This is my second time here. First time was in 2023 and they were renovating the lobby area and there was a wedding. The wedding was loud and disruptive until 10 pm. Breakfast was in a conference room with impromptu tables and chairs. It was a weird experience back then. This time, it had improved. The lobby is finished and it looks nice and updated. Very modern. The restaurant is done and clean. Breakfast had some clean and relatively new silverware. The experience this time was at least better. The rooms are not done renovating yet and it is still outdated. As of this date, they are still working on Floors 4 and 5 and 5 has been closed off. The location isn't too bad. It's great for golfing which I think is why people like coming here. read more

This is where we stay when we visit Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster. We never get acknowledged or explained the perks at this place for being diamond members. They have free breakfast for members but really nothing special. But my daughter loves their pools so I guess we will keep going here. read more

The Doubletree Hilton is a perfect location to stay when in Lancaster. It is a huge facility, has a helpful staff, clean and quiet rooms, and quick elevators. We enjoyed the warm cookies that they provided upon checking in and the availability to have a virtual key, within the Hilton Honors app. During our stay, we had an issue with the room, it was resolved very quickly, and greatly appreciated. If you would like to have breakfast on site, Hilton provides a full buffet for $15.00/pp. The resort is centrally located within Lancaster, close to eateries, downtown, and all attractions. I recommend the Hilton DoubleTree Resort and enjoy your stay. read more

Hotel has an onsite restaurant and pool area, if you're traveling as a family or with kids this is a nice place to stay. Not sure why it's called a resort because they just have a restaurant and large pool area with a few arcade games, there wasn't a spa or any other amenities. I absolutely loved our stay this past weekend. Everything was perfect, from parking to check-in and the free warm cookie you get at check-in. My kiddos loved the pool even though they did complain about the chlorine being to strong. Other than that I have no complaints. Oh the breakfast buffet is also amazing!! Great place to stay outiside of Lancaster, PA. The hotel is super quiet, clean, and has an overall scent of bleach...which is reassuring. They do not have a complimentary breakfast, but there is a Starbucks and McDonalds within walking distance if you don't want to pay the $15 for the buffet. There is also a great pool and splash pad for the kids- this is a great feature during those humid Pennsylvania summers. read more

Hotel was very nice. Rooms were a nice size and beds were comfortable. Grandkids had a great time in the waterpark and the pool. Both are indoors They had a breakfast buffet which is reasonable at $15 Only downside was the lack of customer service. I used the online key so didn't need to stop at the front desk. They claim they provide the cookie at checkin which is standard at doubletree but nobody was at the counter when we arrived Went down to the front desk later to get a recommendation for a place to eat. Again nobody at the front desk but after a couple of minutes someone did come up front. She could not give ANY recommendations and could not find a listing that they usually have printed out How does a person at the front desk not know of one place to eat in the area?? Later in the night my granddaughter got a small cut and i did not have a bandaid. I went down to the front desk and again nobody there. I decided not to wait and went across the street to CVS and bought a box Hilton sends a survey a day or so later asking how the stay was. I responded back about their customer service and i get a canned response from the general manager stating she was sorry to hear about the issue but stated they are redoing their rooms and hope we will revisit again. ???? I had a horrible experience at this hotel. I booked a king suite room 3 months before my trip. Upon checking in everything seemed to be normal. I entered my room to find that I was not in a suite and had two double beds in my room. I was traveling with my husband and daughter. I went back up to the desk and told them that I was placed in the wrong room. The lady advised me that she could see that I booked a king suite but her manager downgraded my room because of maintenance. I asked her why I was not called or notified prior to my stay or when I checked in. I was told "that is not my job." I asked to speak to said manager and she advised me that she was on vacation and couldn't be reached. I asked how I was being accommodated and was told there was nothing that she could do. We asked about adjoining rooms and she advised me that that was not possible. I told her I was already in the room and saw that there was and adjoining room. She finally agreed to give me the room. Later that night at around 9PM after my daughter was already asleep the night shift called my room and let us know that she was not aware that we were given the room and it was not marked down anywhere. The second night our room keys were deactivated. The customer service was awful and I could not recommend this hotel any less if you want peace of mind while traveling. The hotel is beautiful so it is a shame the staff is incompetent. read more

