    Great view overlooking the Hudson River. Unfortunately, the elevator is a little beat up an old makes a lot of grinding and bumping noise on the way up and down. The tub does not have the slip proof grips on them when you're in the shower. Not too much pressure in the shower. Plenty of hot water bathrooms pretty large and efficient. Very comfortable bed and pillows large room. breakfast looks good but probably not gonna be able to get to it because it ends at 10 AM and it's already 9:16 AM and we just got out of bed.

    The view!

    Clean, very clean! but for the cloudy pool scene. Friendly, very friendly! And a breakfast with healthy choices and some coffee fresh brewed. And the view; oh the view! we heard so much from other reviews; sadly, though, all we saw from our room was a parking lot with a view of a building named LINDY, without the Lou. Who would've knew?!~}

    Loved my stay here! I was staying for a conference. I had to be at the conference at 3pm and that was the same time as check-in. Rather than check in at 10pm, I called ahead to see if they could let me check in early. Apparently they had 2 weddings that weekend and were super busy and told me I could come in, but that they couldn't guarantee anything. Well, I showed up at 2:35, I was checked in by 2:45, and made it to the conference with one minute to spare. It was meant to be -- and room #418 - my birthday! The room was immaculate, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the shower was lovely. There isn't much around the hotel, so the view was of the parking lot and another building, but that's okay. There is a pool, which I didn't use, and there was also breakfast, which I did not have, although it looked good! The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.

    Look at that pretty view, that was a nice plus.. John at the front desk was super sweet and helpful (these are the kind of employees a chain hotel dreams about..keep him)! Room was clean, spacious had extra bedding for pull out bed, put we were happily surprised that it was already made up for us..never feel like making the pull out bed when you check in late..it was just an overnight to visit The Blaze but we enjoyed the clean pool and hot breakfast as well..K Cups in room and in lobby is great! Did I mention everything was super clean? This is VERY important to me and they nail it! Only thing I can say bad is the walls are thin, bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

    beautiful clean room, great location and breakfast included! they even have a pancake machine!

    Great views and beautifully appointed rooms. Continental breakfast a plus. Eggs, pancakes, oatmeal and assorted pastries. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Located across the street is the new Greenway walkway. Just a few minutes away is a Key Foods, McDonalds and a diner. Conveniently located minutes from bear mountain.

    King Room.

    BRAND NEW, at least feels like it! The room itself is gorgeous. (I am in my second night here and I like it that much!) The only reason I can't give it a perfect 5 is the area. Yeah admittedly, not much close by. Although see my other reviews from this week for Sushi, GREAT sushi nearby! (7 miles) Rooms are nicely lit, have GREAT USB and extra plugs all over the room. you won't run out unless you carry 36 devices with you. :) pull-out desk area, contemporary bathroom, a free HOT breakfast with usual fare; cheese omelettes, sausage, bacon, milks, juices, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. Unless you are uber-picky, you'll be fine eating breakfast here with or without the family. The rooms themselves, I had a King bed room, are VERY spacious. Nicely decorated and colored, with a nice seating area with a couch and desk area I mentioned earlier. Nice WIDE shower head for the shower, Bath and Body Works soaps and shampoos, nice stuff. If you need a place to stay that is 30 or so miles from NYC, or if you're on the East side of the Hudson for a wine tour or in the area for work, check this one out. Not a bad choice!

    I love that there's a plug on all the lamps. My kids and I always fight for a plug in other hotels we stay at. There is a pool as well.

    It was fine. The floor was gross though, so I do not recommend having more than 4 people in a room.

This place can be hosted with a number of events of your choice, private party, drama set, you name it, it will happen and be taken care of by the facility. On my first visit, I wasn't expecting it to look so eye appealing, but stepping in sure answered that question. The room is fairly large with plenty of seating and also a balcony with tables along with a bar - pretty cool if you ask me. With it being very crowded, there are two stair wells to move foot traffic along quickly. I like the decorations all around the room, especially the disco balls that were hanging (a big fan of disco, no joke). It's awesome just taking it all in. The room looked very clean for our event, and I highly recommend booking them for any event if your choice. *Parking is provided on the street and also a parking area just east of this building. Also, the Dramatic Hall is located on the 3rd level via elevator or stairs.*

First off, I have to say this, I've never seen anything like the Dramatic Hall. It sure lives up to its name. Seriously so much drama and it surely is a photographers playground. It was the perfect atmosphere for a Sunday wedding. Can't say enough how much I enjoyed photographing a wedding here. Everything was so royal and "extra" without being too over the top. The lightning truly was my favorite as well as all the industrial/modern feels. Love the disco balls that hang elegantly as well as the two stairs that wrap around. It's such a fun, different space for any occasion but especially for a wedding. Parking's not the best but they have street parking available nearby. Sunday's it's free so that's a plus. If you're looking for a different kind of venue this is your spot. You will love all the drama and fun it has!

This might be just the taste, but nobody at our table liked them. Also - and this seems to be the specialty of the house - they were not particularly warm. We also ordered the nachos with the brisket chili. The plate was huge and the nachos were pretty good. Unfortunately, the chili was largely a rumor. Now for dinner. Oh boy. First the staff, including our waitress, brought us food for another table. We didn't realize it right away, because the other table ordered a couple of items we did. Then we did get our food. We had a couple of the brisket grilled cheeses. These were tasty, but again, with precious little meat in them, and not hot. We had a smash burger order - COLD. Two mushroom truffle burgers - also cold and one was severely undercooked. We were going to a show so we suffered with it. The fries were a hit by the way. I ordered the salt caramel gelato. I've had similar many times. This was overly salty. I was very excited to go here, but unfortunately, quality flew the coop at Birdsall.

Food is good, but lacks that "wow" feeling you get from 5 star cuisine. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and tender, but needs more herb spice like fresh rosemary and thyme. The fresh bucatini pasta with clams was a highlight dish, but the portion was small for one adult. Accompanied by top notch fried polenta rolls - delicious. The Peking Duck was tender but a bit fatty and didn't have that super crispy skin you associate with this Chinese delicacy. Nice spicy sauce. The Cesar salad was classically prepared and the mussels were tender but some were gritty. Very nice experience, but some entrees need a little tweaking.
