They call this a 2-star hotel? Major props to this place their prices and quality of room are well worth the rate. Don't get me wrong only reason this is getting 4 starts is because of poor experience with breakfast the 2nd morning. Their rooms are pretty damn near spotless. Leah (I believe the receptionist name was) was very professional and welcoming. She did her best to make sure in the morning everything was stocked for breakfast. She gets 5 stars. Second morning was some young girl at the desk and extreme poor breakfast experience. Everything was running out. No cups. No juice . Very unfortunate. Overall stay here. Maybe consider doing breakfast elsewhere read more

Hotel staff were amazing. The system was down and the had to sign us in without computer access. We waited about 20 minutes. They figured it out and we were given a room. i did worry a little about photo copying my card and ID but that is what we needed to do to check in. Room was comfy but i'm a corner detailer so i'm really big on that. bathroom corner detail needed. I enjoyed my overnight stay. no breakfast detail i have not indulged yet. The breakfast was sub par; the standard powdered eggs were not even offered. Location near I-84 was perfect. The price paid was not worth the money we spent. We stayed here last weekend because it was recommended by a family member, but we were horribly disappointed. Around 9 pm on the second night of our stay, we found a bed bug on the cloth shower curtain. We then checked all the sheets and beds, and we were horrified to find empty mini alcohol bottles underneath one of the mattresses. Evidently, the housekeeping staff did not really clean the room before our arrival. We took the bed bug in a ziploc bag to the front desk, but Alice did not apologize and insisted this was a deer tick. We showed her side-by-side online photos of bed bugs and deer ticks to prove that it was clearly a bed bug. We have been hiking for years and have personal experience identifying deer ticks. We also had the bed bug identified and confirmed by a family member who is a professional entomologist. Alice again insisted that it was a deer tick and said that housekeeping regularly cleans and sprays the rooms between guests; however, given the previously mentioned alcohol bottles underneath the mattresses, we weren't convinced that was true. She at first said that there were no available rooms for us to move to, but we said that we would be going home if we couldn't be transferred. She then finally looked in the system and arranged for us to move to another room. It was close to 10 pm at that point, so it was very inconvenient and tiring for us to have to check all the fabrics in the new room and all our belongings for other bugs. We honestly would have moved to another hotel if we could have, but there was no availability nearby. At the time, we had asked whether we could get any sort of compensation for the inconvenience of having to transfer rooms so late at night but were told to call management a few days later. We did and were given a partial refund. Still, given everything that happened, we would not recommend staying at this hotel. read more

We stayed for a one night stay(July 2021) & booked through Hotels.com. We chose this over other area hotels because it was slightly cheaper but still had good reviews. Theo at check in was personable and courteous. The policy was that they made me give a card for incidentals and said they would hold $50. Ok- that's typical. However, they made me put the card through a credit card machine and sign for it. That was odd but Theo insisted it wasn't a charge just a hold. He also told me about a breakfast bag, which they are doing due to the pandemic- on a Monday it was from 6:30-9:30am. I make a note to check that out. There is also Wi-Fi Theo says & gives me the password on Hotel card holder. Then we get into the room and my husband notices that the shower rod is coming off of the wall. The rod is "cemented" into the wall and you can see where the tile is cracked and the rod is pulling away from the wall. It may still be safe to use (I don't know) but looks scary for sure. Then the amount of soap they give you is the absolute tiniest bottles I have ever seen. We are staying here two adults and two kids and no way that would be enough for us to wash our hair. Thankfully the bar of soap is average sized. The next morning I try to outside to get the breakfast bag. The deadbolt on the lock is stuck. It took quite some time and a lot of jiggling and later brute force to get it to open. Finally I go down to front desk for the breakfast bag at 6:38am. I can hear the clerk in the room adjacent to the front desk and call out for her repeatedly with no answer. After about 8 minutes of waiting and saying, "Hello!" Trying to get her attention another guest tells me she has headphones on (how she guessed or knew this I don't know because you can't see into the laundry room from front desk area from the angle we were at) and BELLOWS at the woman. Finally she comes out and gives us our stuff. However, should someone basically have to scream or should you be periodically popping your head into front desk area to see if anyone is in need of assistance. Then she gives me my food and when I come up I realize she didn't give me two yogurts. You asked me if I needed two bags & gave me two of everything else why wouldn't you give me two yogurts. Overall the hotel is not significantly dirty. The hallway and rooms do show wear & there are visible areas in the corners you can see the vacuum didn't pick up. Bed was ok but pillows were square shaped. They were about decorative pillow sized, surprisingly fluffy but not really big enough to lay your head on comfortably. Room was sized large enough to have two travel cribs fit in it. Air conditioner was cold. Wi-Fi was spotty. At night I could access it periodically but the next morning even though it said I was fully connected I got no service. Had to write this on notes in my phone & will have to post it when I get home. I do understand that the pandemic definitely effected the breakfast experience and being so early maybe the manager was tired. However, there was no reason for the Wi-Fi to be non function or the crack in the wall or horrible deadbolt. Next time I will spend the extra money to stay at the Hyatt or one of the nicer hotels in the areas. There just wasn't enough of a savings for all the little problems I had. *As of 4 days after stay the $50 hold from check in has still not come back into my account* read more