My favorite hotel in Lancaster. Went for a weekend stay around Christmas time with my daughter. It was nicely decorated and the staff were so friendly and helpful when I had any questions. The on site water park is a highlight to the hotel, along with the free hot Chocolate chip cookies at check in. We came in to see a show and have dinner near by at the Dutch Apple Theater. Hotel is at a good location near many food restaurant's. As you can see from the photos, my daughter had a blast! Definitely worth paying a little more for a nice stay. Very clean and have very soft beds. Plan on coming back again next year around Christmas. read more

I would like to recognize Rose from the DoubleTree Resort for her exceptional service. She truly deserves to be a brand ambassador for the company. The day before my arrival, I called the hotel to request an early check-in as I was attending my best friend's wedding at 2 PM and hoped to freshen up after landing from Vegas. Rose answered my call with warmth and understanding. She assured me that she would be working the day I arrived and would do everything she could to accommodate my request. True to her word, when I arrived, Rose had my room ready, greeted me with a bright smile, and took the time to verbally guide me around the hotel. She may not realize just how much of an angel she was for me that day--I had been so anxious about missing the wedding, and her kindness and efficiency made all the difference. Rose was personable, compassionate, and went above and beyond to make my stay stress-free and enjoyable. I was so happy to see her again at checkout and gave her a big hug to thank her for everything. Please know what a gem you have in Rose--her service was truly unforgettable. read more

I stayed here about ten months ago. I came to see "Noah live" at the famous Sight and sound theater. Upon arriving I looked at the satellite imagery of this area and was surprised at how weird this place looked. When I arrived inside check in took a little while but that was fine, place was busy. Then had some trouble finding my room which was my own fault but this specific hallway was hard to find. After being in my room for a little bit i decided to go take a look around. I investigate and look in every nook and cranny of hotels like I'm @Ryantrahan or @sambucha. Any ways, the bottom floor was heavily under construction with carpet being covered with plastic. Upon further inspection of looking through nice neat little rooms with books, I came across some heavily under construction hallways. Some said not to enter. Others didn't. I came to some very disturbing hallways that looked like I might not get out if I went in. Then I came to a cement hallway that was lit with old fluorescent lighting, there was a turn in the hallway that I could not see around. I never went in. THIS NEED FURTHER INSPECTION BY @Ryan Trahan. Nice hotel a few miles south of Downtown Lancaster. Friendly staff who will go the extra mile to help you, especially Kirsten. Comfy beds. Breakfast had limited selections but good food - french toast and pancakes with real berries, made to order omlettes, and more. Yum. Keep in mind the two room suite, despite costing more, isn't significantly bigger than the regular rooms with two queens. It just means you have a sofa and a bed in separate rooms with a door in between so people have some privacy. Not necessarily worth paying more. There is supposedly some indoor water park on the second floor, but I, a single, male adult, did not use it. But I guess kids like it. If you're not using the pool, water park, or any other activities, it may not be worth the extra cost, unless you have the $200 Amex Hilton resort credit like I do. But if you have a family and want fun at the hotel, I guess it's a good deal. read more

Just right! Our room has a sitting area with pullout couch/sleeper, which will be perfect for our visiting college student to stay overnight. I like the little coffee bar area which also works for me to do my hair and makeup outside the bathroom. I like how the bedroom has a separate door - so we'll be able to have a little privacy when our son shows up. Bathroom is small but works just fine. Shower is clean and comfortable. I do like the Crabtree and Evelyn soaps. I LOVE the swimming pool area. The temperature was so comfortable to get right in. The pool is quite large for a hotel pool. The large and numerous windows let in some gorgeous sunshine. If we had small children, I would be thrilled with the large, separate shallow pool and water play park area - adorable! First time I've ever seen a video arcade with games for children/young people. In the area next to the pool. Looks interesting. Exercise room could be seen from pool area. We didn't go in, but it looks very nice and good sized. Hotel lobby is grand. This is where we will stay next time we're in town! **also, Starbucks conveniently located in the next parking lot. GIANT grocery store just across the street. Morr Indoor Shooting Range in next parking lot. CVS Pharmacy nearby. A lovely golf course area with some good hills for an exercise walk located just behind the hotel a bit. read more

