Mixed but overall decent stay. Booked a Standard King and, true to the brand, didn't expect any frills--but I did expect comfort and value. I got about 75% of that. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were clean but the pillows were extremely soft and too flat. Doubling up didn't do much. Sleep wasn't terrible, just... meh. The room was humid and slightly musty, even with the A/C going non-stop. Also, the carpet felt really gross to step on so I wore flip-flops for the rest of the stay. Soundproofing could use some work too--muffled TV from next door and heavy steppers upstairs were noticeable. WiFi worked well. On the upside, common areas were clean and seemed recently updated, although the stairwells and elevator showed a little wear and tear. The free breakfast was basic but appreciated--hot, edible, and the area was clean and well-stocked. The pool/hot tub on the first floor looked really nice as did the fitness center but didn't get to use it. The staff was the highlight--everyone I interacted with was super friendly and welcoming, from check-in to checkout to the breakfast area. Definitely a strong point. The hotel is located right off I-84, which is convenient for travel (free parking on site/gas station around the corner), and there are plenty of chain food options nearby (Panera, Five Guys, Cracker Barrel, etc.) All in all, it's fine. Not bad, not amazing. The price was definitely high relative to other Holiday Inns I've been too and for what you get, but if you manage expectations and pack your own pillow, it gets the job done. read more

I gifted a stay at this hotel to a friend who was up in the area to visit. She and her husband reported back to me that the bed was extremely comfortable and the linens very clean.There's an indoor pool and Jacuzzi that has access to the outdoors.( parking lot view, but fresh air.) The hotel itself is tucked into a very nondescript area off of Route 84 in Fishkill, New York. Fishkill is loaded with Hotels of every flag, but most of them are select service not full service, as is this one. The Holiday Inn express brand provides a casual buffet breakfast which is standard across most similar hotels- Enough selection for a homestyle dash and go start to your day. In other words, do not expect it to knock your socks off. If you're up for sightseeing, head over to Main Street and take breakfast at one of the streets small independent restaurants or head over to Fishkill bagels on route 52 just outside of downtown Fishkill for some of the best bagels and deli you'll have anywhere in the region.ask for JOE. I would read this place horribly. It doesn't even get one star from me first the elevator was down. I am on disability. They had no way else of getting me Upstairs other than me carrying all my bags by myself didn't even offer. Help to carry your bags upstairs like I said I'm on disability to try to put me on the third floor, put me on the second floor, which was still just as difficult. We got put in another room the next day even though they told us they will try to put us on the first floor they just put us on the second floor with two beds instead of one still no help with our luggage other than the fact, the person at the front desk comes barging into the room and carries us out of the room because her cleaning lady wants to go home. I left my gems by the window when I realized I asked Lady at the front desk and she told me that they were no longer there and that they probably got thrown out in the garbage. I highly doubt it because they look like something that was worth money so I'm saying their cleaning staff stole it I will never go back here and I don't advise anybody else to go and have a stay here. I can't say that there was one person that was at the front desk when we first arrived that was very nice, but that was about it didn't even offer any comps for free rooms which I probably wouldn't have went back anyway, but I could've probably used at another holiday inn express they only got one star because this review won't go through unless I put a star, but they really were -0 read more

I left my portable charger and my Apple EarPods in the room after check out. I called the hotel and spoke to someone regarding this. He said he checked with the cleaning staff and nothing was found when I 100% left those two items in the room. The charger was plugged into a wall outlet. The EarPods were on the bed. read more

I'll start off by saying that I am a rewards member of Holiday Inn and have stayed at several other locations that were extremely nice. This one however is the pits. This is the worst I've stayed at. The rooms closet had no hangers to hang up clothing, The television had a staticky sound to it. The walls were so thin I could clearly hear the people next to us talking. While i was talking on the phone my friend said, don't sit on the sofa. Its probably nasty. I stood to see if their was anything to her half joke, and saw what I've attached in my pictures NASTY!!! Arrived at 11 PM last night. All the doors were open but there was no one at the front desk. We literally stood around and waited for quite some time. We walked around and looked into all the open utility rooms but could not find the desk attendant anywhere. After about 20 minutes I started to wonder if we were in the midst of a crime scene because all the doors were wide open to the computer room, the laundry room, and the back offices but no hotel clerk to be found. Another guest came to check in a little while later and then left disgruntled after waiting roughly ten minutes. And then yet another person cam down to buy drinks at the little store next to the check in desk. After waiting some time, he decided to do the honor system and took the soft drinks back to his room vowing to pay for them at a later date. Finally someone came carrying bedsheets and was not very apologetic about making us wait for roughly a half an hour. When we finally got into our room close to midnight, there was a terrible smell. It was the combination smell of deodorizer used to cover up a cigarette smell which surprised us because there's a sign in the lobby that says it's a no smoking hotel. We went back to the desk and he told us he had no other rooms. So we asked him to swap out our room with another person's room that had not checked in yet. I'm so glad we were able to think on our feet because he clearly was not. The second room was better lucky for us because he said there were no other rooms and we were about to leave and go sleep in our car. I needed to wash some clothes in the laundromat on the second floor. I thought that the free washer and dryer was such a great perk until I got up there and saw that one dryer was in need of repair. Not impressed at all with this hotel and especially the long dark hairs on the bathroom floor waiting to greet me and perhaps a gift left from the previous occupant. If you ever choose to stay here, I wish you the best of luck. This hotel is a disaster. read more

