I must say I had the best rest for one night. I booked the hotel at the last minute, literally at nine p.m. I called the front desk after I couldn't reserve online. She stepped right in, booking my stay and giving me a quick tour. After I took a bath, yes, a bath, which is hard to find in hotels these days. I instantly went to sleep because the mattress was just right, not hard or soft, right in the middle. The next morning, I went down to the continental breakfast and enjoyed every delicious bite. It was a full breakfast with bacon, sausage, cheese, eggs, veggie egg, cereal, pancake, bagel, and oatmeal. My favorite was the gravy biscuit, and I love, love the assortment of desserts and juices. I went back upstairs and napped before leaving. I only had from 9 pm to 11 am stay here, but I enjoyed every second. It was enough stay to know I will be back very soon. read more

I should have taken pictures but I didn't. It was late and we were tired. Super good price. Our bedding, room, and towels were clean. We got the 2 bed suite so we had a third sleeping area. The pool was fine. The staff were all really nice. The breakfast attendant beautiful and was so sweet. The front desk was attentive and helpful. They have a guest pantry. We were able to walk to get dinner which was really nice after a long day in the car. I hope they get more good reviews. Great experience for us. read more

Me and my Wife came to Byram, Mississippi from California for a family reunion. We arrived after a 6 hour flight and were really tired. We came to Holiday Inn Express and Ebony the manager was at the front desk. She was very friendly and helpful and we really appreciated that. I admit.. after getting here at 1:30 am and not seeing anybody at the front desk and then having to wait at least 5 minutes after I knocked on the desk and their office doors, I was already decided on a 1-star rating. And that's just me very tired after 8 hrs of driving. But then this sweet lady come hurrying in and extremely apologetic about her tardiness, that about calmed me down some. It was a breezy check-in. And we were housed on the 2nd floor, the room very next to the elevator. The room is spacious and very clean. The beds and pillows are very comfy that it didn't take long before we all hit the sack and dozed off. I love that the toilet flushes really quietly so when I got up when the rest are still sleeping, it doesn't sound like a rushing gushing waterfall. We don't usually eat hotel breakfasts but I thought I'd check it out right before they closed. I have to say, they have pretty decent food. And the breakfast lady is super sweet. I had to bring breakfast to our room since I'm letting the boys sleep in. It's nice that they have trays to help with carrying food. When the breakfast lady is happy about her job, it shows on the quality of food and the cleanliness of the kitchen. I let her again on our way out... she sent us off with a huge smile. Good Evening , I greatly recommend this place! As Hardship is placed apon all of us .. currently struggling etc .... On my commute home to Louisiana from Jackson Ms for work... my car was having trouble late night and i was able to make it here. As i walked in trying to remain normal with everything going on i was instantly greeted by Ms Ladonna ! With a Large smile on her face she gave me a sense of a home feeling. I elated to her that i needed a room for tonight and was checking for availability. She cracked a joke with me saying i looked young lol (get that a lot) checked my id and saw it was an Alabama id. Asked me a few questions about my situation which i was able to let her in on my current life challenge. immediately she took me in like family and went out of her was to help me by pointing me directions of shops and local services to get my car looked at and serviced; while, also going out her way within her "job description" to help a complete stranger... for that i'm forever grateful. THANK YOU MS LADONNA!! 10/10 would stay here everything was clean and very safe! i have a small child and would recommend staying here ! read more

From the outside it looks like a typical Holiday Inn and Suites but as soon as you walk through the entrance it smells of 1980. This is definitely a remodeled older hotel. Matter of fact the 4th floor was still under renovation when I checked in. Biggest complaint was my bathroom was full of black mold in the ceiling, but if you can look past the musty smell in the front entrance and a disturbing amount of black mold in the bathroom ceiling the staff is super friendly 10/10. Pit stop while traveling through an unfamiliar area and I am not disappointed. We've stayed at a lot of jenky places through the years and this is definitely on my will stay again list. The city itself smells like dirty trash, but the hotel is extremely clean. Double queen room was spacious, and the breakfast well stocked (with pancake maker AND bacon, both a rarity among IHG's). Parking lot it well lit and staff is all super courteous. If you read through the other reviews, that is definitely not the current experience at this place. It was a good nights sleep and great stay for the last one of 2021! read more

Decent hotel. The rooms are VERY small but a in nice condition. There is only one elevator for the entire hotel and it is also VERY small. I would suggest a first floor room if possible or you will find yourself waiting a long time unless you take the stairs. The breakfast is poor at best and wasn't even ready on our final day. 30 minutes past when it was supposed to be ready and we finally left. No real restaurants of any quality nearby. You are better off driving to a better area or fast food is the best you are gonna get. At $130 per night is is simply overpriced. The Comfort Inn across the interstate is a nicer hotel for $40 less per night. read more

