I made a two night reservation in order to get my car serviced. It turned out it needed more work - 1.5 days worth, but it wound up being Friday/Monday at the mechanics. ..so 4 weeks ahead of time I booked a 2-night stay in a King Suite with Whirlpool at this hotel for a nice New Year's Eve mini-vacation - booking and PRE-PAYING thru a 3rd-party website. While still a few miles from the hotel to check in & around10:30pm, the hotel called me, to tell me that my room was not available and that they wanted to put me in a different room. Knowing that this wasn't going to be good, I pulled off the road & asked how it couldn't be available since I booked/paid a month ahead of time. They told me that it shouldn't have been offered to me (as if I just booked it), then that they don't have 'that type of room' (King Whirlpool rooms still show on the hotel's website), then that the room hadn't been 'prepared'. I received profuse apologies, but not a word about a partial refund for the downgrade. By this time, I just wanted out, so I asked for a refund which I was told I could get if I called the 3rd party & had them call the hotel - which I immediately did. The hotel told the booking company another story about what happened to the room which I forget (pirates?), but I was refunded & the 3rd-party agent helped me find another place (in the opposite direction ;) - and we managed to check in before midnight). I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express locations over the years and love them - but not this one! read more

I knocked off a star for the shower.. the shower head has the worst noise I've ever heard. LOUD screeching is the best way to describe it. We tried to eat the breakfast which was inedible. There wasn't much of a selection like there normally is and hotel breakfast is usually our favorite thing about staying. The bed was amazing. Very comfortable and soft. My husband and I joked about how to carry it out with us . Microwave worked great and was clean. Mini fridge worked great. Everything was overall good. read more

You know for what you are looking for, it's a nice clean room. Big bed, nice TV, a lot of options at the continental breakfast (with a little fireplace in dining area) woman at checkin counter was friendly, and it has a decent size pool and hot tub (which wasn't working when I went but I assume it usually is. There is plenty of parking, although I wish there was parking lot access from the front of the building. There's a road that goes in front and twice I turned down that road instead of realizing I had to keep going straight. Otherwise it's a good location and had everything I was looking for in a Holiday Inn, so no complaints. read more

The house keeping is definitely under standards for the price. My bar sink didn't work. Most people were very helpful however I went to get ice and I saw an employee screaming at another employee. She walked away and made the lady cry... not sure if she was there boss or a staff member but we heard it from our room. It was a girl with grayish hair at top and really bad teeth. Alll of the employees otherwise were very nice! My husband was taken back! My husband was specific about maid not going in the room while we're out. We were in town for a Taekwondo tournament and stayed here on a Friday night. Check-in and hospitality was exactly what I have come to expect from HIEs. The evening shift crew were very friendly and welcoming. Both of the rooms I reserved were prepared and ready to go. We had one king room and one king suite room. Both were very nice and spacious. The King suite included a couch that had a pull-out bed, and a wet bar with sink, microwave, and mini-fridge. Both rooms we're very clean. My only complaint is that they were directly above the pool, so they did have a bit of a damp feel/chlorine smell to them. But, we're a family of competitive swimmers, so it wasn't too bothersome. The hotel has a very nice large pool, and a hot tub. However, the hot tub was under construction. There was also visible water damage and ceiling destruction on one of the recessed lights that I would hazard a guess was by a leak from one of our rooms bathrooms right above. Breakfast was your standard hotel fare. My only issue being that the kitchen staff struggled to keep the buffet filled. We rolled down for dinner at around 730, and most everything was empty and stayed that way until about 8. This was frustrating as we had to be at our tournament at 8. The hotel was aware that there were two sports tournaments going on and they're the only hotel in the area, so I feel they should have been better prepared. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the price was fair and reasonable. We would recommend this to others and would not hesitate to stay here in the future. read more