Holiday Inn Express is my go to brand. Unimpressed with this location. Arrived around 11 pm on a Thursday. There were a bunch of drunks partying in the lobby. Very loud. Beer bottles everywhere. Maybe I'm a prude. Arrived at breakfast at 7 am. Breakfast room was empty. But the room was a mess. Every table was dirty. Food on the floors, tables, counters. Not a house keeping staff to be found anywhere. Hotel was under construction. Our room was right next to the construction zone. So we smelled drywall and paint all night long. read more

Nick at the front desk was so nice!! I couldn't get the TV on, Nick came up right away, turned the TV on and would not take a tip. And I set an alarm for 6:30am for the free breakfast haha read more

There is an old saying- "So clean you could eat off the floor!" That is exactly what I thought after my stay here. This hotel is immaculate. Both the common areas and the rooms are spotless. You would have thought it opened yesterday but when I found out its most recent remodel was 2 1/2 years ago I was really impressed. This is a budget hotel at its best. My room was comfortable. It was a snap to control the room temperature. My bathroom even had a shower with multiple shower heads! See my pic. That's unheard of in an HIE. There is an indoor pool and hot tub and a small fitness center. Once again they are spotless and beautifully maintained. The staff was great and the free breakfast was exactly as expected. A bonus is that there are tons are places to eat and drink within a two minute drive including an amazing diner right next door. Not bad, middle of the road, which in this case is route nine land of commerce ! what can i say, this is not my brand, but i guess its a good alternative. the bathroom set ups are a joke, i mean the door doesnt open the whole way, and its on a weird angle, i dont really understand why they did it like they did, but at least the door shuts! looking at the pictures i see online, it looks like they have showers with multiheads, maybe ill attempt to get on of those the next time as the showers arent great either. breakfest however is a but much, they have 100 choices which i suppose is great if you are a glutton. im fine with coffee, but the oatmeal cups they have are a nice step up. i think i gained 2 pounds thinking about the cinnamon rolls they give you too! the fridge they use is all sorts of screwed up though, frozen eggs? leaky defrost? bad news dudes. anyway, as i mentioned, its not my brand, but if i get shut out from the guys across the street, i have no issues booking this place. alas, travel is over for now..... read more

Cute place, the desk staff is AMAZING - seriously this girl is an asset. Our room had a used bandaid in it- um, disgusting. Our door had trouble locking. The 'free' breakfast was out of everything, no orange juice, no cereal, no cinnamon buns. Basically anything you wanted, they were out of. There is NO appearance of bed bugs - this is huge for me. Do not stay here. Safety/Fire code violations. We booked for 5 adults, showed up and they insist we put three adults in one bed, and two in the other. I asked why there isn't a rollaway or sofa. I'm then told that a roll away is a fire code violation. No manager on duty or help given. Katherine was extremely rude, laughed in my face and lied about it. Who puts three adults in a queen bed and two in another and counts that as a room for 5? After pressing with corporate (Intercontinental) for assistance, we were first offered an additional mattress on the floor. Then they told us to take the roll away despite the fire code violation. When questioned about the code violation/safety issue, they blamed me and said I refused the room. Room was immediately cancelled. We travelled from Texas and Florida to attend a burial at West Point USMA. They had no sympathy, put my family and kids out after three hours of no help. Active military and retired, avoid. My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights on the weekend. I really had my hopes up for this hotel but I should have known that it was too good to be true. As soon as we arrive, we are told we are not on their list of reservations which is simply not possible. One of the staff members had already checked us in before we had arrived so we had to wait for 40 mins until the mix up was resolved. We get to our room and we are greeted with a very strong cigarette smell. We looked past that and thought it was normal for a hotel even though its a smoke free hotel. We also were woken up all throughout the night because of very loud guests. The hotel also has one side facing a 24/7 car wash which brings a large car crowd. They will race up and down the street at all hours of the night. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU REQUEST A ROOM FACING THE MOUNTAINS because of the street noise. The cigarette smell also got worse throughout our stay indicating that someone was smoking currently. read more

