Hotel is in good conditiion and clean with two sitting areas and a business center in the lobby. A small indoor pool, good size gym and guest laundry facilities available. Plenty of parking with handicap permit and Diamond Member spots near the door. Covered portico for loading and unloading your vehicle. Hallways and rooms are carpeted. Room vestibule is a hard surface floor. The fridge, microwave, ice and coffee are in this area as well as two hooks and a small shelf. The room has a good size built-in luggage rack that will fit 2 small suit cases or one large. The desk area with lamp was a good size with a comfortable chair. The chaise lounge is comfortable and will fit 3 people side by side. That side table was very useful. The King bed was too soft for my preference. Felt like I was in a divit. Large fluffy pullows in a variety of soft and firm. Sheets are soft and comfortable. Aircon controls are inside the unit. It was a bit loud but not outrageous. Everything was clean and tidy. Two roll up/down shades: outer one for privacy lets the light through while the inner one completely blocks out the light. Bathroom looks updated with a large walk in shower enclosed by two rolling glass doors. Bath mat is on the door mounted towel rod/handle. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mounted inside the shower. There is also a small shelf for your personal care items plus a large safety bar. Plenty of vanity space. Lotion and hand soap are mounted on the wall. No small soaps. Three bath towels, two face and hand towels are soft and absorbant. The faucet is installed so far away from the sink, water barely falls into the bowl and everytime it is used makes a wet mess on the vanity. Toilet is clean, worked well and had two rolls of tp. Tissues on the vanity. Towel rack over the toilet. The breakfast area, behind doors when out of service, is well organized with entrances/exits on each end. Six hot food options were available during our Monday morning visit. Veg/egg white omlette, egg and cheese omlette, sausage links, turkey sausage, biscuits and gravy. Oatmeal with some add ins, cold cereal, fresh fruits, juices, fridge with milk, yogurt and cream cheese take up the back wall. The front wall is a pancake maker with fixins, bagels, bread and muffins near the toasters and jellies. Coffee, available throughout the day, is made by a machine on demand and takes a minute to pour. This is a strong brew. Decaf and hot water are available from the machine as well. Tea and cocoa are on a seperate counter next to the two coffee machines where you will find creamer during non-breakfast hours and half and half is added during breakfast service. A line quickly formed at the coffee station during breakfast. A variety of seating is available in the breakfast area with one TV showing news throughout the day. A local newspaper is available here as well. Staff were pleasant. A small store offers snacks, energy drinks and the like. Soda machines are located on each floor between the elevator and ice machine. One elevator seemed enough for this three story hotel. read more

More run-down than other Holiday Inn Express hotels at which I've stayed. There's no mini-fridge or microwave which most other hotels in their category have and most other It's located near a big truck stop and the freeway offramp is just about 50 yards from the back of the hotel. The sound is surprisingly baffled but you will hear the occasional trucker's jake brakes being applied as they approach the off-ramp. There's not much around there except a few other hotels, a gas station, a truck stop with a Denny's attached, and a Mcdonald's. If you want to be in the city, you won't be if you stay here. The staff is really nice, the room was clean, and the bed was comfy. The morning breakfast buffet is also nice as is the room in which it is served. read more

I was visiting Ogden from 60 miles away with my son who was competing in High School rodeo. Although the rooms were like new (fresh renovation) and the staff were courteous. I would not stay here again due to their 'deposit' policy. If you live less than 100 miles away, they require a 500$ deposit for a 1 night stay! A majority of the people staying there last night were from all over Utah, because this property was on the 'preferred' list organized by host rodeo team. I was the only one I know of charged this 'extortion deposit' and I confirmed others who live less than 100$ were only charged a 15$ deposit. I will make sure the host team will remove this property from their list because clearly I was targeted, and the owners should be ashamed of this dubious behavior. I also hope other rodeo and equestrian families who compete at the golden spike event center read this and chose one of the competing properties. I certainly will never stay there again! read more

