My whole party and I had season passes so this was free for us. It was a nice little festive event - and honestly I wasn't expecting ANYTHING to happen at Six Flags during COVID. Six Flags did the best they could given the situation and it was pretty cool to be able to drive around the whole park. Not every foot of the drive was a lights extravaganza , but it was still lovely and festive. At the end there's a snow machine and Bugs Bunny waving at everyone. I think the price is steep if you have to actually pay (on New Years Day it was $30 pp). I do think it should be per car instead of per person, but like all theme parks , they are hurting during this pandemic, so I guess think of it like a donation to support the park. The event runs well into January so we figure we will do this once more before it ends.

We were SO LUCKY to see the last day of Holiday in the Park. First time for me to see Magic Mountain all dolled up for the holidays and it was pretty good! Since the park is fairly large, you have to do quite a bit of walking in order to see all of the decorations, but it was worth the time and effort. Supposedly there were 1.5 million lights. Since it was the last day, there wasn't much holiday entertainment. We missed the falling snow and didn't see any seasonal treats, but the lights was good enough for me.

Holiday In The Park has come a long way since it's first season at Magic Mountain in 2014 over the past few years it's grown into quite an awesome event that totally transforms this awesome and unique park into a super pretty display of lights music and holiday vibes! This year they have put a huge effort into the design decorations and all around theme of the park in general by adding everything from holiday shows to making snow fall to adding an awesome new VR experience to Revolution where you join Santa on a magical journey in his sleigh! The park is also offering a few different holiday food items at some of their various eating establishments which is totally cool as some of them sound quite yummy and fit the holiday vibes especially the s'mores where you can roast them over an open fire pit before you hit your next coaster! Holiday In The Park runs until the end of the holiday season so make sure you get to plan a visit because it's definitely worth it to see all the awesome lights and holiday vibes spread across this amazing park known as Six Flags Magic Mountain!

This review is for the "Holiday in the Park" drive thru experience at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I originally thought that the price was per car so for $35 I loaded the family of 5 into the SUV and headed up to Valencia. At the gate, turns out that the price is PER PERSON. With little choice, I caved and paid the $175. Maybe this is going to be an incredible experience, I thought. It was a bit surreal to be driving around Magic Mountain but the lights were underwhelming to say the least. And for $175? The 20-30 minute drive thru the park wasn't worth it. If you are thinking about doing this, save money and drive over to Candy Cane Lane. More lights, more charm, and free.

Not a bad night out. They have bathrooms (port-a-potties) before you enter and after you exit. Our tickets were for 8:30 pm and we live 2 exits away, and we left at 7:40. We got there at 7:46. Waited in a long line of cars to enter until 8:56 pm. Pulled out to go home at 9:23 pm. We also ordered 2 funnel cakes which they don't give you until you leave. We thought they'd give it up front so we could eat it while driving. I think the extremely long wait kinda killed our enthusiasm, but ultimately a fun night out with the kids and we're very happy the park found a way to make some income during these hard times.

This year's Holiday In The Park is still a lot of fun even with it just being a drive through event. The park is decorated beautifully. There is even an area with falling snow. It is an unique experience to drive through the park and one we will probably not have again. I loved the the music, all of the costumed actors, Santa and his reindeer, and the toy soldiers on stilts. Don't forget to purchase the box of fudge online before you get to the park :) They will put a little tag on your windshield when you enter the park so they know to give you the fudge, it was delicious and definitely worth the money.

Can you tell we MISS the game!

We had a blast... All the lights, The walk in our favorite place on the field ;) just to get out the house for an evening was what we Needed!

It was pretty cool. What is nice about all these night time shows, the park is empty up till around 3pm. If you want to ride the rides all day without long wait time and leave the nights for walkingxaround it works out great. The lights are all done beautifully.

Here's a pic of all the cars waiting. Goes all the way to the front where those distant cars are. Ridiculous!

This was terrible. Definitely not worth 35$ per person. There was a huge line of cars to get inside the festival even past the main entrance where we scanned our tickets. It took us 45 min to even get into the festival! What a waste of time. The festival was nothing special. Such a ridiculous waste of money and a night. Go to any other holiday drive through but this one. Really regret coming here.

Ask the Community - Holiday In The Park

Can I come earlier than my time slot? I purchased too late for my kids?

Yes if within maybe 15 minutes.

Has anyone gone on a weeknight, like a Monday? How's the traffic then?

We went on a Thursday night and I couldn't imagine it being any more crowded on the weekend. It will be bumper to bumper whenever you go.

We tried to get our money back at the site but Alice, the only person who wasn't a volunteer didn't have cash for refunds. As we were leaving 1 hour after it started among many other really upset people, we heard one of the three beer vendors ran out of beer. So one food vendor, three beer vendors, almost no seats or tables, a bad band and a guy in a chicken costume......yikes!!! If they put this on again don't go.

We were shocked to see only one food vendor for Brats and Sausage and one for strudel, and only 2 booths for beer (we did not see a third). After waiting in a very disorganized line to pay $15 to get in, you then have to wait in line to get drink tickets then another line to get beer, not to mention the huge line to get food. After just 45 minutes to an hour, one of the beer booths ran out of one of they beers that were supposed to be part of our "beer flight" and I heard that towards the end of the event the booths ran out of beer entirely. We ended up leaving early and giving our left over drink tickets away and going to a Mexican restaurant down the street to eat. Whoever organized this clearly has no idea what they are doing and I feel that my husband and I are owed the $50 ($15 to get in and $20 for drink tickets) that we wasted on this lousy event. We will most assuredly will not be going to this if they have one next year.

