Place was fine for a one night stay. The bed was comfy and the Wifi worked just fine. Parking was free, so that's always a plus! For breakfast you get a coupon to go to the restaurant and order off the menu for anything $11.99 and under. I did the build your own breakfast and got eggs, fruit, and hash. A decent hotel in the heart of downtown Concord. The service and staff are impeccable. The lack of included breakfast, while sad, is offset somewhat by the fruit dish at the front desk which is always stocked with fresh fruit. My main gripe would be that the prices are a bit high for the product, and the fitness center is incredibly outdated. While I do appreciate a indoor bottom level pool for the colder months, the pool room is incredibly humid and hot. That may, however, be a boon for those looking to relax in the hot tub. Very convenient for going to downtown Concord but little else. All in all, if you were to stay in Concord, this is a very good to superior option. read more

I took a bus from Boston to Concord, and this hotel is closest to the bus station, right in downtown Concord. My room was nice, but when I took my shower I noticed the inside of my shower curtain was dirty. Staff was apologetic, and my shower curtain was replaced. There is no free breakfast, and I didn't even notice there was a restaurant on premises, as I have read in other reviews. My stay was fine, but not up to par with staying at a Hyatt, which is my go-to hotel brand. read more

I felt like the hotel restaurant didn't have nearly enough staff to handle the crowds that particular weekend, which was absolutely due to poor planning by the management. They were well aware of the fact that the hotel was booked solid that entire weekend. There was an annual motorcycle convention which they already knew would mean a lot more guests in Concord than most other weekends, but they didn't appear to have nearly enough staff to handle the larger crowd. We were attending our son's wedding that same weekend and wanted to grab a quick breakfast before the chaos of getting ready, etc. started, yet, when we sat down with the others in the wedding party, there was only ONE waitress on Sunday morning and she was definitely overwhelmed. For example, it took her 30 minutes or more just to give us a menu and pour some coffee. We knew that it wasn't her fault, she just didn't have any help at all and the restaurant was packed. In my opinion, the managers in charge of scheduling staff to cover the restaurant should have been practicing the "5 P's," Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. There wasn't any excuse for the lack of staffing during the weekend. read more

Our team was in town for a basketball tourney. We were all placed on the same floor, which is nice when traveling as a group. With our block cost, the general manager was nice enough to throw in 4 breakfasts per day instead of the two that would normally be included in our rate, in order to accommodate our traveling families. The coupons said we could select 1 out of 3 breakfast choices from the restaurant located downstairs but the staff were super flexible and allowed us to eat off the Saturday buffet and on Sunday, whatever we wanted from the menu. Due to a Nor'easter, our basketball games were cancelled on Saturday and we spent more time at the hotel than we originally planned. The pool and hot tub area was plenty big to entertain the guests. The lobby sold cards which helped make gaming an option. The restaurant downstairs, Ej's, made it convenient to get a nice hot meal (kids eat free with the order of an entree!) without having to drive and there was a full bar for the adults to enjoy. We slept well in the beds which we all agreed were super comfy. The rooms included mini fridges and microwaves. I didn't hear any complaints about cleanliness or service. Room was older and not truly clean...surface clean. Bathroom toilet paper was stained from being wet from something. Both share and one on roller. Carpet looks dirty and very worn. What a Great experience we had this week at the Holiday Inn Downtown Concord, New Hampshire. We booked over 30 rooms, as well as the restaurant for the post wedding party, and the Webster Room for breakfast the next morning. We were greeted warmly as we registered, as well as when we left. We had everything we needed and the accommodations, as well as the food, was outstanding! Kristin Molina, our contact person in sales, was professional and very kind. Covid precautions were not being followed by hotel guests in the lobby, elevators. Guests were not wearing masks. When I asked the front desk about it, they said they were not staffed to assure the guests wear masks. I called customer service and got a very kind person in the Philippines who was not versed in US Covid protections. So then I called the police. Repeat, the employees at this hotel say they are not staffed to assure that guests (walking in the lobby, at the front desk) comply to Covid rules in the common spaces. There is a sign on the front door of the hotel saying masks are required. This hotel is not practicing safety for Covid, rules that this hotel themselves set up. Friends organized a school reunion here with a special rate. Within an hour of announcing the reunion, our special rate block was already full and closed. Now we only stayed for one night, but the young lady who checked us into the hotel was great and our room was huge, clean and remodeled! Now I don't live in NH, but compared to other cities that don't have parking, that's not the case here. Our stay was pleasant and the room was great. I'd stay again. There was construction somewhere apparently, but we didn't hear it between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. We didn't see the restaurant or pool so I can't speak to those, but it was a good night here. We kept the AC on auto all night and I love when that means a constant fan going all night in between the bursts of cold air. I hate it when they kick all the way off then back on while on auto, but this was helpful as background noise so that I could sleep. We did have to put a towel down to block the light from coming in under the door drop the hallway, but that was an easy fix for this delicate sleeper that needs darkness and white noise. read more