I was looking for a relatively local hotel in the area, preferably the Poughkeepsie area but according to many Yelp reviews even big Sheraton brands had low reviews. I trusted my beloved Yelp reviewers and I wasn't disappointed. The Quality Inn gave me a very satisfactory night and the dinner just outside was a bonus for those midnight munchies. Room I got was really clean and well kept but I have to say I was sorely disappointed the room had a shower instead of a bathtub. I just prefer bathtubs but the shower wasn't a deal breaker. Staff was super friendly and hotel lobby well kept/clean. Continental breakfast was lacking but I didn't come here for free breakfast, I came for a clean comfy room. Beds are on the firm side but I like firm. The lite breakfast offered included several items (i.e. bagels, muffins, toast, pancakes) but I opted for an English muffin and sausage after I originally took a stale bagel. A quick toss of the stale bagel in the trash and the English muffin hit the spot. I doubt the English muffin was Thomas English muffins but it was still decent. I didn't find any hidden secrets inside the sausage either, like gross unprocessed bone fragments, so sausage patty was decent as well and rested in my tummy comfy as it digested. Overall not a bad place at all. Totally worth the value it offers for the budget category hotel. I84 dinner is just outside, walking distance so that was nice too. read more

We were very pleased with our weekend stay here in early September. Our room was VERY VERY clean! The bathroom was spotless, no musty smell nothing! Sheets were crisp and clean, pillows were awkward size but nonetheless clean and beds were comfy! We were given a room close to the elevator but never experienced any extra noises outside and even though this hotel is right by the highway it was a quiet stay. We skipped the 1-84 diner, the complimentary continental breakfast from 6am-10am came in handy and I have to say it was actually pretty good. Their coffee was also good and everything tasted fresh! Our boys (6 & 3) definitely had their fair share of breakfast lol. The hotel itself was clean. Lobby and dining area clean and organized. Elevator, A/C and fridge were all in working order. Staff were nice and very helpful. Complimentary coffee, tea, snacks in the lobby area. We will definitely be staying here again. read more

This hotel does the job for one night. It's right off the highway and convenient for many Hudson Valley activities, including the Hudson Valley Renegades minor league baseball team. It's just one exit away from Dutchess Stadium. The bath towels were thin and the pillows were small and lumpy. The room was average, but it was clean, and the staff were pleasant. Stayed three nights January 17, 18, 19. This hotel is only 6 years old, so everything is new, clean and in good working order. The location is great, just off Route 84. We stayed in room 118 with a nice Jacuzzi. Complaints/issues? Only two, both could be dismissed as minor, but I found them annoying. While the bed was comfortable, whoever ordered the pillows was either a Lilliputian or a Munchkin. They are approximately the size of large napkins. I have two of them behind my head as I write this, and my cranium is banging the headboard. The other issue is the mirrored closet door, which in a hotel room not designed by the Marquis de Sade, would be a sliding door. This one swings open, pretty much creating an impassable obstacle between the bedroom area and the entrance/bathroom area. Very unwieldy and goofy to the point where you're tempted to just throw your stuff on the floor and forget the closet. This didn't bother me, but my companion described the quilt as on the thin and insubstantial side, and there were no other quilts or blankets in the room. Complimentary breakfast is good. Staff is friendly. I'm still going with four stars because they have the important bases covered for a hotel in this price range. Tip: The hotel is owned by the same folks that own the very good 84 diner a few steps next door. The diner offers a discount (in our case, 10%) to guests of the hotel, buy there is no sign to that effect in either the hotel or the diner. We "accidentally" found out about this from our waitress. Tip 2: BYOP - bring your own pillows. read more

