I haven't been on real skates probably since I was about 10. I had such an amazing time and want to go back when it's less crowded. I happened to go when there was also a silent disco happening which made it even more amazing! Some people skated and did the disco, other chose to hang out and just do the disco. Whatever you preferred was fine. The disco had 3 stations to choose from and everyone was having a ball. Pricing was very reasonable. $6 adult admission, $4 skate rental and the silent disco headphones were $5. You only had to pay for what you needed. There were plenty of rentals available, Pro Tip- women's sizing ran really big. So if you need skates bring some higher socks to protect your ankles and head down for a great time. At different times the rink was a little crowded. Since most people aren't used to skating it could be a little tricky to get around. It definitely took me a few laps to get used to not being on stable ground. After about 30 minutes we were tired and were happy to leave the growing crowd. There were walker type devices to help you get your footing down if you needed some help. One of the more treacherous parts was skating on the sidewalk and into the rink. It might not be a bad idea to put on your skates near the entrance. You can also walk sideways up and down the ramp so you don't roll up and down. They are open most days until the end of October. It was also the start of the annual Borderline Jam which I was unfamiliar with since I'm just getting back into skating again but there were so many incredibly talented skaters it just blew me away! I am just an average rollerblader. I haven't hit a rink in a quarter century until this past week so I can't even remember how to skate backwards but I still go fast and just flying around the rink listening to music on a great sound system with fun lighting was enough to make me happy and get great exercise too! Admission is usually $10 (I had to pay $15 because of the special event). There are skates to rent but I know nothing more as I have my own. There are plenty of lockers and they are a quarter to lock each time (I was busy skating and never opened it again until I left). The key doesn't have a wrist band so make sure you have a pocket or a fanny pack or something to put it in. There is a snack bar with things like pizza, pizza logs, nachos, popcorn, etc. at a fair price. There are also some alcoholic beverages! There's also vending machines with plenty of snacks and drinks. There is an arcade too which I wanted to play but unfortunately almost every game was turned off and no one at the ticket counter - im not sure if it is like that every adult night or just due to the special event but I wanted to play some games! Staff was friendly but so were the people! Everyone that came up to me was just genuinely being nice and inclusive and not being a creep. That really made me feel happy and excited to come back. What I love the most was all shapes sizes ages colors genders styles and skill sets all harmonized as one. Everyone was really enjoying themselves, getting along nicely, if someone is coming around you fast they will make a noise so you know or they may gently touch you for a moment so you know they rounding you so no one falls. It was really a nice venue with wonderful people where you can feel safe and free from all of the silly arguments you see on social media, or rudeness you see out in the wild quite often. Whether your 80 years old and still able to fly around the rink, younger and full of dance moves on skates that make heads turn, average like me, or just starting out and need some help .. and people there will be happy to help you ... this is the place to be! Words can't express how much I love the ice at Buff State. This is one of those times where I…read morealmost hesitated to write the review because I didn't want to give away any secrets. Once again, the need to share the knowledge rises above and I will happily share how the rink at Buff State rises above the others. I'm a novice ice skater, so I prefer to have a rink with flexible hours, helpful staff, and no huge crowds. While this last one is not always easy to have, good crowd management is vital. The staff at Buff State, like at RIT to the east, is helpful and supportive. They will tell you if you're doing something unsafe and will guide you off the ice at the end of open skate. Also, they cut the music at the end, which is much less of a shock than slamming on the buzzer. I've said it before and I'll say it again: rinks should end open skate by cutting the music, not slamming on the excruciatingly loud buzzer. It's just easier and safer this way. Buff State is concerned about patron safety and it shows. Admission is $3, free with a Buff State ID, and skate rental is $2. Seriously, it's a steal. Now that I have my own skates, $3 admission is completely worth it to me. Open skate time is typically around two hours, plenty of time to get your money's worth. If you feel so compelled, you can rent the ice by the hour. Last time I was there, they were setting up for a birthday party to take place after open skate ended. The rink itself is rather large, being a college hockey facility, so there's lots of room to skate around. I'm usually on the perimeter, going forward as I learn, but there are plenty of people in the center trying jumps and spins. The ice is good quality and I never feel as though the kids there are trying to create ruts in the ice, where I will inevitably get stuck. I guess I just have to keep practicing, right? If you're new to skating, the ice at Buff State is perfect to practice on. Yes, the schedule is not always the most open due to the hockey teams, but when it's available, it's my first choice for open skating. See you on the ice!