We needed to rearrange our schedule and called to cancel the last night and were told no problem with no questions or comments, however upon arrival discovered that we would still have to pay for the canceled night and no accommodations were made and the staff was unhelpful in this regard. If you expect The Ritz, you will be disappointed. As for me, I was staying a few nights for a wedding. The room was immaculate and complete with modern furnishings and bathroom, the bed super cozy, comfortable temperature, and quiet. The staff working at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I was in the middle of a meltdown because I realized my flight was a day later than I had intended to schedule it. An employee got me to a computer room and checked in on me to see if I needed anything else. The breakfast buffet was standard.....weird tasting eggs, greasy bacon and sausage, but there were also healthier options with greek yogurt and fruit. Ostensibly this is a decent place. This is my first night here and I'm sure it's ill advised that I write this now, but I have to or I will explode. I'm in room 112. Do not stay in this room. The elevator shaft is immediately adjacent and it sounds like someone is sporadically running water every time it goes up or down. I'm sure this will die down between 1am and 6am. Too bad I like to sleep from 11 pm to 7am. I took a red eye from California for God's sake! So while the front desk has been lovely (not withstanding the statement, "we try not to rent that room," in response to my, "is my room the loudest in the building?"), this room sucks. Other notes: there's no light fixture in my shower; the towel rod is broken; the door in the bathroom doesn't open all the way; the bed is so close to the 46" flat screen HD TV madness you have to move your head to watch it; horrible cell service; I asked for commercial route directions to the hotel and they not so much as attempted to figure them out; Room 112 is also immediately across from the pool and hot tub which attracts the loudest of any hotel. And there is a fly in Room 112. Other than that, it's lovely. I give this four stars because in the middle of my sleepless night, they upgraded me to a suite and that was by far more lovely. Great deal for the price. I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express for one night while on a business trip. I would definitely stay again if I were in the area. It was pretty much the same as the other Holiday Inn Expresses that I have stayed at. The good: The room was nice and clean, it even had both soft and firm pillows which were marked on the pillowcases. The bed was comfortable. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator. It had a pool and a small fitness center. The morning breakfast was the standard fare with hot and cold cereal, muffins, cinnamon buns, bagels, toast, eggs, a pancake machine, tea, coffee, milk and juice. The staff were very friendly. The bad: The room had a musty smell and the windows could not be opened. The walls were paper thin. I could hear all the phone conversations and TV sounds from the next rooms. read more

I coordinated a three day church visitation in the New York area. I chose this hotel because of the location and the great amenities. Working with Harsh Patel, the general manager and Vanessa Calle , his assistant we were able to secure 36 rooms. The property was extremely clean, the rooms were very spacious and orderly with fridge , microwave, wi-fi and a big screen TVs . The breakfast was amazing with meats , pancakes, eggs, yogurt, cereal,breads, hash browns and the signature Cinnabon's . The staff was very pleasant and helpful. read more

This is a review of the service only, we never made it to our room. Booked a reservation at 7am confirmed at 1PM arrived at 2:45 and was told our room was not ready and they would have it ready in 15 minutes. We waited in the lobby for a half hour. At this point I went back to the front desk for an update and was told "any minute", 15 minutes later we were told the room was ready and they had me register. We made our way to the elevator pressed the button for the second floor the doors closed and we just stayed there. At this point my wife said she had enough, I agreed and we went to the front desk and cancelled the room. They offered to have someone check and reset the elevator but we just wanted to leave. It's not fancy, but it's a nice budget hotel. Room was very clean if a bit on the small side. Everything worked fine. Service was friendly, and a call for extra towels had them delivered in 5 minutes. Pool is small but nice for kids. Breakfast is typical for HIE, but everything was there and they kept it clean. I wanted to warn you about the Holiday Inn Express Fishkill. I prepaid in full for two rooms, five months in advance for Ring Weekend. When we arrived, they had sold one of our rooms and could not provide lodging for our party of four adults. We were referred to the Peekskill location, where we had to pay an additional $120 per night. To date: We have not been refunded any of our money nor have we been compensated for the trouble or added expense. I have contacted IHG C.E. 13 days ago, still no action has been taken in an effort to make this right. I have called, emailed and contacted Expedia, nothing is being done. We lost $650.00 I beg anyone that has reservations here for grad week to change your plans. I explained that I have 4 rooms reserved for Grad Week and that I would even be ok with appying payment toward that reservation. I was told they would not do that. They told me, because of the events going on at West Point, they are not in a position to have to negotiate with me, they will remain booked and my reservation and dissatisfaction is unfortunate but changes nothing. Don't do it!!! We have been having a gathering of crafters for the past several years and always used a conference room. This time we were promised a room but upon arrival we were informed no room was available but please use the lobby as the hotel was not fully booked. We moved several chairs together and when we went up for the night we left them like that as we planned to use them in the morning. No one said a word about it to us. Upon my arrival in the lobby in the morning the front desk clerk was talking negative about our little group to all who would listen standing out in the open. She did this several times while I was sitting in the lobby and if I could hear her so could everyone else in the lobby. Terrible customer service representation! Terrible I was accessed a $175 smoking fee when I never smoked not once there poor vent room. 2 minute in shower in the whole room is steam so how is it I managed to smoke in there room without anyone notice smoke smell or the smoke? Didn't realize the Hyatt House is across the street. It was very loud at 3am and hotel management didn't do anything. It is actually louder than the hotel I stayed at in NYC with all of the street noise. Stay across the street and the Hyatt House. read more