Definately one of the nicest Quality Inn's I've stayed at- Granted, it is fairly newly built but still well maintained and very clean. No signs of previous guest use in the room. Rooms are an average size with LCD TV's with a full cable line-up and mini-fridges. (but no microwave in most rooms) The staff will happily let you use the microwave in the breakfast area. Breakfast is fairly decent with hot and cold foods. There is a diner right in front of the hotel as well that is 24 hours. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The only tip I will say is if highway noise bothers you, request a room on the backside of the hotel since it is RIGHT next to I-84. read more

Stayed for 3 nights. Very nice and helpful staff. Fabulous complimentary breakfast. Very clean and bug-free. Bathroom was very nice and clean. Very updated decor. We stayed in king suite and enjoyed the extra space. But not restful sleep for three reasons. The bed pillows are 12"x12" and there were four of them for king bed. The hotel desk gave me two more pillows...same little size. The mattress was comfortable but covered with plastic so that we were sweaty in middle of night. Then the A/C thermostat changes to higher temp during the night so the room heats up. We could not change this with the controls. It changes back in the morning providing cool air. This happened all three nights. Our adult sons staying in a different room had same problems with A/C at night. So really nice hotel, great breakfast, poor sleep. I need the sleep. read more

Stayed here for 1 night in July after seeing a performance of Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival at Boscobel. They offer a 10% discount off ticket prices when booking the hotel. We were VERY impressed, not having set our expectations very high for a Quality Inn. Couldn't beat the price of about $90 INCLUDING all tax. A bit of a drive from Boscobel--about 20 minutes--but very convenient to I-84, and worth the extra distance for a rate this good, especially compared to the B&Bs in Cold Spring which would have been closer to the theater. Impeccably clean, no signs of wear and tear in our room or in public areas. Comfortable bed. Mini-fridge in the room. Complimentary breakfast in the lobby included bagels, english muffins, pastries, mini-muffins, cereals, fruit, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, and make-your-own waffles. Cookies available at the front desk when we arrived at 2:30pm and closer to midnight after the show. Friendly staff. We'll make this an annual trip in the future and will happily book the Quality Inn. I'll note that our room faced the interstate but we weren't bothered by any highway noises. read more

Enjoyed our stay here for a total of 7 nights. Plenty of parking available and located in a good location. I-84 Diner is located next door which is a great place for value meals. The complimentary breakfast at the Motel is pretty good that features, pastries, meat, eggs, pancakes, cereal and yogurt. My wife also enjoyed the complimentary coffee/ tea and cookies located in the lobby. The only issues that I had was the television with fuzzy channels and bathroom door that couldn't lock. After coming to Newburgh for many years for our annual event, this is one hotel I'd not stayed in before, as now I think I've stayed in them all. So coming here for our annual special weekend event, (Thursday to Sunday.. I like to come up 1 night before our event, just to get settled and relaxed), turned out nice. At check in, I'd realized before getting to the room, before leaving the desk, that I was not being given my floor preference, asked for a change and they quickly assisted me with that, w/o any problems. Room was clean, upon entering. I did my personal usual tidy up of the room (Lysol, remote controls, light switches, bathroom, etc... I'm always worried about the possibility that something could've been honestly overlooked by Housekeeping..call me strange, but as a result, I've never gotten sick or anything!), set my things as I like them, for quick and easy getting ready in the morning. The women who cleaned the rooms seemed friendly enough. My room was attended daily by the Housekeeping staff, very well.. no troubles there. Room, bed, etc was all very comfortable.. no troubles here! Very pleasant stay!! read more

This was our first stay in a hotel since quarantine started in March and it was fine and felt safe. Of course everyone is required to wear masks in the elevators and the common areas and for the most part everyone did. The king-sized bed in our room was firm and comfortable. The towels were thin but I expected that. We were disappointed by the "to-go" bags they provided for breakfast. Instead of unhealthy packaged donuts, we would have preferred a hard-boiled egg and/or a banana. There's a diner a few steps away from the hotel where you can have breakfast or lunch outside. The hotel is about a mile away from Fishkill's "restaurant row." Many of the restaurants have outdoor dining if you're not comfortable eating inside. read more