Holiday Inn is my go to for my hotel needs. The location provided a satisfactory experience. The front desk clerks were awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. I noticed that the rooms were being renovated. I love the changes that they made. The bathroom had a shower stall with doors. This was a welcome improvement over the tub with a curtain. I also liked the fresh coffee in the morning. The breakfast options were excellent. Especially the fresh fruit and yogurt. I will make another trip to Ogden and I will be back at the Holiday Inn. read more

We got in late, no reservation. The woman at the desk was very nice. Did the whole check in thing and headed for the room. The door won't open. Neither card would work. My companion goes back to the desk. He returns with two new keycards. Neither of which work. He goes back. Maintenance guy arrives, gets the door open and decides he needs to change the batteries. He goes to get supplies, after asking to have the keycards left at the desk for us, we go across the paring lot to a restaurant (wish I could recall the name...Best side salad ever!). We picked up the keys, desk people are apologetic and friendly, offering to come with us to make sure the door opens. We declined, pretty sure it would work. It did but it still took about 5 tries. Every time we left the room. I'm not complaining. It was a great room and the staff, night and morning, were helpful and pleasant. I would definitely stay there again if I'm back in Ogden. We stayed here for a couple nights during a weekend family vacation. The location is easy to find right off the freeway, and it only took 5-10 minutes to get into the center of town anytime we wanted. The price was significantly less than the hotel we stayed in last year IN the center of town, so I'm glad this aspect really worked out for us. Check-in was easy and the people at the desk were friendly and helpful. Our 3rd floor room was spacious and clean. We utilized the in-room A/C the whole weekend and it worked like a charm. As to amenities, we all loved the pool--kids and adults alike!--and my only complaint was that you had to exit the pool area for a restroom. Cold, wet and awkward. The breakfast spread each morning was really impressive with tasty options of all sorts: bagels, cold cereal, oatmeal, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. Overall a nice location we would definitely recommend to those visiting Ogden. I am a long time IHG member and have stayed in HI Express hotels all over the Northwest for the past two decades, frequently. I was truly shocked when I saw there was no fridge in my room, as I don't think I've ever run into that before. And the one time I actually brought left overs from the restaurant! The hotel is RIGHT next to the freeway and you can hear everything. I had to run the fan constantly to try and drown out the road noise as best as possible. UPDATE! This room had fleas! I was bitten in the morning and thought that it must have been a mosquito but then one jumped off of me later in the day! I now have to wash all my belongings when I get home. read more

This is one of those really hard reviews where a .5 would be more accurate. I'm staying in this hotel for 10 days, so when I came into the rooms and noticed there was no fridge or microwave I was a bit confused. I called the front desk and they said usually only suites have those amenities but if they had extra they would bring them up. Sure enough, after work I got to my room and Christmas happened! So, the next night I get to my room and got settled for a night of mindless Netflix (100% Hotter, true trash) when I was unable to connect. I called the front desk, she reset the router but 20 minutes later I couldn't connect. I tried all the usual things on my end to no avail. Called the front desk again and she said she would try to figure it out. A few minutes later I got a call from IT confirming there was terrible throughput to my room. Five minutes later, I'm streaming Netflix with no interruption. I'm really pleased with the service I have received at this hotel. The service is enough for me to overlook the terrible coffee, the dated headboards, the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and the dated hardware (brass handles on the bathroom doors. Would I stay here again???? If I had the option of staying in Downtown Ogden, I wouldn't want to stay here. Simply because, well, I'm a snob. Being so far out here makes it inconvenient to walk around and find a shop or restaurant in a leisurely pace. Also, there is no PokémonGo play in this location. I'm hoping I can save another family from the experience of staying here. I booked this because Holiday Inns are usually reliable, this location forever changed my opinion. First I can say the front desk attendants were friendly and professional. I really appreciated how kind they were, this is where the complements end and our nightmare began! The location of this Holiday Inn is horrible. It's literally on the freeway and the freeway noise is never ending, don't count on sleeping! Also, this Holiday Inn is in a very unsafe, high crime area. I didn't feel safe being there, nor would I walk around alone there. We were worried about our truck being broken into all night, which was so unexpected for Ogden, Utah! The pool and spa was disgusting! The ceiling was falling apart, the water had chunks of the buildings material in it from the area being worked on. Everything felt dirty, old and out dated. Our room smelled of pet urine and outside noise made it impossible to sleep. We will absolutely never stay here again. read more

