In Dallas for work and decided to make a long weekend. We left hotel in Ft Worth on Saturday…read moremorning and drove 1.5 hours to Durant OK. This resort was amazing. It was my second time but my husbands first time. We checked in at the spa tower. Valet was included in our resort fee of 19.99 per day. Check in was easy and we went to get our casino cards. We walked around about 4 hours, even tho our room was ready when we arrived. Dropped our bags and left. We were on the 9th floor. Nice room and decent view. The casino is gigantic! So many games, slots and table games. There is a movie theater , concert venue, bowling alley, arcade, several restaurants and bars and a food court. We didn't make it to the pool but got wristbands in case we had time. Only there for 1 night. Casino: slots were tight but I played for most of the night on various blackjack and roulette games. My winnings were steady. There are plenty of machines. The only negative is while you are playing, bar service is pretty much nonexistent. I saw waitresses walking around the tables but not once at the machines and we were all over. Get your own drinks at a bar or cart before sitting or prepare to get up to get them. Food: we ate at Smashburger for lunch. I really enjoyed my burger and fries. They were smash fries with a nice sauce on them and truffle oil. The burger was flavorful. I got a caramel Cinnabon. Another great treat. For dinner we went to the seafood buffet. It was 55.00 each and we were excited. Every.single.thing was overcooked. Fried fish, shrimp, chicken and snow crabs, all overcooked so hard I couldn't finish one bite of any of them. That bad. The etouffee was good but the rice was crispy. I immediately called for the manager. She apologized profusely and offered a full refund. Yeah we couldn't eat there. Great service and I hope they took the feedback and made changes. Finally, I ate velvet taco and hubby had chicken strips from the hot chicken place , good late night eats on both fronts. Checkout time on Sunday arrived too fast but we got packed up to hit the road and got our free soft drinks to go. Got the valet validated and on our way. Excellent stay and we will go back. You do not have to leave once you get there.

If I'm paying over 50 bucks for a plate that I'm suppose to use more than 1x then I'd like to have did that. But it wasn't worth the extra plates. The crab legs were very skinny with little to no meat inside of them. If you need me to elaborate on the rest of the restaurants I certainly can. I for one don't feel like it's worth my time. I already wasted my money.

They have lovingly restored Carleton House and amassed a collection of antique musical instruments, photographs, and other artifacts displayed throughout the home. The very informative tour included music played by Karen and Steve. I can't say enough about the breakfasts; Karen is an outstanding cook, and she was very considerate about our dietary restrictions. We ate in the music room in front of a cozy fire on a different set of beautiful china each day. The attention to detail everywhere was amazing: rose petals and chocolates in the room, wide selection of shampoos/conditioners/etc., fresh baked cookies on arrival, I could go on and on. We will definitely be back!

I'M STILL IN SHOCK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED THERE!!!!! To be clear, this is the Economy Inn in Bonham,…read moreTX. The one star is generous!!!!! Yesterday, I met Pete, the check-in clerk at the counter to pay for a room for a one week stay for my friend and her two little dogs, who had just moved out of her home because it sold, and she had an interim period before moving Bonham. She had been working out in the heat that morning moving some last items into the storage building and she was a little dirty, sweaty and exhausted. She is a 63 year old lady with asthma, and she was a little worse for wear that morning, and definitely down-dressed for such work, so Pete saw her at her very worst, probably. The room for a week was my gift to her. I'm a Realtor, and I was also the one who sold the house she had been renting. This is NOT a casual acquaintance. This is a personal friend who is having a rough time right now, but he didn't know that. I explained to Pete that I was renting the room for her under my name. After he had me pay for the room and pet deposit, and ran my credit card successfully, he gave her a key to Room 131. It's directly across from the check in office. The room was so disgusting we both nearly puked! It was dingy at best and wreaked of urine and something else ungodly. I went back in and told Pete there was NO WAY! He said they didn't have another room and proceeded to run a credit to my card, but told me it would be a few days before I would see the credit.... (I need a cow manure emoji to insert here!) Side note: There is no reason it should take days to give a credit, when everything is automated and the charge was immediate. As of this morning, the charge is still on my account and no sign of credit pending, but I digress, .... My friend went on back to her truck while I signed something. THIS IS WHERE IT GOES VERY, VERY WRONG.... Pete asks if he can tell me someting. He proceeds to tell me that if I had come in alone and rented a room by myself, he would have given me a nice room. He said that "Management wants to keep out certain kinds of people", and so they use Room 131 as a deterrent and never actually rent that room, ... basically it's to get rid of people. He said that he's pretty sure he's seen my friends vehicle there before and they just didn't want people "like that" at their motel. He was very mistaken. She had never been there before. She had been living in another city, alone with her two little dogs. I'm sure by now you are wondering WHY he didn't just tell me that they had no vacancies, and let us be on our way without all that rigamarole. Me too! THEN he said he wanted to keep a good rapport with me for future buiness, so he, "Didn't want me to think that all their rooms were like Room 131." .... I think I was shell-shocked. I am embarrassed to tell you that I just stupidly said, "Ok", and left. I was so shocked that I was unable to process what just happened. Oh, and he was so suggary nice and polite in the way that he said it, that I felt like I had just been brain ninja'd. But as I drove away, the anger of the reality of what just happened began to quickly set in. I was furious that he judged this lady he didn't know, based on her look and her old clunker truck. I was angry that he had already made up his mind BEFORE he ran my credit card, that he was going to get rid of us. He could have just told me that he only had one room, and showed it to me BEFORE HE RAN MY CREDIT CARD, instead of essentially stealing my money for a few days. They are making interest off my money for every day that it's in their account instead of mine. I feel that this is a WHOLE RACKET they have going. The warning from this experience is that, if you try to rent a room there and they offer you Room 131, tell them where they can go! NO MATTER WHAT ASK TO SEE THE ROOM BEFORE YOU PAY!