I did not have high expectations the first time I booked my room here, but was left very impressed! the front desk was always very helpful, and we had no problem checking in early. When we checked in, we were immediately given coupons for 2 free food or beverage items from the gift shop (which is great, because we always end up hungry after hours) The room was surprisingly spacious, the beds very comfortable (8 hours sleep uninterrupted! That's a rarity especially in a hotel), an the hotel is in walking distance to many great shops and restaurants (Go to Hermano's for dinner!)! the room service breakfast left a little to be desired, as the bread was barely toasted, but it was still nice to have it as an option and not as overpriced as I have seen elsewhere. Do not waste your time staying in this hotel. I was locked in the stairwell had to go through a fire exit door and was not even given an apology by the front desk staff. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They were warm, friendly and inviting. The location is great. Very close to nearby restaurants, bars and and things to see/do. This hotel is clearly being renovated and it would've been nice when booking they disclosed that. Part of the reason that I dig hotels is that there is an included fitness room so I don't fall out of habit. This one was temporarily in another hotel room and it was clear there was more equipment available but they didn't move it. There was two 25 pound dumbbells, two 15 pound dumbbells, a bike from yesteryear and a treadmill. That was a disappointment. Overall, I don't understand how or why a Holiday Day Inn is worse than a Holiday Inn Express. Is Express a different company using the name for legitimacy? Because they don't need it. We had an awful experience at a hotel in Tilton. Literally checked in and immediately checked out. (Only got half our money back) The Holiday Inn was like an Oasis! The staff was super nice. I haven't traveled for work for that long but I've learned that a good policy is to always ask upon arrival if the card (my card) will be used just for incidentals. There was a distinctly sharp no from Melissa at the front desk, followed quickly with a sneering look as if to say 'duh, don't you know that?' In fact I don't know that, because this is the first holiday inn Ive stayed at where the answer was as above. And I mean it when I say sneer, there was no friendliness and no welcome at all. Kristin looked friendlier maybe she will help. I explain to Kristin that this may be a mistake, because it was not me who made the reservation since its for work. She didn't care. "Well we don't have any authorization so we have to use this card." Again, this is said like 'no duh, idiot. Don't you know the rules?' Well In fact I do know a rule when it comes to customer service at a hotel, I just left the hotel industry not that long ago, and I did a good number of years at the front desk. Treat someone like you'd want to be treated, for future reference. You never know if they'll write a review of you angrily and with clarity immediately after suffering through your muted condescension and lack of personality. Kristin must be friendlier, I thought. She was just polite to the guy who asked a question before me. Nope. Kristin turned it up a notch with the eye brow raises and the equally condescending attitude. Again she repeated that they have to charge me. Bear in mind I'm well aware that the room isn't free (though it should be at this point as I sit here writing this). They both offer me no alternatives, no possible solutions except when I say "I'll try calling the office to see if they can help, I can't put this on my card because my account will go negative." Kristin answers "well I'm sure the office is closed so what we can do is charge your card now and change it over in the morning." Not bad Kristin, but I just told you that I wasn't the one who reserved the room, and that I couldn't afford it on my card. Holiday inn should have a record that I've stayed at their hotels MANY times the last 4 months, in fact I was in the Cambridge Holiday inn just last night. Also, how are you sure that my office is closed? Do you know something I don't? What happened to professional courtesy? Why do I have to feel like I'm really putting you out by politely trying to figure out what the problem is. This is decisively and definitively NOT good customer service. At the very least, try to be a decent and empathetic human being. See my license you just asked for? I'm not from this state, I'm traveling for work, not pleasure, it's lonely enough as it is, you should make someone feel welcome, period. Suck it up that it annoys you that I can't afford the room on my card, suck it up that my job made a slight error sending the confirmation over. Is this how you are trained to deal with a small problem? How is it possible that I, the person potentially sleeping in their car tonight, am calmer and nicer than you, the two people who are supposed to make someone feel like a guest? I call my job, they answer. They ask to speak with one of the front desk employees, they are both annoyed and don't want to get on the phone. Kristin grabs the phone unhappily and it turns out we did send a confirmation to you guys via email, you just weren't paying attention. No apology, no kindness. Went down with a 90 year old father to stay the night. The next day he had surgery on his eye. While I found the staff friendly and accommodating there are a few things that need improving. My Dad has balance issues. He is now at the stage in his life where he needs to be wheeled in a wheel chair. What I discovered was the Holiday Inn was not very accommodating to disabled people. First of all we had a room on the fourth floor, which meant we had to take the elevator. There was literally not enough room to fit my Dad into the elevator. I had to fit him in at an angle just so I could get him in and out. Elevators need to be larger to accommodate someone who is disabled. Secondly, the toilets in the rooms and in the lobby were too low to the ground. As I said my Dad as Balance issues and when the toilet is practically sitting on the floor he can't get up. There were no bars for him to use to get up. His bed was too high for him to get into and when he sat on the end of it he worried he was going to take a fall trying to grab his walker that I brought in. We ended up having an emergency when he took a fall trying to turn in his room. This happened after the surgery. I found the reception person was quick to see the situation and call 911. He is also 6 foot 2 and weighs over 200 pounds, so it is difficult for me to get him up off the ground without some sort of help. As I said the staff was great, but there were other things that did not seem to work. One of the things I found, was the pillows were far too soft. I have a had time with pillows that are too soft. They don't have to be rigid or anything, but I find I can't get comfortable with pillows that are too soft. The easy remedy for me in the future is to bring my own pillows. I also thought they gave us far too many pillows. I only need two not four or five. I felt overwhelmed with pillows. One last item I was not happy with. In that emergency that occurred, when my Dad took a fall. I could not log onto my computer to their WIFI or my phone. I needed to call my sister to let her know what happened. I never got a hold of her because I could not make the call and there was not another WIFI available for me to use. I'd give these guys a two for good customer service. It would be higher if this hotel were more handicap friendly. We drove 2 hours to spend two nights and the fact my Dad has a lot of issues and the hotel was not friendly was disturbing. Next time we will book the Marriott as they have rooms on the first floor, the elevators are large enough for more than 4 to 5 people and the bathrooms have bars at the toilets and the toilets are not so high. The only reason we booked the Holiday Inn at Concord was because it was close to Concord Hospital where his surgery was. read more