I'm a Spire Elite member but I guess that doesn't mean anything to them. I can only imagine what the pet friendly rooms smell like if they only have a few that they use over and over. I stay in hotels 350 days a year and have never had anyone tell me this, especially not with a support animal. They need to quit false advertising. If you have a pet just go the extra 15 miles down the road and stay in Layton. They are pet friendly and have no pet fees. And as soon as it was decided that we were staying at the Holiday Inn Express I got that song in my head, you know the one... I said hotel, motel, Holiday Inn And if you keep on acting up, I'll just "bleep" your friend We pull in and it looks safe and clean, the Louise to my Thelma went in and got us a room at the hotel, motel, Holiday Inn and in we went exhausted from a full day of driving across Washington, through Oregon, Idaho and into Utah. By the way I hated Idaho, me and Idaho are NOT friends, hate you Idaho and I mean it. We walk in and the curtains were stained and the room smelled a little funny. The bathroom had ants roaming around, the shower curtain was also dirty and the water smelled funny. The bed wasn't that comfortable and I didn't sleep well that night. The towels were thick but rough again I wasn't a fan. Lots of negatives I know. The hotel, motel, Holiday Inn did offer a few free things like breakfast, which for what it was, wasn't bad. Showtime, though we were too tired to watch anything. They also have a small 'gym' on site, an indoor pool, whirlpool, high speed internet, and a business center in case you ever need to stay here for business. Would I pick this hotel, motel, Holiday Inn to vacation at no way, did it serve its purpose for this trip, yes. If you're road tripping and need a place to sleep at a reasonable rate this hotel, motel, Holiday Inn might just work for you. read more

My wife and I recently stayed here for five days. There was some good and some bad. I'd really love to be able to rate this place better, but the Yelp 2 star is "could've been better" and well, that is what the truth is. First the good, the staff was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Not just the desk staff, the morning breakfast attendant was wonderful too. The breakfast was very good. Yes, I realize the each HI Express is the same. But here the coffee was hit hot and had flavor and, the food was hot and the real test: the oatmeal was great. But unfortunately, the rest of the experience was not the same. The room was clean, but it was very dated. This hotel is not cheaper than other hotels we have stayed at in Ogden, so the dated look of the rooms has no excuse. This place need a major upgrade. The bed was very uncomfortable. The air system was very weak and had a limit to how low it could be set to make enough white noise (needed white noise, the reason coming up). On the weekend, when the hotel was full, the shower didn't get hot at all. It was OK during the week when there wasn't competition. Not OK. This hotel is not quiet. Not even close. Thank goodness we didn't face the freeway. We had one neighbor for more than one night that snored, so much that is woke us up in the next room. Then on another night a jerk neighbor ran the TV all night long; the consistent drone was awful. If the air system had worked so the room could cool below 68 or so, I would have been fine freezing. The fan didn't drown any noise out and while the air could be set to 60, it didn't cool that low. This place would be bad news in the summer. Earlier, I stated that I have stayed in several other better hotels in Ogden. I'm not here to advertise them. That's up to them. But I have also stayed at the HI Express in Layton and it is great. Bottom line is that friendly staff only goes so far. The operator of this hotel need to spend some serious capital on upgrades or lower the nightly rates to what you might pay at Motel 6. While that might seem like an extreme statement (it isn't), this experience has made me question any future stay at a HI Express, even thought its the first bad experience that I've had. I just didn't believe before now that the company would let a hotel fall this far. read more

