Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing in several ways. While we were in the room, there was painting being done nearby, and the fumes were extremely strong. When we called the front desk, we were initially told no painting was occurring, only to later return and find wet paint signs posted. We also had maintenance issues in the room, including a toilet paper holder that was not attached to the wall and a shower that took over 20 minutes to even get warm. We understand this is a historic building, but we did not experience these kinds of issues during prior stays. Additionally, the dining room appeared to have only one server working. She was absolutely wonderful and did her best, but it was clear she was stretched too thin to provide attentive service to all guests. Overall, we still appreciate the character and location of the hotel, but this stay fell short of the experience we were expecting based on our past visits.

There is no room service. While you can order food online from the restaurant, you're required to go down to the lobby to pick it up yourself. On top of that, there is no food available after 10 p.m. The "all-day menu" advertised online is misleading, as it's actually only available during lunch and dinner hours, with no clear times listed anywhere. There's also no ice service as advertised on the property. You have to go searching for it yourself on specific floors (the 4th or 6th). I requested extra pillows at the time of booking, and that request was never accommodated. The building is located on a very busy street, and the noise was constant throughout the night. Between traffic and garbage trucks beeping around 4 a.m., getting a good night's sleep was difficult. The one and ONLY bright spot of the entire stay was the valet attendant, who was incredibly friendly and had a great attitude; easily the best part of the experience. Overall, this stay was a huge waste of money and fell FAR short of the service and comfort I associate with Hilton. I will NOT be staying here again, and you should consider a different establishment if you're looking for a truly comfortable and service oriented stay. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Everyone was kind and welcoming. Breakfast seems to be the go-to here as it was 12:30pm and most everyone was eating eggs and pancakes in some form. We looked over the menu. We live 5 minutes from here and have been wanting to stop in for sometime. We got lunch. I got a turkey rueben and some onion rings. My wife, not knowing what to get, got a buffalo chicken sandwich on a kaiser roll. The food was up quick. My wife started in on her sandwich but the chicken wasn't hot and the sandwich just fell apart. The chicken appeared to be two Tyson chicken tenders covered in lettuce and tomato. Not even really sauced with buffalo. My turkey rueben was decent. Not the most flavorful and seemed to lack thousand island dressing. If it was there, it wasn't noticeable. The onion rings, however, were good. Crispy and hot. A low key lunch but a little bit of a let down for us. I wouldn't come back here.

On top of that, the waitress helped herself to a tip on two separate checks and kept my change. When I asked for my receipt, she seemed like she didn't want to give it to me. She gave me one receipt, but not the other. I'll never eat there again. The food used to be really good, but now it's just okay. At this establishment, they do not give you back change because the waitress pocket it

Prices for hotels in the area range from high to outrageous. Normally I would stay in a Holiday Inn, but at over 200 dollars a night, we settled on Ramada for 160. The Ramada Lakeland is a very well polished turd. This right-off-the-highway facility has plenty of parking. The lobby looked clean and inviting with a couple of comfy couches and a very friendly staff. We boarded the elevator, which took 3 days to get to the top floor, and then headed down the hall. Our room was spacious and reasonably clean. All the pictures on their site are accurate... except the tub. Ignore the pictures of the tub, that will not be your tub. It was grimy, old, and kinda gross. The mat on the floor of the tub had "athlete's foot" written all over it. The shower "head" was a glorified open pipe. And the water... oh my God the water. My girlfriend took a shower and it was lukewarm. I took a shower that started lukewarm and ended slightly cooler than the Sun! There is no rhyme or reason to your water temperature. Barely warm or scalding hot. Adjusting the dial does nothing. NOTHING! Afterwards, dont worry about drying off. There are a total of 2 bath towels per room. My g/f uses 2 on her hair alone. I tried connecting to the wifi while waiting for my turn with a towel and found out that you can connect, but you get crap signal rendering it unusable unless you are sitting at the corner of the bed with your left leg slightly elevated. At bedtime, we found out the mattress was a sunken holdover from the 70s. I made the mistake of looking under the sheets. Do NOT do this. It's like you are a hobo living under a bridge, sleeping on a mattress that you found at the dump. The sheets were clean, the TV was tiny but had a reasonable amount of channels, and the black-out curtains kept all the light out. Unfortunately, the door is about an inch too small for the opening and you can see a bright rectangle of light coming in from the hall. Also, any hall noise is quite clear. Might as well have the door open. The same could be said for the windows. You can hear literally everything outside, and we were on the 4th floor! Highway noise, road noise, people in the pool. It was like we had our window open. There are a lot of good food options nearby, and the place is close to Publix Field, which is the whole reason we were in town in the first place. The bottom line, this is a hotel that should be charging about 1/2 of what they are, but because it's travel season/spring training, they can get away with jacking up the price. It definitely suited our needs, but even with renovations, it's not the greatest.

It was a fairly late check-in, around 10 pm, so the parking lot was quite full. It took one of those drive-around-the-building-twice trips before I found a suitable spot to park my wonder wheels.. At the front desk I was CHEERFULLY greeted by the tag team of Chris and Kayla! Kayla ended up handling my check-in. After a little 'speed-bump' that she handled like Mario Andretti, I was settling into a wonderfully sweet suite with a big bubbling tub! Thank YOU! My room was very clean, comfortable and spacious! And that big bubbling tub was begging me to bathe! I accepted the offer and soon I was soaking away the blues of the day.... The bed? Well, let me say I slept like a baby! (NO! No drool or downstair disasters! LOL). In the morning I awoke with a fresh rejuvenated smile on my face. I was recharged and raring to go! Of course, I took advantage of the free breakfast offerings in the lobby. It was clean, well stocked and not crowded. I got my fill and I was fine. For me, the INN was OUTstanding! I would definitely bubble away my troubles in this suite retreat again!
