We left after one night of a two-night stay due to a serious concern about possible insect exposure in our room. I woke up after our first night with numerous unexplained bites across my leg that were not there previously. We immediately photographed them and brought the issue to hotel management. To management's credit, they took the concern seriously enough to have us check out, leave the room completely untouched, and schedule Ecolab Pest Control to professionally inspect the room for bed bugs, fleas, and other possible pests. However, despite us vacating the hotel entirely after one night because we were not comfortable keeping our family in the room, management has told us that they will not refund the 52,000 Marriott Bonvoy points used for that night unless Ecolab subsequently finds evidence of bugs. That's where I strongly disagree with how this has been handled. We aren't claiming to know definitively what caused the bites--that's precisely why a professional inspection is being conducted. But we woke up with a documented issue, immediately reported it, and made the decision to leave rather than expose our family to another night of a potential pest problem. I don't believe a guest should have to prove which insect caused visible bites before a hotel appropriately remedies an experience serious enough that the room itself is being preserved for a professional pest inspection. We are longtime and loyal Marriott customers and expected a much more guest-focused resolution. I will update this review when Ecolab completes its inspection and when Marriott makes its final determination regarding our refund. read more

This hotel was great. From being able to check in early, to the room, and all its amenities. From having a microwave, to free breakfast, all day coffee, putt putt area, pools, dog area/ cute dog trail, and it's parking. We have no issues with the room, or any staff. This hotel is beautiful. We drove up from Moscow, ID and arrived early (12:30 pm), but we knew check in wasn't until 3:00. We figured we would stop in and ask if they would be able to store our luggage for us until check in so we could go sightsee downtown. The front desk clerk was super friendly and kind. She said we could go ahead and check in. We were really happy because we were all tired and wanted to lie down for a few minutes before sightseeing. My son pulled down the covers of his bed and to his shock, the sheets were covered with hairs and there was a big blood stain on the underside of the top sheet. I immediately went out into the hallway and found a housekeeper across the hall. I told her what we found. She came over and looked and said that our room hadn't been cleaned that day because no one had been in it the night before. She pulled off the bedding and replaced it all with new bedding, which we really appreciated- especially since we had pulled her away from what she was working on. I wish I had gotten her name. She was a really sweet Native American woman on the 3rd floor. Our room had been made up by a man, but I don't remember his name. The room didn't have a safe, which I really like in a room because I like to lock up my valuables when I leave. The room was really spacious, with a walk in closet, a small sofa, a desk, and a small bar area with a fridge. The bathroom was really large, bright, clean, and roomy, but I hate the design of having a glass door that opens into the middle of the room. Because of that door, the tv is placed way over to the side of the beds and the person in the bed near the window can hardly see it. Also, when someone is in the bathroom and the lights are off in the bedroom, the light from the bathroom shines through the glass door so brightly it is like a spotlight illuminating the whole room. My husband got up super early to shower and I couldn't sleep once he went in the bathroom because the lights shining at the bed was soooo bright. Miserable. The breakfast was pretty good - standard hotel breakfast. The eggs were better than the hotel we had stayed at the night before. We liked the happy hour with free beer, wine, soda, and chips. That was a nice perk. I thought that overall the hotel was clean and updated. The employees are friendly and helpful. I was just not a fan of the super bright bathroom door/light that made it impossible to sleep. read more

Let me start out by saying this - we travel A LOT and I have never in my life given a hotel such a positive review. Let's start with the staff. The nicest people I have ever encountered in a hotel - I have stayed at 5 diamond resorts with butler service and never experienced such nice people. I was there for a medical reason and as odd as it sounds, my doctor asked to have the staff change my sheets and pillow cases. He just wanted everything fresh after medical - (It wasn't a weird skin thing so don't get grossed out) The housekeeping staff had left for the day and the gal at the front desk asked me if she could change the bedding for me since they had gone. I said "absolutely not, I can change sheets" They handed me all new ones. The staff was incredibly encouraging as I guess a lot of patients of this particular doctors stays there. When I say everyone is friendly, even the guy picking up garbage in the parking lot made sure to say hello as we were leaving. Just a good group of people. Rooms are updated, the bathrooms are huge, the closet could sleep a grown adult (I wouldn't but #truestory) Very clean and the beds were comfy. My only room complaint is that when your neighbors are fighting, you can hear everything. Hubby had to knock on their door at 530am There is constant coffee and tea available in the lobby and they serve a full breakfast. The grounds were lovely and be sure to check out Big Foot in the back. It's located within a minute of restaurants, an outdoor mall and movie theatre (which is not open because of Covid - which made no sense as the whole town is open) We had absolutely no stress on this trip. I rebooked before we checked out for our recheck. There a ton of hotels in the area and some even closer to the water but this was such a pleasant experience. read more