The hotel was very noisy. Slamming doors all night. I also awoke to a lot of neighbors.... Very VERY loudly sharing in adult activities (good for them gettin some). The worst part was driving around their very small parking lot until close to 10pm just to park. They share a parking lot with another hotel and restaurant. We had to wait until the restaurant to close in order to actually park somewhere that wasn't a curb. The cops were giving cars tickets who had chosen to park along curbs. It was a nightmare. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the front staff were pretty nice. But I will be choosing to stay elsewhere if I travel back to this area in future. read more

I stay at HIE / IHG hotels a lot. Probably 50 or more nights a year and at many different locations... This is one does not meet the standard of what I have experienced. Room was just ok but it started when the AC kicked in and made some of the worst vibrations and sounds I've ever heard. What a piece of junk. You would think the staff would be routinely checking the rooms AC and other components. Obviously they do not.. Walls were paper thin and could hear the TV's on either side of me in adjoining rooms. Here's why I like and prefer staying at a Holiday Inn Express: - Nice clean and updated room with all the bells and whistles. - Wi-Fi that worked. - Quiet room (even tho I was a stones throw from a major interstate) - Beautiful mountain scene outside my window (because that's important when I'm sleeping - LOL). - Friendly and accommodating staff - no matter what time of day or night. - Terrific breakfast with food to go thanks to Ada!! The wonderful lady who worked behind the scene to make it all happen. - Ice machine worked!! - USA Today outside my door - FREE. - Easy check out. I had tried to get a room at the HIE in Layton, UT (just down the road) but they didn't take dogs ... so the nice lady there (review left separately) called this HIE to inquire if they had any rooms. Which they did :) and I was on my way!! The only downside to my stay was that the parking lot was full and I was driving a huge 26' truck with an attached car carrier ... so it was difficult to maneuver and find a spot to accommodate. Had I arrived earlier in the evening I suspect it would have been no problem for me ... Everything I expected from the Holiday Inn Express ... and more :) Even my dog Beauregard liked the lobby and dining area :) Compliments to a terrific staff and a very nice modern/clean establishment right off the I-15 in Ogden, UT!! read more

I can't believe that the owner of this hotel would not allow two 20 year old students stay at the hotel because they weren't 21. These young men drove 10 hours to get there so they could rest before driving home to colorado. They were already stressed having never driven that far by themselves before, so being turned down was harsh and disturbing given the coranavirus epidemic. Shame on the owner for being so insensitive. I was a HI Express customer but not anymore, especially in oven it. Let's not support him with so many other hotels nearby. The Marriot courtyard took them gladly. Let's support the hotel who cares. Disappointed parent. read more

We had been headed to Twin falls, ID from Denver, and discovered that I-84 was closed due to several fatality accidents and blowing snow. My wife got us a room here (and the HIE in Twin Falls canceled our room without any penalty!!) Very nice rooms, with a great view of the Wasatch range and no road noise in our room. They had 42" HDTV's, with lots of local channels (but we mainly had it on the Weather Channel for the travel forecast). The only problem we had (and this is common to all hotels) is the noise created when one of the nearby rooms lets their door slam. It's annoying, but not much you can do about bad neighbors. My other pet peeve is when there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Fortunately. the built in ventilation system sucked out the steam from the morning shower in a few minutes without any difficulty. While I was packing everything up, my daughter went down for the hot continental breakfast. The selection she grabbed included prefab cheese omelets, mini-muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt. (We had thought about the Mexican place next door, but decided against it since we had leftover Quizno's.) Overall, I was impressed with the fresh, new decor and how friendly the staff was. Best of all, it was $10- cheaper than the Comfort Inn we stayed at the night before that needed a remodel. Best of all, the HIE had two soft and two firm pillows per a very comfortable mattress. If I go somewhere that I can't take my RV again, I'll keep my eye open for a HI/HIE; they have definitely upped their game. read more

