Not a great phone signal inside, but the free wifi worked well. No idea about housekeeping, as we didn't stay long enough to need it, and I think the room could use more drawer space, but again, not really an issue if you're not there for long. We booked here because it was close to Legoland, and we were happy with our stay.

I, like almost all travelers, took a bit to book this on my laptop reading reviews and comparing prices. To tell me I can just cancel and book somewhere else isn't that easy. Search pools, locations and prices all from my phone in a hotel lobby? No thank you. So we kept the hotel and instead of an easy post flight afternoon of throwing the kids in the hotel pool, we had to pay for a cab to head to an entertainment place and spend even more money. The good: Rachel Kuhn the GM was extremely sweet and apologetic for the pool issue and said it came from higher ups in the hotel chain to not give discounts or any type of reimbursement for the pool issue. She gave us her business card and told us to reach out for the next visit to try to help us out. Fresh towels and turned over bed everyday but we found a bottle of Mountain Dew next to the bed, big thing for housekeeping to miss. I might pay more to stay at the other hotel next time but this wasn't terrible. Decent breakfast included

Unable to get to the town due to the flooding it took numerous phone calls with the hotel to get them to agree on a 2 room credit. This was not an easy task, despite the town being flooded and all roads blocked they said sorry we are open and it's our policy when you cancel day of not to reimburse. So we agreed to take the two room credit. Our first credit was able to be used. It took two phone calls to arrange but nevertheless they agreed to honor one credit. When I attempted to use the next credit they said it was lost. All room credits need to be used in same year (2023). So they received $180 we couldn't use originally because a flooding disaster and provided no service in return. This is a case of a business who knows despite what they do it won't matter because of the proximity to a University/tourist attraction like West Point. They don't care about customer service, or updating the hotel etc, they will get the tourists and the families who visit students money regardless. Throughout my communication they have been rude and spoke with a tone that was not professional. Again they can do this because they know all rooms will continue to be booked. So I know this review won't have an impact on the hotel but I firmly believe you get what you give. Sooner or later the hotel management will get a return on all the negativity they have given.

Driving in, we liked how the hotel is tucked away on a hill off the main road. As we pulled up, we were greeted with a beautiful view overlooking the lake and mountains. We were happy to find out our room had that same view, and the hotel also has a large balcony where you can sit and take it all in. Check-in was quick and professional. The older gentleman at the front desk had a rough, sarcastic sense of humor that gave us a laugh. There was also plenty of parking right out front. The room itself was good. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was excellent, the Wi-Fi worked without any issues, and the room was clean with no off smells. The rooms also had a fridge. That said, I do think the hotel as a whole could use a deep cleaning of the carpets. The lobby carpet especially looked worn and could probably be cleaned or replaced. There's a pool which we were glad to have. We met another family staying there and our kids ended up playing together. We also met an elderly couple who told us they come back every year just to relax which says a lot about the atmosphere here. One downside was the housekeeping staff. They were too loud in the hallways and could definitely use some training on being mindful of guests. There's no breakfast but they do offer complimentary coffee along with grab and go goodie bags in the morning with muffins and granola bars. It was a nice gesture but I think even a simple continental breakfast would make this hotel a much stronger value. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The views are the biggest selling point, the room was comfortable and clean, and the atmosphere was relaxing. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay with a great view and don't mind skipping breakfast, this is a solid option.

The view and convenience to AWP was great! For the price, the rooms could be a little better. If you've had the pleasure of staying at random Army housing, you get the gist. The AC worked well, with separate units in the bedroom and living room. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hot breakfast was fine, with eggs and meat. Note that non-military people can stay here. Both nights we walked to the Thayer Hotel, just inside the base gates, and ate dinner at General Patton's Tavern. The food and beer were all good.