We stayed at the hotel next door on our way to Montana and decided to try this hotel on our drive back. Room was very spacious with a separate area with sofa and desk, wet bar, large bathroom and walk-in closet. Definitely a hotel for long stays. We only stayed the night with our two little dogs. The hotel is clean and staff were friendly and welcoming. Hot breakfast and manager's reception are included in the rate which was nice. The hotel is pet friendly with an area dedicated for dogs to do their business across the parking lot. Pet owners are placed on the ground floor with easy access to the "potty" area. read more

There is really nothing bad to say about it. Great outdoor seating area nice gym, very attentive staff I had two minor issues and both were resolved very quickly and I had two maintenance issues that I just told them about to recommend that they fix them once we leave which they wrote up orders for while I was standing there. Swimming area was very nice, and even though it was right near interstate, sitting outside was not a problem and conversing with people was not a problem while sitting there the fire pits outside were very nice as you could control them. The room was a typical suite, nothing outstanding, but between the service the ambience of the outdoor area, the amazing breakfast selections and the pool with gym area I would strongly recommend this as a place to stay read more

Even though this property is seven years old now, to me it still feels sparkling new. We stayed here in 2015, and it's exactly as it was then. Great location to get anywhere in Cd'A, and a very quiet area with lots of parking. I really like the layout of the rooms. While the sleeping area is not overly spacious, having a large bathroom, huge walk-in closet, and an actual sitting area with a nice office space desk makes up for it, nicely. And this was the standard two-queen room, so I imagine the king suites are even nicer. As other Yelpers have mentioned, the staff here are all very friendly and all masked-up for the faux pandemic. Nice to have a hot breakfast, as well. They have that totally figured out, with a kitchen staff member serving hungry folks scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy and sausage. Was it haute cuisine? Of course not, but think about the nickel you would drop taking the fam out for a full breakfast. Grandson loved the pool, and the gals loved the hot tub. Found this hotel just a few miles over the Idaho state line. Right off I90 so conveniently located. The outside looks fairly new. I booked it through my phone in the parking lot of the hotel (don't ask my why) then walked in to check in. Rate with tax was just under $200 for the night. I found the elevator and headed to my room. They chose this green pattern carpet through the hallway that I assume was new but yet looked old. I think it was just the colors in the carpet. The room had a lot bit of a smell when I walked through the door. It had a nice desk area and bathroom was separated and was a little unique. I guess I was looking for a little more from a $200 room. Probably didn't help that the prior two nights were at the four seasons in Seattle, but Marriotts are normally always a great choice. Again not anything wrong with it, just not quite what is was expecting. read more

Stayed for two nights based on the glowing Yelp reviews. Making a long story short, this is what we liked: everything (including the mattress), except breakfast. Front desk staff is super friendly and helpful, albeit that the dining recommendations seemed a little off compared to Yelp reviews of the same places. What we didn't like: having to compare the elevator advertisement for a fresh, natural breakfast with the reality of a standard, no frills continental, been there done that for thirty years high carbohydrate crappy breakfast buffet. Yes, there were some natural fresh things: a few pieces of fruit and coffee. But apparently no fresh yogurt, no sliced cheese or meats, no fresh croissant, no fresh juice. So yes, this is the rebranded Springfield Suites and yes it looks hip, modern, fresh and it is very clean, I just can't recommend it for breakfast. That's not such a big deal though; Elmer's, for instance, appears a reasonable substitute. read more

Do not stay here. None of the COVID19 procedures they advertise are likely to be true. Checked in yesterday and NONE of the employees were wearing masks, there was absolutely no social distancing, no hand sanitizer stations and no wipes provided in the rooms (these two items are advertised on their website). They had one thing of hand sanitizer in between the communal water jug and coffee jug. Seriously. Communal water and coffee jugs. During a pandemic. I asked them about the wipes they were supposed to provide and the employee shrugged and said "we're out". I highly doubt their rooms were subject to any special cleaning. I checked out so fast today. Stay away from Marriot hotels and this disgusting one in particular. read more

Wow I am surprised at how amazing my stay was. We opted to stay here instead of the resort and I'm so happy we did! Upon arrival, the front desk ladies were so welcoming and friendly! The room was very clean and spacious! Comfortable beds and our pull out couch had all the comfort as the beds. The breakfast the next morning was excellent, with so many options. Our kids loved the hot coco bar and we loved the coffee bar. We are making this our new hotel for the Christmas cruise every year! read more

