Seamless. I pre-paid online. I presented my ID and had my room key within five minutes. Customer service was friendly! Check-out was just as easy. Gave my room number and was on my way! The room: The room is spacious. I got a double-Queen room. Plenty of lighting. Decent sized flat screen. A large closet with hangers and an iron inside. The bathroom is where things went wrong. There's an obvious plumbing issue. While showering, the water was not draining. Unfortunately, I had to shower with a pool of water at my feet. When I got out the shower, the floor was completely soaked. The water was flooding from underneath the tub. Also, there were obvious flood water marks near the toilet. Amenities: Free breakfast including items such as yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, pancakes, eggs, Cinnabons, sausages & more. Free coffee and tea available as well. A very large pool is onsite. A small but mighty gym is on site as well. Vending machines and an ATM are in the lobby. I did see multiple signs reminding guests about "Quiet Hours." Which makes me believe this hotel has issues with guest hosting room parties. Outside of the bathroom issues, I would re-book if working in Downtown Pittsburgh again. But for a leisure, social trip I would consider booking elsewhere.

I asked whether I could pay for an early check-in, and instead of responding professionally, she looked at me with obvious disgust and acted like my presence was a problem. Her tone was cold, dismissive, and openly hostile. She told me there were no rooms and that I should just wait, with absolutely no basic courtesy. The way she treated me made me feel deeply unwelcome, and honestly, it felt racist. I was so uncomfortable and upset that even though I could not get a refund, I still left and checked into another hotel. That is how bad this experience was. If this is how they treat guests, people should stay far away from this place.

When I told the lady behind the desk I get the government rate she told me unless I have a paper saying I'm here for work she would not honor it. Even though I'm on their list as a gov employee. I even showed her my gov ID. Said didn't matter. The manager won't accept unless I had proof I was working here. I've never had a problem like this. I even told her I had my past receipts from previous stays. I've spent a few thousand bucks staying here over the last month. But after last night giving me a hard time about the gov rate which I think they should honor no matter the circumstances. I think I'll start booking at the Marriott next door.

I was also planning to drive to upstate New York and thought this would be a convenient location for a faster getaway. Well, a sudden winter snowstorm forced me to cancel the side trip to New York, and I ended up spending very little time exploring Bloomfield because I took a long nap in my room after a sleepless night in the previous hotel. Even though it was bordering on pointless to shift to this hotel, I still enjoyed the studio I reserved for $152. There was a comfortable king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a corner sofa, and a 360-degree swivel flatscreen TV. It was a lot of amenities I didn't need, but hey, it was freezing cold, so the apartment set-up made it feel cozy. One other advantage was a sizable lot to park my rental SUV. Even though they offered a happy hour and continental breakfast, I skipped both. Instead I braved the cold and just strolled on Baum to find a decent greasy spoon for dinner and a quiet gay bar for a drink. Not a bad stay, and I'd consider a return to explore Bloomfield. The lobby area was really pretty and so much larger than it appears from outside. Free breakfast! The pool was nice and heated. We had it to ourselves both times we went in it during our stay. The hotel is located is a great area. Cons: It seems like the furniture was poor quality. Multiple times during the stay there was a panel that kept falling off the table in the kitchen area. The parking is pricey. I absolutely hate paying for parking. I wish this came with the hotel stay as it was also already priced on the higher end. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. I would probably pick a day that didn't fall on a holiday weekend for a less expensive stay.

The check-in went pretty quick. There is a lounging area on the main level with a computer and printer. There is also stairs and an elevator. The room is more spacious than I thought. Small couch, fridge, microwave and desk. The couch looks old and needs replaced but everything else seemed good. The noise level is low excluding someone above me on the last day the had heavy feet. It was like they were running a walkathon because they constantly stomped across the room. There was a small exercise room with a TV. The reception on the TV was terrible. It only got 1 channel that went in and out. The remote did not work fir changing channels. Overall, it was good stay. I would stay here again in the future.

Lots of parking that wraps around the back of the hotel if you end up in a room back there like I did. Check in was quick and simple. Hotel is only two floors. Hotel is clearly an older building due to its design and the rooms were without question renovated at some point. There are not really enough electrical sockets to charge modern electronics. Room came with a larger than average mini fridge, microwave, and smaller than average TV. The channels were not in high-definition. The bed was a bed, it was ok. After being in the room for a little while, I noticed there was some sort of stains on the wall. The carpet could also use a shampooing, as my socks didn't look great after walking around on it. Bathroom was also clearly renovated at some point, but felt small, and the shower head was mounted somewhat low. Shower had more then enough hot water. The Free hot breakfast left something be desired. It was a waffle station and pre-packaged pastries, along with coffee and juice. Overall, this is a get in and get out hotel, and not one for a long-term stay. I feel I might have overpaid for a cheap room, and this would not be my first option on a future trip in the area.

The breakfast has no hot food except waffles; no eggs, no meats. They do have a ton of yogurt, muffins, cereal, and juices, coffee, milk etc. It was easy to check in and check out. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is a lot of property so I was able to get a nice walk in before going to bed. The hotel is located around many restaurants and stores.

This hotel was undergoing some renovations in October 2025, so keep that in mind. That just means you may be in a renovated room! The renovations didn't impact my stay at all. Just please renovate those pillows! Those need some reinforcements.

They stated they didn't have access to any and we weren't due for a room refresh until two days after we checked in but housekeeping would get to us when they could since they didn't start until 9. Not very helpful but housekeeping was luckily quick and we were able to get clean and out of the hotel with only a minor delay. Breakfast was mostly tasteless. Highlights for my family were the chocolate milk, waffle station and cereal/yogurt selection. I would skip the eggs, breakfast meats etc. they were bland and the texture was off. It was evident the hotel is cutting corners to save money and that is sad. I expect more out of a Marriott property. We almost exclusively book Marriott properties when traveling. This one was quite the disappointment.
