We would stay at this motel again. It was the only hotel with outside entrances that we stayed at during a long road trip. Our room was clean. It looked like the motel had recently undergone some renovations. The sink was outside the bathroom area. The bathroom was a little on the small size. The refrigerator was nice sized. The main downside on the room was that the bed was on some kind of metal frame that echoed loudly when touched. The bed itself was comfortable. The staff was nice and directed us to the parts of town with restaurants. There is no breakfast, but the front desk has coffee, tea, oatmeal, popcorn and Honeybuns for the guest. read more

During a once in a lifetime storm that hit Highland Falls in Aug we had 2 rooms booked the night before R-Day at USMAPS. Unable to get to the town due to the flooding it took numerous phone calls with the hotel to get them to agree on a 2 room credit. This was not an easy task, despite the town being flooded and all roads blocked they said sorry we are open and it's our policy when you cancel day of not to reimburse. So we agreed to take the two room credit. Our first credit was able to be used. It took two phone calls to arrange but nevertheless they agreed to honor one credit. When I attempted to use the next credit they said it was lost. All room credits need to be used in same year (2023). So they received $180 we couldn't use originally because a flooding disaster and provided no service in return. This is a case of a business who knows despite what they do it won't matter because of the proximity to a University/tourist attraction like West Point. They don't care about customer service, or updating the hotel etc, they will get the tourists and the families who visit students money regardless. Throughout my communication they have been rude and spoke with a tone that was not professional. Again they can do this because they know all rooms will continue to be booked. So I know this review won't have an impact on the hotel but I firmly believe you get what you give. Great stay here! Awesome location near bear mountain and Woodbury commons, and a great Mexican restaurant across the street. Hotel was super clean, spacious, and quiet. I would definitely stay again! This is a very nice little family-run "old-school" motel. The rooms are clean and the service is very good. While there has been a pretty extensive facelift & room renovation, it still retains that old roadside-motel charm that is mostly lost today. Some of the small details of yesteryear are still in place if you look closely - ie bottle openers attached to the counter and hangers that cannot be removed - not to mention front windows that actually open. There are chairs in front of every unit that make for a nice "porch-sitting" community in the evenings - especially on West Point game weekends. Noise was very minimal and overall it's a very pleasant & relaxing experience staying here. read more

Being super generous here with the stars I haven't been here in 14 years since my husband was a cadet I don't think they changed the comforters since. There wasn't even plastic bags in the plastic garbage pails. The bathrooms were updated and the accents in the room and furniture are nice But man, if they just replaced the top comforters the room would appear much nicer. They kill the first impression They tried though. Whomever owns this should invest in some new top comforters. Parking is fine. There's a lot of restaurants nearby and a Rite Aid a 1/4 mile away. Not bad. But it's not the Four Seasons. read more

I had mixed feelings about staying at this place. Stayed here for my boyfriend's 100th night event because it was located close by. Price was great and I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms and service! While it is not the Thayer Hotel, it is a cozy, clean, and quiet place. It was alright! Bathroom door did not shut all the way and the shower was a bit wacky. It was within walking distance from West Point! Offered a late checkout extension as well! The beds were decently comfortable and they had a little breakfast bar in the morning. read more

I would like to warn everyone current or future who decides to use the West Point Motel as lodging for events at West Point to think very carefully about giving them your business unless you are absolutely sure you will NOT need to cancel your prepaid reservation two months before the event. The COVID 19 outbreak, New York (or other states) travel restrictions, or the still unknown status of parents or guests ability to attend the 2020 graduation are not any factors they will consider in refunding paid in full reservations shy of their two month deadline. Additionally if you do have a prepaid reservation with them and wish to release to another mom (often done for big events) you have to buy that reservation from the original holder, generally someone you've never met. Any refunds that would be issued only go to the original holder that you bought it from. A little background so you know the issues. In order to cancel and receive a full refund for the original May 20-23 reservation I would have had to cancel by March 20. New York did not issue their first shelter in place order for two weeks until March 23. Cadets projected to return on March 29. Graduation still set for May 23. After that the entire nation enters into a period of uncertainty over COVID19 with state lockdowns and vast uncertainty about Graduation even happening. Today April 19 I received a call from the West Point Motel telling me they would honor my reservation for June 11-13. When I asked about canceling the June reservation I was informed that it was too late for a refund and should have done it in March 20th. I have been attempting to cancel this reservation for two weeks due to my father being 81 and unable to travel during this out break. The management has told me this is my problem not theirs. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

2 stars really is fair for this place. It's decent. It's livable. It's fair priced. But a vacation spot, it is not. Outdated motel, use your imagination. If you like to sleep without feeling like the folks on the floor above you aren't going to fall through the ceiling with each step, make sure you're on the top floor or have a strong sedative. It's an alright stay but I feel like they boost themselves more than they amount to. The TVs are nice, but the wifi is real bad, room cleaning only comes by at 8 (if you're not out by then they just Don't clean the room), and the "continental breakfast" is just a bagel with coffee. We stayed here for a wedding at West Point because the Thayer Hotel was too expensive for us and everywhere else close by was booked solid. It is very pricey for a motel. We paid $407.70 for two nights which I think was not worth the money. I wish we had paid the extra money to stay at the Thayer. The towels were old and crunchy feeling. The rooms are big and renovated, but nothing special. The mattress was ok, but not great. It was hot when we got into the room because the AC was turned off. The breakfast is just bagels and prepackaged muffins. We got breakfast in town both mornings. The parking lot is annoyingly small. We arrived very late on a Friday and it was completely full and we parked in the very back behind the motel by the dumpster and the woods in a no parking area because there was literally no where else to park, so that was fun trying to get in and out of there. They really need to add more parking or redo their parking lot. The front office people were kind of strange. We got in at 1:50am and the guy told us "we've been waiting for you all night". Not sure what he meant by that. I booked my room over the phone and the guy recorded my card's expiration date incorrectly and called me back to tell my card was declined. When I inquired why, he said it was probably because I had insufficient funds in my bank account. I then asked him what he recorded for my info and he realized he was wrong. I thought his comment was very rude. The motel is in a convenient location, but I don't think it's worth the money considering what you can get at an actual hotel for that price. read more