Attention to detail was awful, my bill was messed up at least 2 times and I owed money at checkout as they "forgot" to charge me for my last nights stay. What?! Then the woman had the audacity to say she didn't understand why I was less than pleased. There was certainly no apology because "it wasn't [her] fault". She looked at me like I was crazy and she hoped I'd leave soon. This was coming from a MANAGER mind you. I will never go back to this location, nor to any other holiday inn either out of principle. Great Hotel and Front Desk Staff. Terrible Sales and Marketing If I was strictly staying at the hotel as a guest I would give it a very high 4+ rating. The reason it is a 2 is because of the poor communication and responses from the their events.sales and marketing team. We had two events planned at the hotel after our sons wedding. An after party in one of the rooms where we had about 60 people and a brunch of about 90 to 100 people. I rated food and beverage as well as Staff and service and Able to relax very low due to the office personnel (not the front desk or support staff) and the position they put us in the day of our event. The brunch went off well and the staff was excellent in working with us and accommodating the larger than anticipated surge at the start. They hustled and were phenomenal. The food was hot and good. The after party was once again well served by the staff on hand but I was forced the day of the event to buy my food from the hotel when using their facility room. I already had $300 in food and beverage that I just wheeled in and was told I could not use it. We arrived at this impasse when we had worked with one marketing coordinator and then she was no longer there. My wife explained, and we had our notes and emails, that this was all planned and arranged and that the person we had talked to was" accommodating and helpful". The Director of Marketing then said in the lobby in front of us and the front desk crew they would not honor it and further went on to say " and that is why the other person was not working at that hotel any longer" It was very upsetting that she was assign blame to an ex employee. In addition, I agree to order there food and try communicating with the Kitchen and the office about the situation. I am told they can not take the order until 4:00. I explain that is during by sons wedding reception so I emailed the office staff several times for them to get my order in while I was at the wedding reception. Yes they accommodated and yes we got the food but this was done within 1/2 an hour of us leaving for the venue for the wedding. Beyond this and the $350 additional I had to spend the rest of the hotel and its staff were wonderful, worked hard and accomodating. The room cleanliness was immaculate, shout out to the housekeeping team! The highlight of our experience however was the agent who checked us in. I stayed here for a couple nights prior to my wedding. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The first night, I was supposed to be staying in the room adjacent to my parents. The front desk told my parents this when they checked in. But I was actually a few doors down on the other side of the hall. Could have been worse, it's not like I was on another floor or anything. The next day, I guess there was a water leak in the room above my parents' room. So, the gave my parents a suite, and the two surrounding rooms. Quite the upgrade, if you ask me. As for the quality of the rooms, I was very impressed by how big they are. Also, in my experiences, I thought it was uncommon for a hotel room to have a small refrigerator. Every room had a larger mini-fridge, and a microwave, which is pretty awesome. However, I did notice that some features were kind of tarnished. For example, the curtains were a tiny bit discolored and had a couple holes in them. Stuff like that. So, if you're the kind of person who cares about every little thing being spotless and perfect, you might be bothered by that. I, however, am not that type of person. The bed and linens were clean, the staff was nice and friendly, there was ample parking, they had a pool and a hot tub. 5 stars from me. read more