Staff not warm or welcoming. Air conditioner in the room was broken and we poured sweat all night. We couldn't sleep. We asked for a late checkout of 1 hour because we got a late start due to no sleep. Zero accommodation. Absolutely filthy breakfast area. Went to this Holiday inn some time back but boy did it change. First place needs update and face lift. The location is great but there are issues. The swimming pool bottom looks dirty and the rugs are worn. Ceiling vents in breakfast area need to be cleaned and chairs in this area have peeling seats. Now onto our room the 1st day we got to our room it was neat and clean the issue was when we got back to room later that night the smoke alarm kept beeping and found out plunger for sink stopper was not attached we were tired and tried to sleep through the night. The next day went to front desk at 8 am advised them of issue and we went on our way. To our dismay nothing was done which upset us to no end. Thankfully the wonderful front desk lady Jan was able to get us another room. Would stay here again but they need to get it updated asap. Another HI Express in need of a makeover. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was mostly clean. Laundry room equipment worked. Treadmills, elliptical, and stationary bike were dated but worked. We got a two queen suite with a pull out couch. It felt like the room was too small for all the beds. Maybe at one point this was a king suite. The outlets were in always places. One outlet on the lamp on the nightstand for two beds. Better yet, because of where the mattresses were placed, it appears the ground from the lamp plug has broken off in the outlet! Also, the peephole was missing from our door. I didn't notice it initially, and didn't feel like moving rooms, so I went to the front fest & asked for a post it note to put over the hole. Mold above the shower in the bathroom on the popcorn ceiling (made me miss the asbestos of my childhood!), but with this humidity that is to be expected. If we are back in the area we will probably stay elsewhere. read more

Called hotel to check on dates. This occurred about 3 weeks before my stay. There was availability, but I was turned over to corporate reservation line. I had found a quote on-line for $164/nite. Reservation line said there was no such rate. After a discussion the girl, who sounded like she may have been Indian, said there was such a rate, but it didn't allow cancellations. The discussion continued and I was finally quoted a rate of $166 with 7 day cancellation. I took it. When I received my confirmation I noted that that rate went to over $200/nite for Friday & Saturday. When I was checking in the rate for the weekend was even higher ($265), but the week day rate had dropped some. It was still more than the $166/nite for the 5 nites. The room seemed very damp even with the AC on. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness or the staff. The so-called buffet breakfast (included) turned out to be Jimmy Dean pre-made sandwiches. Even the orange juice dispenser didn't work most of the time. Not what I would call a "hot buffet". I used the side entrance for convenience sake and there was an accumulation of trash lying around a waste can beside the door. This accumulation got bigger each day and wasn't cleaned up the entire 4 days. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel and if I were Holiday Inn, I'd be embarrassed to have my name on it. read more

Front desks staff was OK. Elevator was VERY slow. Once you go inside the elevator - the stench was always different and awful. Breakfast was OK - That Pancake Machine kept breaking down every batch of pancakes. Rooms were clean - OK; Nothing special. Pool - again; OK - Some "Shifty" characters that always seem to be hanging out @ the pool; turns out - these people are employees. Very strange! read more

We've been staying in the Lititz, PA area for over 20 years as part of an annual church conference, and only discovered this hotel in the last year. It has been a refreshing change from the lackluster experience we have had with other hotels in the area. The staff is friendly and eager-to-please, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the building is very quiet which makes for an excellent sleeping experience. The only downside is that the curtains for the room are see-thru and there are no thicker curtains that can be drawn closed to block out the light. If you are shy or are light-sensitive when trying to sleep, this could be a major issue for you. Overall, highly recommended. read more

I had to rent a room because my car was being fixed down the street. I will uber away if that ever happens again. The front desk staff was horrific. I have never dealt with such rude front desk staff. It was as if I was putting them out to stay there. They should not make a deal with bookings.com if they treat you like second class because you are a smart efficient traveler and now there would be no reason to deal with those attitudes directly. They consistently push their little holiday inn program. Who wants that? I asked to stay a half hour extra and Ms Crankster at the front desk said no that was a special privilege for members. I travel a lot and will be sure never to stay at a holiday inn... It's too bad. The rest of the staff was awesome. read more

