    Seating and table on balcony
    Dave M.

Arriving late generally eliminates the line to check in. Such was the case this evening. So, I was registered and assigned a room rather rapidly. Fun little room on the end of the hotel. There is a balcony with a couple chairs. Not much of a view. Next building is being renovated, it appears. Siding is being replaced. Room is cozy, clean and decorated with a minimalist flair. But at least there are two examples of art on the walls. I won't be here long. Breakfast at 6:30am and out the door. Hopefully done in one day and back home tomorrow.

    Nice breakfast!

Very pleasant overnight with my dog at this hotel. The double queen room was very clean and roomy, even had a balcony. Breakfast was great with a wide selection and tasty offerings. There is a little park area behind the hotel that is for dogs. Very convenient for poop walks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only issue is that it is right next to freeway, so ask for a room on the back side.

Have always thought of Holiday Inn as being kind of "meh". And being so close to the freeway, thought this would be a problem. I was wrong. We were greeted at the entrance with freshly popped popcorn, warm cookies, and cucumber infused water. With the new renovations, the hotel even had that new carpet smell to it. The room itself, spacious and had access to a balcony on the 2nd floor overlooking the fall foliage. (Despite a comfy and rather welcoming bed, it was still a little difficult getting to sleep). There is a beautifully lit outdoor seating area and easy access to shops and restaurants nearby. The breakfast (which contrast to the listing actually started at 7) consisted of mini egg white veggie omelets, sausage, cinnabon, yogurt, pumpkin spice coffee, and pancakes. Very impressed and left happy and full. (Update: forgot to mention that there were a few washcloths with makeup stains on them, but no problem with ppl plenty of towels available)

Needed a place to stay for the night that was pet friendly on our way to Montana and we found this hotel to be the right fit. It was clean, beds were comfortable, staff were friendly and accommodating and lots of parking. The best part was having a walkout to the parking lot and grassy area for our two little dogs to take care of their business. Conveniently located off the freeway, but far enough not to hear the noise. Short drive to gas station and restaurants. Hot breakfast was included with the rate which was nice. Loved those cinnamon rolls!

We did one day and it was OK, the coffee was pretty good. I would've worked out a little bit, but they didn't have any 3 pound weights. And some of the things I do, 5 pounds are just too heavy. I'm sure we'll be back again as my daughter lives in Coeur d'Alene. Also was centrally located you could walk across the street to the movies which we did, nice restaurants a few little shops. Personally, I would prefer to go into town and get some better quality breakfast and coffee, however, that is just me. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. My only gripe was listening to a baby scream in the early hours of the morning and the parents being LAF without a care in the world for anyone else. I can't ding the hotel for that, however, it did sour the experience. For what it is, I feel the cost is high, however, I fully realize it's peak season in the area so it is what it is. The location is convenient though and you can walk to restaurants, movie theater right across the street, however, it literally is just a 5 min drive into the main town and to the lake. Plenty of parking though if you get back later at night you may have some trouble finding a spot if the hotel is busy.

I woke up after our first night with numerous unexplained bites across my leg that were not there previously. We immediately photographed them and brought the issue to hotel management. To management's credit, they took the concern seriously enough to have us check out, leave the room completely untouched, and schedule Ecolab Pest Control to professionally inspect the room for bed bugs, fleas, and other possible pests. However, despite us vacating the hotel entirely after one night because we were not comfortable keeping our family in the room, management has told us that they will not refund the 52,000 Marriott Bonvoy points used for that night unless Ecolab subsequently finds evidence of bugs. That's where I strongly disagree with how this has been handled. We aren't claiming to know definitively what caused the bites--that's precisely why a professional inspection is being conducted. But we woke up with a documented issue, immediately reported it, and made the decision to leave rather than expose our family to another night of a potential pest problem. I don't believe a guest should have to prove which insect caused visible bites before a hotel appropriately remedies an experience serious enough that the room itself is being preserved for a professional pest inspection. We are longtime and loyal Marriott customers and expected a much more guest-focused resolution. I will update this review when Ecolab completes its inspection and when Marriott makes its final determination regarding our refund.

The hotel is really large, they have good sized rooms, as well as suites and suite-ettes. There's also a pool, and a fitness center. I did use the fitness center while I was here and the equipment that they have is really nice and plenty enough to get you a good workout. The staff was also super friendly, professional, and helpful. So what brings this location down to four stars? The parking lot. The parking lot is really small, especially for how large the hotel is. They do have overflow parking a few parking lots over, but that was also full One of the nights that I stayed here. They have a side parking lot, but that is shared with McDonald's, and you can't park in the majority of the spaces in that parking lot as a hotel guest. This meant that I ended up parking on the street one of the nights that I was here. Which is annoying especially when you paid for a hotel room, you think you've also paid for a place to park your car. Overall, I would stay here again. But beware the parking lot.

Everything went smoothly until the morning, when we left him in the room briefly to have breakfast. Since it was our first experience, we did not know he would react by barking continuously. About ten minutes later, the front desk attendant, Joe, came into the breakfast room to inform us that other guests had complained about the noise. I immediately left to return to the room and calm Jasper. I apologized for the situation and fully understand how disruptive barking can be. I would also be bothered if I were on the other side of the situation. My concern is not about the complaint itself, but about how the situation was handled. The attendant asked for our room number and then announced the issue loudly in front of all the guests who were having breakfast. She stated that she had received complaints, that we needed to go to the room immediately, and that the incident would be added to our record. This left us feeling embarrassed, as if we were repeat offenders, even though we stayed only one night and this was our very first hotel experience with a pet. While I sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience caused by Jasper's barking, I kindly ask that your staff be encouraged to handle sensitive situations with more discretion and care. A more private approach would have avoided unnecessary embarrassment.