We stayed at the Concord, NH downtown Holiday Inn for two nights. Expecting a standard good quality experience, we were not dissapointed. The staff at the front desk were very prompt, courteous and accomodating to our normal needs as we checked in. While we asked for a room away from stairs, elevators and vending machines, we were given a room right next to a stair case. However, they were quick to move us without delay. We ate at the hotel's restaurant (EJ's on Main) and were very delighted with our waiter, David. He was polite and prompt. Very experienced, David delivered the little things (desert utensils, more hot water for tea, etc.) right on time. Often these little things make a dining experience just that little bit more enjoyable, and he delivered on this front. The only negative issues we had with the hotel were the loose stability bar and loose, floppy drain stopper in the bathtub. When in Concord again we will certainly stay here. read more

I checked in to the Holiday Inn in Concord, NH. Upon entering my room, I took a brief business call and undressed to shower. Suddenly the door to my room opened and a strange man entered (not a staff member). I screamed as he stared at my naked body. After a few moments he apologized and I was just screaming "Go! Get out!" while running around to cover my fully exposed, now visually sexually violated body. I quickly dressed and managed to get to the front desk while experiencing a full blown panic attack at this violation of me. The girl at the desk acted as though it was nothing, didn't apologize as I stood sobbing in the lobby, and just handed me a key card to a new room. My best friend had arrived by that point and noted how horrible the girl treated me. My friend and I went to this new room and I scanned the card at the room door, and inside was a man standing close to the door. I could barely breathe at this point and my friend rushed me back down to the lobby to inform them that they gave me ANOTHER room/room card that was occupied by someone else. Gross negligence of room cards and security TWICE within about 10 or 15 minutes by the same person! I ran outside and sat on the bench next to the entrance, sobbing hysterically at the violation of my body and complete fear and horror I had just experienced. My panic was uncontrollable and customers entering the hotel were staring and wondering what happened. After about 10 minutes, the girl from earlier came out to basically try and shut me up because a hysterical young woman at the hotel entrance is not good for business. She never apologized but finally when seeing I couldn't calm down after being so violated, told me that if I stayed at the hotel every one of my meals and beverages would be brought to my (now THIRD room) by room service so I wouldn't have to leave the room during the stay, and would all be of no charge to me . She said all could be comped if I stayed and went up to the new room. She also told me on the way up to the room (as I was clearly still hysterical) that the hotel would like to also offer me another stay for 2 nights at my choosing and again, all room service would be comped by the hotel again. The manager Tim FINALLY spoke with me, as I was still feeling so violated and scared and assured me that my current stay would also be fully comped by the hotel because of what happened. I felt like they were really going out of their way to try and right a horrible, sexually violating situation that happened due to their negligence, so I accepted these generous offers. A few days after my second, promised to be comped in all ways stay there, I checked my credit card and saw they had charged me well over $1200.00. I was furious and called the manager Tim, leaving a message on his voicemail. He did not return my call, so I called the corporate office. They assured me it would all be corrected in 24-48 hours. 4 days went by and still no credit for the over $1200.00 charge. I called corporate again and they said Tim told them my voicemail doesn't work, so that was that basically. I SPECIFICALLY told corporate the first time that I refused to speak to Tim, this manager who blatantly LIED TO MY FACE and then charged all of that money to my card. I informed them that Tim HAD left a voicemail for me, but I did not call him back because I already firmly told corporate I would not speak with such a person. They then told me they had to send the issue to their "executive level." I told them I had a witness to the entire horrible staff and management treatment of me and also she was there for all the comp promises made to me. I offered to give her phone number but they brushed me off. So STILL I am waiting for that $1200.00 + charge to be credited to my card and the violation of my body, something that I have to live with for the rest of my life!!!, to be taken care of by Holiday Inn, as was promised very clearly to me. I still have trouble sleeping. I close my eyes and see that man leering at my nude body. Nothing will make that go away, but it is so truly horrific that I was blatantly LIED to and charged over $1200.00 and multiple calls to corporate have resulted in absolutely nothing but being given the run-around. I cannot believe a company would do this to a customer. I am horrified and forever scarred because of this. It's been over 3 months and neither Holiday Inn or IHG has done ANYTHING to right this truly horrific wrong. read more