The rooms were clean the whole experience was beyond my expectations, the location was convenient right off the highway with plenty of excellent restaurants in the area, you MUST try the 84 diner and the ice cream shop next door. Also very nice Continental breakfast, it was both filling and hot . I recommend this hotel to everyone you will not be disappointed as long as Vena and Cecilia are there. There is no pool nor jacuzzi, only a small exercise room if you're trying to go for more of a vacation. This isn't the place for that. It's got for breakfast eggs, sausage patty and potatoes every day for hot breakfast. Room service is good. They clean well and front desk gives you the customer service you deserve. They've got a plate of cookies, coffee and tea every day at the lobby to unwind after a long day. The rooms are small. They don't include microwave but there's one in the lobby. The bathroom is a better size than other Quality hotels. read more

When we got there the service was warm, friendly, and it felt a bit like home. They knew that Gary and I were heading to a wedding so they made sure we were getting there safely and helped us get in and out super quickly. The room itself was big and clean. VERY CLEAN!!!!!! For a value hotel this definitely stood out for me. The staff are friendly and their hot breakfasts are great. There is always coffee & cookies out by the front desk, which is a nice touch. I'd stay here again. One side note - all the rooms with king beds (not including the suites) face the highway which is kind of noisy. The AC in the room goes on & off and is pretty loud as well so if you're a light sleeper, take that into account. read more

Vena made us (and her regulars there, too I noticed) feel like family and the rooms were clean, odorless, comfortable and after a 12 hour bus ride, we were extremely pleased! I stayed here one night as I was attending a nearby wake service. When I arrived I was told I was upgraded to the brand new property next door. WOW!!! What a great experience. The place is BRAND NEW! I checked in on a Wed night around 8pm and was met with a lovely young lady at the check in desk who greeted me and was very helpful and polite. I live just 2 minutes away from the hotel and thought this would be a perfect location for our friends and ourselves after our wedding. All of our friends who stayed there could not stop praising your hotel. From the brilliant front desk staff, the amazing housekeeping staff and that perfect breakfast you offer. A friends who have been traveling the states from Australia and had been staying in other hotels along their travels here, said it was the best hotel yet they had stayed at in America. The rooms were HUGE. One friend forgot their IPhone charger and asked the front desk where they could get one... They were immediately offered one for loan. Really amazing. I stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a mini-vacation to Cold Spring with college friends, and we absolutely loved it! Our two-queen accommodation was comfortable, clean, and had all of the basic amenities we were looking for. I'm very picky when it comes to bathrooms, but ours was spotless and fairly large compared to most hotels of similar quality. The staff was also very pleasant, and the free breakfast included make-your-own waffles, juice, cereal, various pastries, eggs and sausage - definitely enough to fill you up! This hotel's proximity to Main Street in Cold Spring (within 10-15 min. driving distance) as well as Breakneck Ridge (the greatest hiking location I have ever experienced) made it truly ideal for our short trip. Considering the cleanliness, convenience and value of this hotel, it's the best place to stay in the area, and I will be booking a reservation again in the near future. read more

I agree that this is a nicely maintained hotel, even though it is 10 years old. The rooms were spacious, well maintained and comfortable. What nobody seems to say is that half the hotel is very close to the highway and the traffic noise is very noticeable. Needless to say, the less expensive rooms are on the noisy side. So, if traffic noise keeps you up-get one of the suites. They suites are only $10 more (on some days) and have a nice desk and couch. We switched from a regular King to a King-suite and slept much better the next night. read more

We had called and reserved our room almost 2 months in advance of our actual stay. We booked a king size room for 3 nights. Upon arrival we were told we were in a double queen room. I informed the front desk this was incorrect and that we booked a room with a king size bed. I was informed there were no king rooms available because the hotel was booked. We had our reservations 2 months in advance! So they gave our room away apparently. As to the statement that the hotel is booked; appears to be a lie. There are plenty of open parking spaces and we have yet to see more than 3 other families in the lobby through our 3 night stay. This is the third hotel we have stayed in this week on our vacation and the most disappointing. Besides sleeping in a smaller bed than we had expected there have been other issues. The heat/AC unit has been on the fritz since we first arrived. It is impossible to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. The beds are uncomfortable. Pillows are tiny. The doors to the rooms are hard to open and shut. Beware that if you stay in this hotel you make sure the door shuts behind you. On the first day of our stay we left all day just to come back and find the door did not shut behind us and was open all day long! Thankfully we didn't leave any valuables inside. I hope your stay is better than ours. read more