Wonderful Community Farmers Market with Fresh, Local Quality…read moreThe Old Town Newhall Farmers Market is a fantastic weekly destination for fresh, locally sourced products and a welcoming community atmosphere. This certified farmers market brings together local farms and food artisans, offering seasonal fruits and vegetables, artisan breads, dairy products, honey, meats, seafood, and a variety of ready-to-eat foods. Held year-round on Saturday mornings at the Old Town Newhall Library, the market provides access to produce that is often harvested just 12-48 hours before being sold, which truly shows in the quality and freshness. Visitors consistently praise the friendly vendors, fresh food options, and variety of small businesses to support. Many reviews highlight the excellent breakfast and prepared food options -- from pastries and tacos to fresh juices -- along with quality produce and specialty items. While it's a smaller market compared to some larger regional markets, that actually adds to its charm. It's easy to explore, offers thoughtfully curated vendors, and creates a relaxed, community-focused shopping experience that keeps people coming back week after week. If you're looking for a friendly local market with high-quality products, great food, and a strong sense of community, the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market is absolutely worth visiting. The level of service provided by each farmer and vendor is exceptional and consistently professional.

Being new to the area, I've been visiting different farmers markets around Santa Clarita, and I was…read morereally excited when I found the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market. Out of the ones I've tried so far, this one had more of the variety I was personally looking for, and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere the first few times I went. But the main reason I initially felt comfortable there was because during my first visit, I came with my service dog and the employee at the entrance properly asked the ADA-approved questions. She asked if my dog was a service dog and then asked what task she performs. I genuinely appreciated that so much, because most of the time people immediately say "we don't allow dogs" without asking, which can feel dismissive when you rely on a service animal. That first experience made me feel safe and respected, and it made me want to keep coming back. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very different. When I arrived, an employee immediately told me that dogs were not allowed, without first asking if my dog was a service animal. I politely asked if she could ask the two ADA questions, and the interaction became uncomfortable. She responded, "I did, I asked you what the task for your service dog was." I told her, "You didn't ask me if she was a service dog, you just told me dogs aren't allowed." I then explained my dog's task and said, "If you don't mind, please review the ADA procedure for the two questions." She replied, "Oh my friend, we do follow ADA regulations." I told her, "No, you didn't. You assumed my dog was a pet and didn't ask if she was a service dog first." She said, "Most people are happy when we ask those questions," and I responded, "Yes, we are happy when you actually ask them." I do believe she thought she had asked correctly, but she didn't, and the conversation kept going back and forth in front of other people, including a vendor nearby who was giving samples. I ended up getting emotional and crying, which was embarrassing, and I felt bad that the vendor had to witness the situation because he was just standing there doing his job. I can see how this may seem like a small thing to some people, but for those of us who rely on real service dogs, these interactions matter a lot. We constantly feel like we have to justify our legitimacy, and it gets exhausting. I understand that staff have to deal with people bringing pets that are not service animals, and I respect that, but that's exactly why the correct ADA questions should always be asked before making assumptions. And there are ways that you can tell when a service dog is not a real service dog, which is information I would gladly give as I used to help train service animals. Because of that experience, I left feeling really disappointed. It's unfortunate, because I truly liked this farmers market and the variety it offers, but after that interaction I don't feel comfortable going back. I do hope staff continue to review ADA guidelines so situations like this can be handled more professionally in the future.

I've been attending this fair off and on since it was originally called "The San Fernando Valley…read moreFair". It used to be held at Devonshire Downs in Northridge, CA, (next to CSUN), back in the late 80's. Anyone remember? I even had a photography vendor's booth there one year. For several years, at the various fair locations, I entered photographs as a professional exhibitor, and did quite well winning ribbons for my work. It was a lot of fun! When it was held at Devonshire Downs, it was a really cool fair with great music, food, art and crafts, and a wide array of interesting vendors. Then, suddenly CSUN needed the property to build on, and the fair lost it's somewhat "permanent home". It has struggled since then to find a place to "set up camp" yearly with a warm welcome extended. The promoters of the fair tried for several years to have it take place at Pierce College in Woodland Hills. That would have been an awesome location for the valley. But as I understood it, the neighboring community apparently fought against it thinking due to the alcohol being served and large crowds, it would become a nuisance to their neighborhood. Hey people- it's a 4-day once a year event! Get over it! The 1-night loud parties on your block are probably more annoying! They've held the fair over the years at the Burbank Equestrian Center, Hansen Dam in Lakeview Terrace, and the last event was held at the Saugus Speedway in 2008. I attended all of the past fairs at the various locations, but it just was never the same. I attended the 2008 Valley Fair in Saugus. It was quite disappointing. It lent itself to a low turnout and was small and very commercial. I felt the promoters could have done a better job with the sound stage area for the bands to perform, the overall ambiance, and for promoting the event in general. I went to the 2008 event in Saugus strictly for the music venue and to hopefully dance. There was no room to dance, unless you wanted to compete with the uncovered electrical cords all over the place, and the funny looks you got from the conservative folks that attended. How could you not want to dance to the "Bella Donna" band as the lead singer sang a beautiful tribute to Fleetwood Mac!!! And to the well known "Which One's Pink" (Pink Floyd tribute band) !!! Wake up people! I left very disappointed. Well...it's 2010...and "The Valley Fair "is returning to the San Fernando Valley June 17th thru June 20th at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, with a decent line up for music. They have scheduled a Beatles tribute band to play on Thursday night and a Journey tribute on Friday night, as well as other bands and performers on Saturday and Sunday. I'm planning on attending. I hope they have the dance area ready for me! I hope this fair brings back the fond memories I have of the 80's at Devonshire Downs . And I hope the surrounding neighbors and valley community support the fair, by attending and giving it a chance. Oh, and I'm sure some of the Woodland Hills resident snobs will drive their Mercedes to check it out, when they could have just saved gas, gone green, walked around the block to attend, drank a few cold beers and stumbled home!