I got a sinking feeling in my gut when we walked in and there were boxes, junk, etc. sitting around the cluttered front desk area. The gentleman at the desk was dry & somber. Not once did he smile. As I opened the door to room 225 I smelled fish. Either someone had a fish fry in the room or someone had a very good time or ordered takeout Cod. There were filthy fingerprints all over the fridge and door covering the fridge. The TV screen was covered in dust. The one positive about this nightmare dump was that the tub, toilet and sink appeared clean. Run Run Run! read more

3 stars for a Holiday Inn experience... The Holiday Inn was fine (or a-ok from a Yelp perspective) except for 3 small details (that are actually gross). 1. Someone else's pubic hair in the bathtub 2. Moldy shower curtain 3. Sticky and clearly un-rinsed soap dish I get that this isn't supposed to be a 5 star establishment, but moldy shower curtains? That made me a little queasy... The bed was decent. The room was large. The bathroom was sub par. The breakfast was ok. I'd stay there again if I'm in the area because it's close to work stuff, but it could use a little TLC. read more

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last while in the area for a meeting. Everything at the hotel was going very good ... it was well on it's way to 4 stars. The hotel is pretty new, the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and well appointed. The problem was that the bed was awful. It was clean but it was the lumpiest bed I've ever slept in. Considering was at the hotel for less than 12 hours and 8+ of it was spent in the bed that's costing them points. We recently stayed at this facility. The room was clean and the breakfast was quite good. We were disappointed the hot tub was down for repair and the pool was on the cool side. What I would really like to commend the facility on was their staff. When we checked in we were directed to an Amish restaurant for dinner that was spectacular and just what we needed after a long day. Then in the morning we sent our young granddaughters to the front desk to ask for flyers to 4 locations. They came back with printed maps and numbered notes on each to direct us in a logical progression from 1 to the next. This was above and beyond what we expected and as a result had a wonderful time in Lititz. For this alone I highly recommend this facility. read more

I stay at HIEX often and have for over 15 years, normally teeter between spire and platinum status and have NEVER been this dissatisfied with an IHG property. We booked two rooms with, our parents, needing special assistance. After booking we called and spoke to the staff explaining the mobility challenges and they assured us a room next to the breakfast area to minimize walking. We arrive and the handicapped is placed in the room as far away from the requested spot as you can get.. I would NOT recommend any property who places this low a value of importance on the customer. read more

Reserved a room here over the 4th of July because it was the only place available, but it turned out to be fantastic! The hotel has obviously just been renovated; there's nice, new carpet, fresh paint, etc. My room was spacious, quiet, and very clean. Air conditioning works well, and the cleaning staff actually left extra towels without my having to request them each day. I'll definitely stay here again! read more

This hotel experience was the worst I've had in years and I'm amazed at how poorly my stay was handled. I was traveling with my one year old grandson and my wife and we booked our room for four nights. Of the three nights that we stayed there, housekeeping only made up our room once. The first day they failed to make up our room, I notified the front desk staff and I was told that housekeeping didn't make up our room because we had a do not disturb sign on our door. We did not have one on our door. The 2nd and 3rd times our room wasn't made up we were told the same thing. I had to carry our room trash downstairs to a trash can. The jacuzzi was not working and the swimming pool had a ladder missing the top step and there were two rust bolts exposed that could obviously injure someone climbing up or down. What amazed me was that I wasn't offered any compensation for the lack of housekeeping for three nights. At $170/night I would expect great customer service. I will never again stay here. Do not be fooled by the advertisement of "suites". The hotel does not in fact have suites and what they call a suite is simply a standard hotel room. We specifically chose this hotel expecting a suite so my wife and I could put the children to sleep behind closed doors and enjoy the evening together but when we arrived we found a standard hotel room and at that point it was too late to change our reservations. Our family stayed at Holiday inn this weekend for Lititz's big craft show. The room was very comfortable & very clean. The breakfast was great & had a nice selection. The breakfast lady, Michelle was so friendly, she was very busy running around putting hot food out, but had time to say good morning to everyone. They have a great staff. Had a great time at Holiday Inn Express. We reserved the two room suite with Whirlpool. Had two flat screen TVs with almost every channel you could ever want, a fireplace and a king size bed. The breakfast the next morning was really good. Make a great getaway from your every day life. I think it was reasonably priced for what you get. read more