I love that with Holiday Inn Express I am almost always guaranteed an excellent night's stay, it is no different at the one in Ogden. At $110 per night (AAA rate) I was very impressed with the value found at this price-point. The hotel was extremely clean and very modern, the hotel was either just built or recently renovated. I found the bed to be extremely comfortable and loved that I had a choice of pillow firmness (conveniently labelled on the pillow case). I had an excellent night sleep. The free Wi-Fi was fast and the room was extremely spacious. Another thing I appreciated was the friendly check-in hostess who informed me that the spa was open 24 hours (or until they received a noise complaint.) I have never heard of a hotel with such a reasonable policy! Excellent option for weary travelers who check in late and want to relax before bed. Although I didn't have time for the free hot breakfast buffet (Hampton Inn style) the selection did look delicious with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, fruit, cereal, etc. Also, I forgot to mention they have fresh cookies at check-in. My one qualm with this hotel was it is a little hard to get to from the freeway and the direction is not signed particularly well. Overall great experience and will definitely stay there again if passing through Utah and am in need of accommodation. read more

When we arrived, they gave us a little bag with a few doggie treats and a poop bag for outside. They have a nice grassy area right next to the parking lot. The last "dog friendly" place we stayed forgot that dogs need grass to do their business, which left us walking all over the place trying to find some. While we did not have the problems of the 2008 reviewer, everything in the hotel seemed to be broken... elevator, pool, half the ice machines. Room service is the Mexican place attached to the motel next door... don't even read the review... skip it and save yourself indegestion and $$$. The front desk was very slow, but the other guests were VERY friendly... even walking down the hall people stopped us to be sure we knew the pool was broken before we headed all the way there. 2nd worst stop of our 5 night trip. read more

I honestly don't understand why there are good reviews for this place. As a previous reviewer stated, I have also stayed at a number of IHG hotels. I would go as far to say this place is WAY under par for an IHG hotel. I paid 146 dollars for a glorified super 8. The outside looks like it hasn't seen a coat of paint in about 10 years. Terrible hotel! No automatic doors at the entrance, the room was about 80 degrees when I walked in, the 146 dollar room had no refrigerator and no microwave. I called IHG and complained about the room and asked to be booked at another hotel. Instead, they moved me to a room next door that had a small refrigerator and a small microwave(and I mean small). My new room had a toilet that rocked when you sat on it. My suggestion is to drive another hour on the road and skip this awful hotel. read more

I can't thank you guys enough. Special thanks to Nancy. I'm actually staying next door at the Uncomfort (not autocorrect mistake on the previous word) suites. Somehow this two hotels are related but it if wasn't for this hotel my trip wouldn't be as pleasant. I used their gym which I have to say is small but pretty decent. Treadmill works and weights are up to 45. They also have a TV in the gym and was rarely crowed. I also use their washer and dryer since the ones in my hotel didn't work. The staff was always friendly dealing with me and never had an issue (they knew I was staying next door). Also, Nancy's cookies are the bomb. She should charge for those. Everyone who passes by the front desk steal two or three. I was also offered water (as a courtesy) while I waited for my laundry. Next time I hope I can stay at this hotel. Easy to find and good customer service. My hotel room was extremely clean including the bathroom. I love the fact that there were different levels of firmness with the pillows. There is a little bit of noise from the freeway but you're surrounded by some mountains which is nice. I tried to book online and it wouldnt work but i was getting a better rate on the holiday inn express website and they wouldnt match a price. Super nice lady at the counter when we showed up but she couldnt help woth the price. My husband went down and bought water for .50 and then the next day i went with someone different and it was $1. Not all rooms have refrigerators so the 2nd room we got didnt have one. They have full bottles of shampoo and conditioners and the conditioner was out and i didnt find that out until i was in the shower. The breakfast is not very good either. Also the toilet isnt tight to the floor so it wiggles. I have small children so they werent confident sitting on it while it wiggled. It was an okay experience but not for full price. Disappointing experience definitely. read more