Mold in the bathroom and the 'blackout ' curtain didn't extend all the way around the window so the sun still came up in my face. *Sunday Brunch Review Only* First time back since I was a child and definitely not what I remembered. The quality just isn't there any longer. Don't let the photos deceive you... Cream of asparagus soup & Italian wedding soup - over salted Corn - canned Prime rib - tough and flavorless Eggs - watery Salad - lacking toppings (tomatoes and cucumber only) Pasta - okay Chicken - dry and flavorless Dessert table - meh :/ Overall, not worth the price tag. 2 adults + 2 children + 1 Bloody Mary = $117. Again, quality all around lacking. Over salted, bland food. Our server was very nice, but there were a few times that we had to clear our own plates and refill our own drinks (the tray with water and tea was beside us). I expected more from the breakfast section. Only eggs, sausage and bacon. Most buffets have French toast or pancakes, maybe even bagels. It's not uncommon for quality to be sacrificed when you are serving hundreds of people, but this was way below par. Drive the 10 minutes into town and get yourself a high quality, freshly made meal for less. read more

My husband & I stayed here when the Fiat Club America put on the yearly Fiat event (Fiat Freakout). This was the hotel that was chosen for us to stay at and where we had some dinners The staff were extremely helpful and nice during the stay. They went above & beyond to help us all. The food we had at the two dinners for the Fiat Freakout was delicious. I know everyone also had fun in the parking lot with all the cars. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I can tell you that the DoubleTree Resort By Hilton Lancaster is clearly not a place I care to ever stay in again. The place is really crazy like no other. It's sort of a wedding party hangout. They have their own wedding chapel as well as an on call duty minister to preside over wedding ceremonies. And because it centers around an event area used for wedding parties, be sure to get an outside room or you're going to be listening to wedding party music all night long. When I checked in and went to my room, I found out everything had been left unplugged. That includes the television, the lights & etc. along with other connective wiring that was beyond me. So, back up to the front desk, got the usual apologies, a ticket for a complimentary breakfast, but the buffet type, not the sit down service type, and a new room. My room was actually very nice but involved a lot of walking and elevator riding as I think I was on the first floor and the reception lobby area and restaurant area are on the second floor. Sounds weird, I know, but that is the arrangement. One of the miserable things is that my hallway always had clutter sitting around in it. Trays with leftover food and scrapes along with baby cribs and luggage carts. Worse, they didn't seem to go away but remained for over a day, then only to be replaced by more. read more

Also, bathroom in room was not clean, someone's hair in the sink and on the shower wall. Phone in the room looked like it was from 1971 and it didn't even work. Restaurant was just basic. The staff at the hotel is friendly. But unless they work on some things to bring this up to what it was when it was Willow Valley, I don't think I'd return. read more

To start this review, I feel it is extremely important throw a disclaimer out there. Growing up in the 80s, I used to come here EVERY summer when it was Willow Valley Inn. Many years ago, Hilton bought the property and converted it to a DoubleTree, converting a family-owned Amish Country staple into a corporate hotel. This conversion was not for the better, and it undoubtedly colors my opinions of the property. With that said, I will attempt to be as objective as possible. I had the opportunity to stay here for two nights while attending a conference at nearby Millersville University. Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted by the young lady behind the desk and presented with my signature cookie. Within a few minutes, I was in my King-bedded whirlpool bath room on the ground floor. The room was perfectly nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was clean and comfortable, but the HVAC unit was obnoxiously loud at times. A few other reviewers had mentioned the noise from fellow guests here, but I did not experience any disruptions, although it was fairly obvious that the property was not at a high occupancy and there were no events occurring in the indoor Palm Court, which was literally directly outside my room's window. If there had been, I'm certain I would've been able to hear everything happening there. The whirlpool bath was a fantastic addition and well worth the extra $10 a night I paid to upgrade to it from a standard king room. The bathroom as a whole was quite nice, although the shower stall leaked slowly my entire visit. If you have kids, the pool area will be a huge hit. There's a large traditional indoor lap pool as well as nice-sized kiddie "splash pool" area. There's also a small arcade room and a nicely-appointed gym by hotel standards including treadmills, ellipticals, free-weights and resistance-based strength machines. Sadly, the food choices here are abysmal. Ironic, because what made this property famous when it was Willow Valley Inn was its smorgasbord and bakery. Sadly, those days are long gone. The bar is perfectly serviceable, but certainly not impressive, but the staff were very nice. I reviewed the Cafe 24 Hundred restaurant and lounge separately if you'd like to read more. Finally, back when this was Willow Valley, it was a destination in and of itself. Now with that gone and over half of the original property sold off and converted into a strip mall, it certainly isn't, and there really isn't much of interest in the immediate area. Sure, there's still the adjacent 9-hole public golf course, and there's the wedding chapel that still hosts regular functions, but there's not much else happening here. It seems to be the closest name-brand hotel to Millersville, but other than that, you'll be much closer to the attractions in Lancaster or Strasburg at various other properties. All in all, there certainly isn't anything particularly wrong with this property, but beyond the friendly staff, there's nothing particularly special about it, either. There are many superior properties at similar of better price points in the surrounding area. It was nice to return here for a healthy dose of nostalgia from my youth, but it also makes me sad to see how they've sterilized what used to be a truly wonderful place. read more

