can turn any item on the menu and create a Vegetarian one for you. The Agua de Jamaica for hubs and my Horchata I ordered are huge at $5ea and did the trick nicely. Service is swift then you're good to go. While I didn't go for their eats, this truck might just hit the spot.

This meal of course was from the 2 beauty ladies at Taste of Mexico. Still Here thank God! Yup! Thank you! I am ashamed by the current actions & choices of behavior by my country. An apology will never suffice-be enough. But, I can begin here by saying honestly, I am so sorry! Thank you. Oh holy moly my eyes just started leaking oh a kleenix thanks dragon. So when I saw one opening in Kingston almost a decade ago I just shrugged and kept going. After learning Dianne Reeder's story you realize this isn't your ordinary candy store. Yes they have over 400 kinds of candy you can buy in bulk and the store has your typical kitschy trinkets but if you look deeper it's where you find Diane's passion and empathy for others. She just wants to make your day a little easier and for you to leave happier than you came. Certainly this isn't hard when you're scooping Janes Ice cream and serving vegan homemade soft serve using Fruition chocolate and coconut milk. Even this is fairly common place in a world over run by NYC transplants expecting everything to be homemade and gluten free. Where Dianne is different, is her commitment to community. In 2005, Diane was the winner of the Microsoft/Bill Gates Start Something Amazing Award (a program honoring the unique and inspiring ways that people use Microsoft related technology to pursue their everyday passions) for her work bringing attention to food insecurity. Her passion for cooking and her desire to help others led her to find a nonprofit organization called The Queens Galley in Kingston. The work she did with the Kingston Farmers Market was instrumental in getting them to accept food stamps. Diane's mission to have people come together and break bread in dignity has now spread across the country. Her commitment even landed her a diner at the Whitehouse with President Obama. To add to her resume she graduated the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park while raising 3 kids and running the candy bar. But let's get to the point. Diane is a pillar of the community where everybody knows her name. But what about the food? Just sitting outside snacking on my freshly roasted nuts (still warm) sipping on my 72hr steeped Lavazza cold brew I'd say simply perfect. Don't miss the carrot cake doughnut topped with maple walnuts and stuffed with macerated pineapple. The passion fruit and blackberry parfait or those rainbow cookie tricolor doughnuts. They have a sweet for everyone! Kingston Candy Bar might not be the hippest spot on the block but the love Diane puts into her work is palpable.