We got there at 11:30pm; with my mom, my 4 & 2 year olds, and I'm pregnant (due in a couple weeks). I pay over $100 for our hotels for cleanliness and comfort; especially as we are traveling for days from WV to TX. We ended up getting our room for free, so I appreciate that. The room had a ton of baby roaches (rm 214); in bathroom, on coffee pot, on tv stand, and biggest one was on the bedside table. They offered to spray the room, but I didn't want to breathe chemicals all night. We prepared to leave, but they showed us a 310 on third floor; by 1am we moved to that room. My feet and legs were swollen, so I needed a quick resolve. The coffee pot in there was also dirty; no cleans the keurig cup coffee makers because in both rooms they were filthy. This will be the hotel I stay in the next time I am in town. The front desk clerk was very friendly and got my husband and I a great rate and room. Everything was very clean. Loved the room and decor, the firm bed, and the soft sheets and pillows. Mr Kelly (?) The breakfast attendant, was also very friendly. He chatted with my husband and helped us with directions. The only flaw I came across, was the pool. I was hoping to take a swim during a very stressful weekend and was not able to. The pool was open, and clean, however there was so much chlorine that it burned my eyes and throat just after walking in the door. They were still burning for several minutes after walking out. Not a deal breaker, but was looking forward to a dip in the pool. (especially after hearing about the gators and snakes in the nearby lakes) read more

This is a newer hotel. The design is a bit more subdued than some of the other newer HIexpress facilities in the south, I'd call it more refined. The standard King room is large enough that a medium sized break dancing crew could practice or "battle" between the foot of the bed and the dresser/TV stand; it is a very wide room. Bathrooms are standard to the newer HIexpress properties, aside from the strangely mismatched granite between the shower and vanity. All in all a fairly solid property. read more

I should have noticed the 3 star rating and read the reviews prior to booking here. I made a reservation through booking.com for July 17-21. June 10th I modified that reservation to July 18-21st. For whatever reason, when I modified my stay dates, I received an email stating the hotel could not accommodate my change. 2 days later I received confirmation with the correct dates listed. I contacted the hotel directly on July 12th to confirm the reservation. Long story short, the hotel believes I made 2 reservations and charged me a no show fee. I explained to the manager there is no possible way I made 2 reservations! Ebony, the manager, is completely unreasonable and although I confirmed with their hotel staff, insisted I made 2 reservations... for the same time period. The lack of customer service alone is disgusting. I'll never stay at a Holiday Inn again and will strongly recommend my friends and family stag away from this crap hotel. read more

DO NOT BOOK HERE. We called and reserved a room. The desk took our card # and info and gave us a confirmation number. When we got there about 1/2 hour later, the desk clerk whom we had just talked to told us we did not have reservations and that she had not received any calls since the beginning of her shift (2 hours earlier). Upon questioning, she said we actually called hotels.com. So, I showed her my call log and recalled the last number which rang her desk. She continued to deny and give us varying stories. It's too early to tell yet if she stole our identity, but I would strongly urge you to not go to this motel. read more

Stay here one night. Check-in was quick and easy. Since I was asking for an early check in she said the only available was the room by the elevator on the first floor. I took it since I needed to get ready for a wedding. I knew it would probably loud with foot traffic. What I wasn't expecting was how loud the elevator itself was. The elevator shared a wall with the room and the builders didn't think to sound proof that wall. So I could here the mechanics all night. Needed having to turn on nature sounds just to drown it out. If you a quiet sleeper I suggest you take a room further away from the elevator. And then the in room fridge was loud too when it hummed. I did not get a good night sleep. I thought about just checking out and heading back home. The room was clean. And what really surprised me was that they had make-up remover wipes. That actually made my night! The breakfast was decent. They have a pancake making machine! Pretty neat. I would stay here again. Just not by the elevator. read more

My husband and I were on our way to Nola for our honeymoon when we got caught in an ice storm! We stopped here and ended up having to to stay two nights because of horrible road conditions. The staff was lovely and made us feel better about missing our honeymoon. The pool looked great and my husband loved the fitness room. Breakfast was well stocked and a lot of options. The only thing I didn't like was the noise from a factory behind the hotel. Since we were there all day it was pretty noticeable but not a deal breaker. read more

We booked a room with two beds for two nights. When we arrived we could not enter the room because the body odor was so bad it would make you want to throw up. They did not have another room with two beds so we had to take a room with one bed. The 2nd room also had body odor but it was not quite as bad as the 1st room and we had nowhere else to stay. We had a sick child with us so one bed was very uncomfortable. We checked out the next day and they refused to refund our money for the 2nd night even though we were not staying and the room made our child feel even more sick because of the odor. There were a lot of construction worker trucks in the parking lot which explains why the rooms have the smell of body odor. We usually stay at Holiday Inn, but we will never stay here again and our experience was so bad that we may not ever stay at a Holiday Inn again. We followed up with an email to the front desk manager after we returned home about how awful our experience was. It has been several days and she has not responded. Stay away from this hotel. read more