"I had a week before my hilton resort credit expired..." is my typical start to another random adventure. I didn't have high expectations coming here, but it was the closest Hilton resort to NYC, and hey, like I said, my credit was expiring. So off to Lancaster we go. This is definitely a very nice establishment for a DoubleTree. Large, open, and beautiful space. The staff, though a bit understaffed in the kitchen, were helpful and friendly. The room was typical Hilton. Breakfast was nice - made-to-order omelettes and eggs, with local PA milk. Room service was fantastic - they happened to have prime rib the night we were here, and omg.... that reminded me why prime rib is my all time favorite cut and that acorn squash is still the best acorn squash I've ever had. (which, I tried to recreate over Thanksgiving this year, but still going to say their version is better). Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing weekend getaway. I really didn't expect to end up here, but really glad I did, and look forward to coming back to visit Lancaster again. read more

I so love the Double Tree and the cookies are always hot and amazing!!!! Great customer service, always with a smile! I was there for a conference and enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and comfortable! Room service did a fabulous job! Breakfast was great (made to order and buffet style). The have a bar, meeting rooms and a beautiful lobby! Computer available for use and a little store for late night snacks or forgotten items. Great for a get away alone, with the honey or family and friends! It was a good stay. The hotel recently reopened the pools, so it was a little crowded and with Covid 19 here to stay that made me a little apprehensive. That was the only concern that I had from this wonderfully beautiful hotel. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The hotel staff was accommodating and friendly. I booked a room for my significant other's birthday. His family came to the hotel to celebrate with us and it was not an issue. We had an ice cream cake and the hotel was gracious enough to store it in one of the hotel freezers. The beds are comfortable and clean. There is a beautiful ballroom, serene lake with Adirondack chairs to sat and relax in, a small church, and a golf course. The hotel is huge, beautiful and clean. The staff is warm, friendly and professional. I can't wait to stay here again. read more

I find it amazing how one business transaction can destroy a business that run with success for decades. My family had been regular guests at Willow Valley Resort for many years. We were devastated when we found out the property as sold. But we never imagined what kind of transformation would take place. Gone are the main building, swimming pool, corn maize, restaurant, smorgasbord. In its place are a new CVS snd parking lot. Double Tree changed the entire landscape of what was once a treasured place to escape. We will never be back! Willow Valley will now be just a memory. read more

Had a good time here. Pools were nice, especially the kids area. Employees were nice. I would say the breakfast buffet (where you need to pay) needs improvement. Same exact foods are offered at the Hampton Inn for their free breakfast. Would have been nice to get a heads up that a wedding was happening one of the nights we were there. Our window literally looked out onto the wedding reception. I really wanted to throw the curtains open and start dancing with my family but we decided against it. read more