Booked the hotel stay Dec 23 for Jan 24th. Received an EMAIL the evening of Jan 22nd that it was cancelled because they overbooked themselves. Instead of calling to see what they could do to make it right, they moved us 12 miles away to a much lower rated hotel for the same cost....telling us the great news that we would get double points! (I don't travel enough for points to be worth anything especially with the large amount of points needed to get real benefits.) When we called for assistance they would not tell us why we were specifically chosen to be bumped from our room and would not offer anything else as but the extra points. I purposely booked this hotel because of it's location to an event center for an event. Needed the specific room because out of state people were joining us. It was all done on purpose as a need. This hotel chain did not act sorry. We only got the scripted "sorry, here's points and a crappier hotel further away"

AMAZING PLACE!!!!!! I have only been to 2 bed and breakfasts…read morein my life. One a few months ago in San Antonio and then this one. Me and my husband were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and wanted to get away for a romantic getaway and Davis on Morton was PERFECT! It had everything beat from the bed and breakfast we stayed in in San Antonio. The only downfall that some people might have is that it's just a bedroom and bathroom. The one in San Antonio was like an apartment. It had a full kitchen, dining room and living room. But we didn't use any of it once. Most people don't while on vacation. We stayed in the North room. It had a queen size bed and the bathroom was PERFECT for a romantic getaway or even just a getaway with your significant other. When we first walked in we were greeted with smiles. Glen was outside and opened the door for us and Doris was inside greeting us with a friendly smile. We brought in some fast food and they let us-actually so sweetly insisted that eat at the main dining room table downstairs to be more comfortable. We were soaked from being at Lake Texoma so I said no, it was fine because I didn't want to get those gorgeous chairs wet. So sweet Doris appreciated the thought so she said she can cover them for us so we don't get them wet. So we ate down there and talked to them. They are both soooo sweet and they make you feel right at home. They told us if we bring in a bottle of wine or something we are allowed to use the wine glasses and cork opener that they have downstairs at their bar. They just aren't allowed to let us drink the alcohol at that bar because I think there are laws regarding that. Like having a licensed bartender there if alcohol is being served to the guests. But we were welcome to use anything down stairs. I felt right at home! Before we ate our lunch we brought in, Doris showed us around upstairs and all the rooms. They are all quite amazing. The east room was the one we almost went with but the picture didn't look like the jacuzzi tub would fit 2 people. But it defiantly will! And you get the bigger king size bed in that one. Deloris was so sweet that she would have let us switch to that room but it had already been booked. (By people that didn't even show up or call to cancel) and they don't charge a cancelation fee which just shows their character and how sweet they were but if you're not going to show up, you should call and let them know because someone else could have looked at that room wanting a jacuzzi tub and couldn't book it bc both rooms with jacuzzi tubs were booked and if they had called and canceled, someone else could have booked it. It's not right to screw them over like that. They are such sweet people. Up stairs there is a hallway that has a mini fridge that has sodas and water next to it are chocolates that anyone can help themselves to. The landscaping outside is beautiful. The wrap around porch downstairs is awesome too. It has tables you can eat at, places to relax and plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the weather and having a glass of wine or a beer. One thing I really loved about Davis on Morton was all the incredible antiques. You will see some in the photos. I took a lot of photos of our room (the north room) because I did feel like I couldn't really tell from their website how great at actually was! And I took picture of downstairs. I meant to take pictures of the outside but I forgot. But they do have plenty of those pictures on the website. All in all I loved 99.9999% of everything about this place (comfortable beds, BEYONG EXCELLENT customer service, room size, even quality toilet paper not cheap thin toilet paper that you get at most places, and the breakfast in the morning....O-M-G best I've ever had at a hotel or B&B!!!) And that's all on Doris! She's the cook! And Glen serves us and makes sure we have everything we need or if we need anything else. I would rate it 100% but porcelain dolls freak me out and they have one downstairs that freaked me out haha. That would never make me give them less than 5 stars. I would give them 10 stars if I could. It's a great place to stay if you want to go to Choctaw and go to the lake. Or if you just want a romantic getaway. Thank you so much Doris and Glen! You guys were spectacular and you have an amazing place! Thanks for making mine and Eric's anniversary weekend so great!!!!
