    Free breakfast!

The rooms were clean and spacious. There are adjoining rooms available but the Wednesday night that we checked in here at 11pm without a prior reservation they did not have any available. One of the employees tracked down and brought a cot up for us. The breakfast is served from 6-10 in a separate room by the lobby. Plenty of tables to sit at and a pretty good selection for a free breakfast. If I come through this way again I will definitely stay here!

My friend and I stayed at the hotel for the Labor Day weekend. First off I would say they have complimentary cookies, lol they were so good. They have free breakfast, a business center, pool and vending/ice machines. They stay here was amazing. The room and hotel was very nice and clean. The staff here were very friendly as well.

IHG (Inter-Continental Hotels Group), you've done it again. Unable to obtain a vacant room in the Hollywood Casino and after burning rubber trying to make a dash from the Towne House Motor Lodge (http://www.yelp.com/biz/towne-house-motor-lodge-charles-town#hrid:MA4GlZSBIzhPMu4XFhNmDg) I whipped out my handy dandy Yelp app to locate somewhere to stay. Thank goodness this place was nearby (a three minute drive from the casino to be exact)! Amber & Lindsey were manning the desk when we arrived and both of these young ladies were "a pocket fulla, pocket fulla sun-shine." They made check-in seamless and after informing them of my Priority Rewards Group membership I was given a "goodie bag" to take with me to my room. I was a little dismayed because there wasn't a complimentary chocolate chip cookie display for my greedy gut to take advantage of but the bag had a bottle of water, Rold Gold pretzel pack, and some Oreo's to briefly satisfy a snack craving. Rooms were clean and the toilets even had a band on it that said it was sanitized for customer convenience. Not sure how believable that is because anyone can wipe some pine-sol on a seat and try and call it sanitized but, it was a nice touch nonetheless. The flat screen was small (I think it was a 28"), but it was of high quality. The beds were comfortable and also supplied your choice of 2 soft and 2 firm pillows per bed. We slept through the complimentary breakfast but the dining area appeared to have the same setup as other Holiday Inn Express hotels. I took one star off mainly because the supposed "body" towels were a little on the small and scratchy side but the absence of the cookies were a contributor as well *teardrop.* If I'm back in the area and can't get a room in the casino, I will definitely come back here. My friend paid $170 for the night which I don't think is bad considering that the golf tour going on that weekend sold out all the casino rooms and instantly made hotels in the immediate vicinity a hot commodity.

Great music! Excellent whiskies and beers. Ambiance like a really nice barn :-)…read more We wanted a Memorial Day (2025) daytrip from greater-Baltimore. Harper's Ferry is very close! Like an hour (ish) drive. So what's happening in HP? The Barn out Washington St. had a MemorialDay weekend all-day mostly-country music event 2pm to 10:30pm! Very nice. They have a great little bar inside, and sometimes have food from one of the restaurants across the parking lot, or just walk over for takeout, or i think i read that they deliver here. By the way, parking can get a little tight for a bigger event like this one, but we were early enough, maybe 1pm, and we scored a space when someone left. I might as well add that there's several clean restrooms sort of across from the bar. We settled into a huge comfy couch near the back of the hall, behind the seating for roughly 30 at tables and picnic tables. There was also seating for roughly 20 at tables out on a deck. The first solo singer-guitarist, D.C.'s Kate Smiles, had a lovely voice and sweetly original interpretations of rock and pop and country songs that i knew, and a presence that made me say, Hey, Wow, I can relax in this mellow mood with a really nice whiskey from a list that my local bar would envy. By the way, they were out of the local whiskey, Devil's Due, so i had a warming fiery oaky slightly-sweet Elijah Craig bourbon, neat, with a water back. Mmmmm. The second musician, W.V.'s Andrew Copenhaver, moved among soulful blues and country, some classics, some modern. He could put an edge on his voice, and he could hit some deep bass notes, so it was a real pleasure when he gave us Folsom Prison Blues. When you can hit that low note, you have a right to do some Johnny Cash. By now i was into some crisp local beers. That little bar really has everything, including a versatile bartender who made every drink we knew, and we sampled his skills as the third musician, NoVA's Mark Cullinane, took the stage. He had a wide range of country songs, including a moving original that made us feel we were driving in our pickup behind his dad's. He had a great rich tone and great range. Like the second musician, he used some kind of looper to create full layers of harmony. What with all the beverages, we started to fade a little as the music moved into the set by NoVA's seriously-country Rowdy Ace Band around 8pm. They really lit up the hall and the patio and probably a good piece of nearby Harpers Ferry. We eventually moved on to our reservations for dinner across the parking lot at Snallygaster's restaurant. But that's another story. We had a terrific afternoon and evening. The Barn will definitely be one of our go-to spots in this town, and we'll be looking to hear these musicians again!

I would recommend even just coming for a spa service! The buildings and grounds are well kept and romantic. We enjoyed seeing a horse back riding lesson next door while walking around. If we had more time, we would have enjoyed playing a game of chess with the large lawn pieces or smores around the fire pit. We stayed in the lookout room and found it charming and clean. The charcuterie in the mini fridge was a really nice touch. The dining rooms are beautifully decorated and a warm, romantic atmosphere. Our dinner server Jessi was very accomodating and friendly. The food was deliciously made and presented. We enjoyed the little extras that weren't listed on the menu like the tapenade "amuse bouche" and ginger ice palate cleanser. However, I am only giving four stars because I was disappointed by the vegetarian dinner entree option. A cauliflower steak offers no protein value and I left still hungry. This wouldn't bother me if the price were half as much. It seems like it would have been easy to offer a lentil and/or chickpea stew with the same tikka masala sauce the cauliflower was served in - still vegan/vegetarian and much more filling. Or a pasta, tofu, tempeh... so many other options that could have better justified the price to me. At least breakfast was incredible and filling with the eggs. Overall a lovely stay but for dinner I would recommend that vegans/ vegetarians consider whether the price is worth it!

We talked multiple times leading up to our visit, he asked me for everything that I wanted and he made it happen seamlessly! We couldn't arrive until 7:30 on Friday so he set us up for a late check-in where we just walked into our house and our door was unlocked. He made reservations for us at the Main House for breakfast, made us reservations at the Spa House, and even "acted" as a bystander during the proposal. He organized for a photographer to be there for the moment, and we were able to get a ton of photos after inside the house and outside! I really appreciated the fact that Hillbrook used a lot of local businesses. We had a charcuterie board in our room when we arrived and almost all of the meats and cheeses were local. The breakfast menu had a section that informed you on where the foods were grown/raised. The coffee was from a shop down on Main Street which we even stopped at before we got on the road to come home! I'm very glad with my decision to choose the Hillbrook Inn as where we got engaged. She loved it and said everything was perfect! We'll definitely be back in the future. Charles Town was beautiful.

Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!