Pretty nice, even for a doubletree. Digital key checkin so I only had to stop by desk at checkin to pick up a couple of waters. My room was a good size suite, not sure if they all are but I was impressed. Lastly, good size lane pool, very rare in a standard hotel. Was able to get in a decent swim before dinner. Looks can be deceiving. The hotel looks nice online and even when you walk in with the large airy lobby. However, the rooms are ill-configured (my "two bedroom" was a one bedroom with a bed where the sofa should have been), the windows don't open so the room is stuffy and the air is dank, and the curtain didn't extend far enough or wrap around the edge to fully cover the window or obstruct the view from outside. The hotel has a golf course that provides a scenic backdrop. However, across the street is a CVS and a McDonald's and a smattering of other less-than-attractive sites. Also, we were disappointed that there was no path for walking encircling the course. Overall the service was good, though. There were a couple staff members who really couldn't be bothered but most were nice and attentive. Tammy at the front desk was great as was Stacy in the restaurant. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool or the play area (because of our agenda) but it appeared to be closed anyway. read more

Here's an updated review following the hotel's recent renovations... Rarely have I seen hotel staff try harder to please customers, especially with such a flawed building. This hotel is great for families with children. The hotel puts on a great kid's program during school holidays, especially around New Years. Pretty much everyone has kids with them during school breaks. The only reason I give this hotel any stars is for the amazing staff, kid's programs, and pool - waterpark area. The staff even does amazing little things well, like having free goggles available at the pool. Note: the waterslide was removed. No kids with you? Stay at the Marriott instead. Problems: Noise - you hear everything from above you, the sides, the hallway. Feels like there is no concrete between the floors. This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed. The "family suite" front bedrooms are ridiculously loud - from the queen bed you can hear every word spoken in the hallway. You hear every footstep from the hallway above. It's not really a suite either - just an extra wall between beds for privacy - and only 1 bathroom. Rooms now have safes. Breakfast is below average for a Doubletree. Although there is a made-to-order omelet station, there's not enough fresh & healthy choices. Lots of low quality pre-made pancakes and store bought cereals. No fresh berries, nuts, vegetables, or meats. This hotel really doesn't do anything correctly when it comes to food. Even the Doubletree cookies were burned. All in all, I'd give this hotel 5 stars for families with children and 1 star for everyone else (mostly because of the severe noise problem and the low quality food). That rounds out to 3 stars overall. read more

Stayed overnight with my wife and two kids (ages 6 &9), it was our second time staying here, everyone receives a complimentary cookie when checking in.The room was fine(beds were comfortable),there are two swimming pools (one geared for little ones) and jacuzzi which wasn't working.We didn't eat at hotel there is a pizza store across the street that was good and we eat at McDonald's which is also across the street also. There is a gym down by the pool which I used in the morning, not bad. My family enjoyed their time here and would stay again. read more

Nice hotel, but less than awesome service. We apparently booked our room the same night as 2 wedding receptions. The hotel has a central atrium (similar to embassy suites), surrounded by all rooms. When we booked we were not told there would be a reception in the atrium, blaring music until 11pm. They did not mention this at booking or check in. Normally I wouldnt care, but my 2 babies, 1 of whom is severely autistic, could not fall asleep, and was very upset by the loud noise and sudden screams from the guests. We would have taken our business elsewhere had we known what to expect the night of our stay. But no warning, and no refund to go somewhere more quiet left me unhappy with our night there. *and the front desk was handing out cookies with nuts without asking about allergies. Not a problem for us, but clear disregard for those that do have allergies. You're a Hilton hotel, do better. read more

The DoubleTree Hotel is next to the town of Lancaster. It's an older hotel but it's been nicely updated. There is a Starbucks next door which is really convenient. The hotel overall is clean and staff is friendly. Each room has a separate living and sleeping areas which is really nice. The hotel rates are very competitive for the area. I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel. read more

While the room was Clean, nice, comfortable... the staff is pathetic. Stayed after a wedding. The Bride was told that the bar would stay open until 2 for us returning at 10pm, the concierge said that it doesn't work like that and the bartender can choose to close when she feels like it. Packed bar at 10:30 with 40 more people coming. Closed. Rude. Inhospitable to say the least. Check out is at 11. Housekeeping knocked at 8:30. Went to get coffee and heard three different discrepancies at front desk on payment options with other guests whom were not in our party. I've been in the hospitality industry 20+ years. This is not the way that a Hilton should be treating their guests. I will continue to use Hilton, but not this one. Straight trash. read more