If it's been a while (like probably never) then you should head out to Zone One. This isn't just an ordinary skating rink. It has the biggest rink I've ever seen. You can enjoy gliding on this beautiful surface. Zone One is appropriate for large corporate social events as well as group events and just general having a night out. As the name implies, even though it is primarily for adults at night, there is plenty for kids to do. It strikes me as the kind of place you would rent out for a large event yet you won't break the bank. I had a great time, and plan to return soon. On Amherst Street, just east of Main Street, Zone One is a short walk from the Amherst Metro Rail station and is on bus route 32. I saw no impediments for wheel chair access except the doors are manual. There is a rather high curb by the street so be careful. The staff wore masks, as did customers, but the rules are changing. The ventilation is excellent. The place has plenty of room so keeping a safe distance is easy. Because the venue is new, hours may be flexible. Currently closed Mondays and Tuesday, but this could change.

The course itself isn't too difficult, it's mainly just using angles since there isn't a lot of elevation changes. However, the starting point on a lot of the holes where you place the ball, the rug is a bit bunched up so you have to move your ball or else you just hit the bunch. I've gone twice, once on a Friday night which was packed and on Halloween which was abandoned and when I took the pictures. I would recommend this place if you like mini golf, though try not to go at a busy time.

The Bisons Event team absolutely nailed it. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the venue space itself was perfect. From a planning perspective, the entire day was completely seamless. We didn't have to worry about a single detail, which allowed us to be fully present and cherish every moment with our guests. John was attentive, accommodating and so friendly. Jarrett took the time to come down and meet us and check in on how things were going. We cannot recommend hosting an event and working with you and your team at Sahlen's Field highly enough.

They have 4 floors with a wide variety of stations and things to do for the kids. If we didn't have to worry about nap time, we could probably spend the whole day there. If you have a Bank of America card, this museum is part of their Museum on us program- IYKYK. I also like the cafeteria where you can purchase snacks or meals for the kids. I appreciate that they don't police you, if you just use the space to eat your own packed snacks, just clean up after yourself is all they request. There's just so much to do. I would say the only issue we ran into was finding parking, but that's to expected at that side of town. Overall, a must for kids.

This place is AWESOME for our little guy. He loved this entire place and had so much fun. The building is 4 floors but Explore & More really starts on the 2nd floor. The first floor has a lobby and a cafe though which is nice too. The main floor of Explore & More is great. There is a Delta Sonic kid car wash, and so many cool historical Buffalo things like the Erie Canal and interactive boat for them to try out. The next floor has so many interactive things for kids to try and run around on. Everything has great theming for Buffalo and really shows off the hometown pride for the adults who are there with their kids. I'd recommend this place to anyone with kids because they have so much fun. There is something to do for all ages here. Definitely felt like a Buffalo gem.

Throughout the years, all four of my children have been enrolled in various programs/classes. My three boys all started with the Hockey Skills offering in the Learn to Skate Program. Afterwards they went on and continued with the Learn to Skate program which is geared towards figure skating. This gave them a great base for playing travel and high school hockey. My daughter started in Learn to Skate and went on to private instruction and to eventually teach in the Learn to Skate program. She participated in many competitions and this gave her good experience with handling pressure, gaining confidence, and staying fit. Initially, we had no idea the impact that the Amherst Skating Club would have on our family. Enrolling our kids in Learn to Skate was a great move and helped all my kids stay in shape and become very good skaters. My daughter went on for years and was very active with the club. It was a great experience and feel fortunate to have been enrolled in many of their program offerings.