My husband and I decided a night getaway away from the kids and was happy with our decision with this hotel. Upon our arrival, which was in the evening, the outer appearance was beautiful and inviting. The lobby area was well lit and appeasing to the eye. Front desk staff was courteous, helpful, and very professional. There are restaurants in walking distance behind the hotel if you choose not to tackle the downtown area, which is a few minutes away by car. The room was clean and the view was good. I appreciated the room layout, which reminded me of a studio apartment. The bathroom was well lit and the vanity mirror was really awesome (I like home designs). For those of you who love a shower with great water pressure, well this location had it. Pros Friendly/professional staff. Clean rooms. Great service. Nice architecture design. Dogs welcomed (we heard dogs in rooms on the 1st floor). Rooms for the handicapped. Good breakfast options. Pool, workout room, splash pad area, mini golf area, business area, WiFi and back patio area to sit and spend time alone or with loved ones. Cons The only complaint was we did not have a remote control in our room. We called the front desk to get a new one which we did, but it didn't work. Been coming here w/the family for the last two years. Rooms have two queen beds and a separate couch/seating area that can fold out into another bed if needed. Modern and clean bathroom. Large walk in closet that was able to handle the luggage and clothing needs of a family of four for four days. Great free breakfast buffet that includes waffles, biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage, and some other healthy stuff I avoided. Each evening there is a manager's social where wine/beer and snacks are provided in the lobby. They have a nice pool and jacuzzi for the family to use. They also had an outdoor splash pad for the little ones. Great staff all around! read more

We checked in today for a four-night stay and are really shocked by the (lack of) cleanliness, especially given this is a Marriott branded hotel. It is just plain dirty. This would not be OK in normal times, let alone during COVID. The staff cleaning the rooms around us seemed to all be early 20's and some were not even wearing uniforms (unless the uniform is a neon pink tank top and rolled down sweats with no mask). Within 30 minutes of settling into our room, yelling and laughing maid STAFF interrupted my zoom conf call; it would be one thing if these were someone's unruly kids - that happens and isn't always easily controlled by the hotel - but these are hotel employees. I feel more like I'm staying in a dorm than in a hotel...unreal. I usually stay at Holiday Inn or Staybridge when on business in CDA and will stick with those from now on. The only saving grace were the two front desk ladies Tanya and Nicole who both apologized profusely and cancelled our remaining nights when we decided to switch hotels. Kudos to them for patiently bearing the brunt of their unprofessional and discourteous colleagues. Edit: Morning of checkout we were woken up at 6:50am by an employee blasting country music in her car with the windows down waiting for her 7am shift. BUT We were refunded the one night we stayed by the GM Tucker who apologized and was very courteous and professional so upping to 3 stars for the fair resolution. Suggest they do some more staff training or accept that this location simply won't appeal to business travelers. read more

Very nice, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed room. A bit overpriced, but expected in Coeur d'Alene. As noted in other reviews, this hotel is in a great location and close to restaurants and shopping. The front desk was pleasant when we checked in and Tucker was particularly helpful when we requested an extra day stay. Our three concerns - very few patrons wore face masks, no one seemed to care about social distancing & lots of guns (we noticed men wearing guns, carrying guns, and loading long guns in their SUVs). Hunters? Feds? After all it IS Idaho, but all the guns in a hotel was still disconcerting. Re: COVID: There were placards near the elevator about COVID and the need to wear masks in the hotel, but we noticed cleaning staff were not wearing masks and one housekeeper entered our elevator without a mask despite the hotel's COVID requirements. read more

Conveniently located off the I-90. Staff is outgoing, helpful and polite. Our room was clean, and comfortable. We chose a king suite and it was well appointed with a sleeper sofa/sitting area. The bathroom (as are all Spring Hill Suites) was stocked with Paul Mitchell brand products. The hotel also has a small market area equipped with everything from local libations to salty snacks. And in the morning you can have a grab and go breakfast of cereal, bagels, waffles, juices and delicious little scones. read more

Covid Alert: A very small percentage of guests are masking up in the lobby and elevators even though the county has a mask mandate. Around breakfast time I counted near 50 people clustered in the small breakfast area and only a very few were masking. Even those who were just talking and not eating were not masked. Almost every time we used the elevator, people were getting on or off without masks. When I complained to the management, they said they had posted a sign so "what more could they do". Inexcusable. If you have to travel right now like we do and have any concerns over health issues, avoid this place as they are doing nothing to enforce the county mandate or protect guests. This is a common theme through many recent comments so clearly they are not getting it. read more
