we arrived and was greeted by friendly staff . The campground was kept very clean the restrooms were big and kept clean also . there was a decent amount of shade trees throughout the campground . there was a nice pool and playground volleyball and basket ball courts along with corn hole and a big jump pad . the general store onsite carried a good selection of items along with a really good pizza you could have delivered to your camp site. Second time that we made an overnight stop in this RV park. Check in was easy and we got great help to position our rig. We even ordered wings and wedge potatoes from the kitchen and were not disappointed, the food was delicious. Camp is clean and well maintained by friendly staff. Check in was great! Friendly staff, easy check in and set up. Saturday we attend our functions and get back to the campground around midnight. We found that our camper had no running water nor did the entire campground. We called and texted the after hours number at the campstore with no answer or response. We did however receive a response, via text only around 8:30am that morning. No water for 8+ hours is unacceptable, no response to the posted after hours is unreasonable and frankly, bad business on KCNs part. You have on site staff and no one can be bothered to be "on call" for emergencies? Running water is a basic need and while we totally understand emergencies happening, having to wait to find when you will have water so you can shower, flush your toilet, brush your teeth or have a drink of water is very discouraging and frustrating. read more

We stayed overnight at Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA Holiday Wifi worked great for us, I was able to shut off my cellular data and just use wifi (streaming prime video) while Zayne watched Netflix on our TV We got here just before sunset so we didn't use any of the amenities However, we saw a bounce pad and a nice playground on our way in. Absolutely meticulously kept campground in the countryside. Staff is very professional, nice and literally everywhere. It's a Holiday KOA so they have lots of stuff for kids to do, a pool, and 2 doggie parks. They also have brand new bathrooms with lots of hot water too. It's definitely one of the nicer KOA's we've been too. Be advised, it's a nice campground because they have rules about age of campers, appearance, etc. Make sure you ask when booking. read more

There is only one other KOA that exceeds the cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep that Sweetwater does. (The other is Sugarloaf KOA, which is all refurbed and new). The one thing Sugarloaf does not have is the friendly staff of Sweetwater! These folks accommodate your every need with cheerfulness and delight! We stopped here overnight on way to Florida. This is a very nice campground. Well kept grounds. Management was awesome. We even received a welcome text day of arriving. The bathhouse is exceptionally clean and updated. The campground has a nice pool ( wasn't open yet) 2 dog play areas and kiddie play area as well. They offer fresh baked pizza and other food items in the camp store and we thoroughly enjoyed and was delivered to our campsite too. I would highly recommend this KOA to anyone traveling this area. read more

We have been coming to this campgrounds over 4 years now. We will not return. We had booked for september 6 through september 8. We booked months advance, had a freind not able to make it and cancelled their site and we took there site. So we thought. We had been out in a smaller site that neither one of us had booked. We picked our sites in advance. They did charge me 8 dollars more for a rate change, and said they could not find out why and refunded me the 8 dollars. The site we had was so small that my rig barely fit. Also there was no events. We have been coming here 2-3 times a year for the events and not having jake running the events was sad. Kids are crying cause jake is no longer there. You never saw any staff unless you went in the store. I did see on guy fixing a site with a tractor all day on saturday. That was very rude. The camp ground seems to be all about money and not family events. We miss the games that use to go on candy bar bingo, pancake breakfast, and the silent auction. They were always rasing money for care camps and now nothing. Like a overpriced statepark. If you like no events than the place is good. Not for those that like to have fun. When we booked there was so much planned that no longer happend. Wasted so much money. It seems like they cut alot of staff and not welcoming at all. They dont even wave and say hi has they drive by. They all seem like if they do or say anything that they will loose their job, they are working with fear and was not a welcome factor. read more

This incredible KOA is absolutely beautiful with tons of amenities and great sites! Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help when needed. The grounds, bathrooms (very large) , and laundry facilities are meticulously kept. Very clean park. Amenities include: 2 fenced dog parks, pool w table and chairs, kids playground w equipment, sandbox area, bounce mat, sand volleyball court, basketball court, game room, coin operated laundry facilities, etc. Food is available on site in the office (pizza, wings, breakfast, ice cream, etc.). They also have small and large family cabins for rent. It is easily accessible from hwy 75 and is located almost midway between Knoxville and Chattanooga. Both paved and gravel sites. All level. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area! It is by far the best KOA we have ever stayed at!!! Watch for the turn onto Murray's Chapel Rd as it sneaks up on you on the left side. It is just passed the 'Brew and Chew' minimart. The turn is marked with a KOA sign but it appears quickly so I would recommend slowing down a lot once you see the 'Brew and Chew'. When you get to the Y in the road on Murray's Chapel Rd, stay left. You cannot see the traffic coming from the right unless you use the large mirror that is attached to the tree in front of you. read more

Arrived late and were happily surprised with a paved level pull through full hookup. The place was quiet through the night. This is a great place for families! We stayed for 2 nights in early October. They have what they call Halloweekend starting on about October 7th and the following weekend. It's great for kids. We don't have kids and we were unaware of the big celebration of Halloween so early in October (we're from California where Halloween is on October 31st). We were unable to get a campsite with full hookups because most of the campsites are booked very far in advance for the October 7th Halloween weekend celebration. The staff are not just friendly but very concerned about your comfort and that you have everything you need to feel safe and relaxed. For me, this would be a 5 star campground except for one issue. We needed to do laundry. My wife took our laundry into the laundry room and got ready to put our clothes into the washing machines (two available) but had trouble getting the detergent container open. She came outside and asked me to help. I opened the container but when she went back in, the two available washing machines were taken. She asked the woman in the room if she had taken all of the machines. The reply was "Yes M'am." Turns out she was an employee of the campground and she had numerous loads of laundry stacked up so that she would commandeer all of the machines for a long time. As an employee, she didn't seem to understand that we were paying customers and she was a PAID employee. That employee was rude and disrespectful to my wife. Not something I can tolerate. Otherwise, we had a great experience. read more

The site is very beautiful and well maintained. Amenities are nice and convenient. The beat part of this campground is the staff. We were tent camping, on the first night AFTER MIDNIGHT a severe thunderstorm rolled in with winds up to 50 mph. As we were regrouping a member of the staff rolled up in a golf cart to check on us and see if we needed anything . He offered to open the laundry room so we could dry some of our stuff and ride out the storm. He waited with us as our stuffed dried then he said that the storm was not letting up and offered to get us a key to a cabin that was available. The next morning back at the camp site 3 different staff members stopped by to check on . I would give them 8 if I could. Top notch and great people read more

Recently stayed at the Sweetwater KOA during a cross country road trip. Loved the back country location of this campground! Found this gem in our Good Sam book and it was easy to find right off the interstate. Friendly staff at checkin and had help getting to and in to the assigned space. The pull thru sites were a tight fit for our travel trailer and vehicle. Showers were nice, small store on site, and many activities for kids. Great park with many trees and shady spaces. Definitely would stay here again when in the area! read more

This was our second stay at this campground. We had an electrical problem with our rv. Tim arrived after the park had closed at 8 pm and worked on the issue for an hour. This goes beyond what is expected. Tim and Kathy Allen are great hosts and really take care of their campers. They are an asset to KOA and reflect the highest standards of their campground. They really treat everyone like their extended family. We like it here so much that our next visit will be as monthly campers. read more

Stayed a few times; however the business could be managed better for the guest. They have excellent service at checking in and out but other times it's okay. They could do better at guiding people to their spots and backing. RV sites are not leveled. Would stay again. read more