We were staying here for a wedding taking place in the Hotel. They have just finished renovating. The room was not too bad, great bed, new carpet, TV & furniture. The bathroom had only a minor face lift. The fitness room was very small and not updated. The entire facility was extremely clean which is impotent too me for hotel stays. The majority of the staff were great. The person checking us in (Chrissy I think) was super. Very professional, friendly and accommodating. Avoid rooms 232, 230 & 228. These rooms are on the back side of the hotel and over the Pub/Restaurant where a very large, loud and out of balance kitchen exhaust fan is on the exterior wall below these 3 rooms. When we got to the room we could hear and feel the exhaust fan as it was vibrating the room. However we figured we would be retuning to the room late enough that the fan would be off. We went to the Pub after the wedding and stayed till closing. Upon getting back to the room to our dismay the exhaust fan was still knocking way. We waited a bit assuming the Pub staff would shut it down as part of their closing duties. 30 minutes the exhaust fan still on I called the front desk and it went v-mail. When the front desk called back I explained the situation informing them of the cause of the noise. They stated they would look into it and call back. Approximately 10 minutes later the desk called back and stated there really was nothing they could do and thought maybe it was an ice machine. Not being very happy with how I had been "handled" I got up, got dressed and went to the Pub in the hope of finding a staff member still there. luckily I did, I asked if there was a Manager on duty, I was told at this time of the night the Front Desk staff is the Manager and upon further discussion was told the front desk had never called the Pub regarding turning off the exhaust fan. Once I explained the situation the employee shut off exhaust fan, first informing me of the fact the fan stays on 24 hours a day. All the Pub staff were great and they have GREAT PIZZA! read more

Had to stay here during an extended power outage. I was grateful to find a room since other places were sold out. They were renovating the lobby area so it was closed. That was a little off putting but renovations are necessary and I really just wanted heat and hot water anyway. The condition of the carpets was downright nasty. When looking around, everything was dirty. They had set up a make-shift registration desk right by the elevators. The lady that checked us in was very nice and apologized for the look with the remodel. My room was on the 3rd floor so I waited for the elevator. The doors to the elevator were scratched and heavily damaged looking. The inside was no better. Absolutely filthy. I knew at that moment that if the room looked anything like the rest of the place, I was going back to the desk. The carpet condition on the 3rd floor was much better but again, nothing looked clean. When I went into my room I was pleasantly surprised. It looked like it had been updated not long ago and looked clean and comfortable. I checked the bed and bathroom and both were clean as well. I stayed and I'm grateful for a good nights sleep after 3 days of no power at home. Honestly, I'd steer people away unless their remodel extends to the rest of the building. As an African American visiting a predominantly white city I've never felt so in the 60's as I did when I stayed at this Holiday Inn in Concord. The front desk was very friendly. I believe her name was Mrs. Kim. She was very nice upon checking in. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the rest of the staff and even some of the guest. Upon entering the elevator with one of the room cleaning staff, I smiled and asked how she was doing. After looking me up and down, she gave me a look of disgust that I would never forget and ignored me. Upon leaving the elevator I wished her a blessing for a better day. Again she ignored me. I thought it may have just been the one person until I went to the hotel restaurant and received very similar treatment from the bar tender. Upon entering the bar area I was given a similar look from the bar tender as I did the employee on the elevator. After sitting down she never looked my way. I would have understood if the bar was packed but there were only two other guests that had already been served. I waited to see if she would acknowledge me, but still no "I will be with you shortly" or kind gesture of any sort. On top of those two experiences I got the same feeling from some of the other guests. Sad to say, I will never stay at this hotel again and I am reluctant to stay in Concord. read more
