Despite being basically on the tarmac, I was not bothered by the noises of airplanes and enjoyed a super comfy bed. The staff is accommodating and you have two different restaurants to choose from. An added bonus was the rooftop bar where you could watch airplanes coming in or leaving. I'd definitely stay here again. The bathrooms and rooms were clean. The AC actually keeps you cool too.

Eventually, found a public transportation desk at the airport who directed us to take the free bus, H30, to get to the specific hotel. We waited for about 20 minutes or so for the bus, which took us to terminal 4. Remember, London Heathrow is huge, so it's quite a few stops before we reached our destination. When we arrived at terminal 4, we entered the terminal with our luggage, and then walked a long covered passage to get to the Hilton London. It's a looooong walk! Hotel was clean and modern. Check in was easy. Being Hilton Honors members , we received a slight room upgrade. Room was clean, quiet , and away from the elevators. As this was the end of our trip and we were exhausted, it was nice the hotel had an executive lounge, restaurant, and breakfast. Apps and crudités in the lounge were just ok, nothing spectacular, but the breakfast was awesome! one of the better ones that we have had compared to others. The spread included pastries/breads, complete English breakfast, cereals/grains, made to order omelettes, various sausages/bacon, yogurts, fruits, potatoes, various juices, coffee.... you name it! Getting back to the airport..we bypassed trying to get the H30 bus, and called an Uber!

The location couldn't possibly be more convenient. It is literally attached to the airport. Honestly it was a little hard for me to find because after you get off the Elizabeth line there's not really any clear signage for the tunnel that takes you to the hotel. I had to stumble around the airport asking people where it was before I found it. The lobby is huge and really makes a great first impression. My room was spacious and I loved how they catered to international travelers by having four different types of plugs, including a US one, on the desk. This was the only place where I saw that. This hotel really seemed nice and modern, except for the thermostat. It was a horrible analog dial with no numbers on it whatsoever. That was really my only complaint and it was very minor. Just because the hotel is attached to the airport you should really leave for your flight way ahead of time. It takes at least 10 minutes to walk down the tunnel and then you have to get to the Elizabeth line, wait for that to arrive, and then ride quite a while to get to some of the other terminals. When I come back to the UK I will absolutely stay here again.

The hotel is situated near a few other airport hotels. I've stayed here a couple of times and it's been fairly painless: not too expensive, self check-in with minimal human interaction, and clean and quiet rooms. The rooms themselves have the bare necessities, including a water kettle, coffee, tea, TV, and towels. In addition, there's a full bar with various seating downstairs (which gets kind of rowdy), as well as a restaurant. I've eaten at said restaurant a few times, and the food is not bad at all! Their apps and curry dishes were pretty tasty. The only thing is that during peak travel times, service can be unusually slow. Apparently they also serve a breakfast buffet, though I've never gotten it because I have airport lounge access at Heathrow *flicks hair* My only first world gripe is that it is a long walk from when you get to Terminal 4 to the actual space of Premier Inn. We arrived late, around 9:30 PM, after leaving a hotel in downtown London, specifically because of its proximity to the airport. We left early the next morning, so our expectations were pretty simple: a comfortable night's sleep and a smooth trip to the airport. Regrettably, neither happened. The bed was in terrible condition. It was so worn out and broken down that we felt like we were rolling toward the edge during the night. A good bed is the most basic expectation of any hotel stay, and this one fell well short. The bathroom design was also less than ideal. The shower had only a half-glass door, so you had to be very careful not to get water all over the bathroom floor. The airport shuttle situation was equally frustrating. The hotel advertises an airport shuttle, which led us to believe it was a complimentary hotel service. We only discovered at the front desk that there was a fee and that it was actually operated by a third-party company rather than the hotel itself. The next morning, the shuttle arrived already crowded, and not everyone waiting was able to get on. In fact, some guests had been waiting since the previous shuttle because they had been left behind as well. Rather than risk missing our flight, we took a taxi to the airport. Judging by the number of taxis waiting at the hotel when the shuttle arrived, this seems to be a common occurrence. To be fair, the staff was polite and professional throughout our stay. The breakfast also looked very good and would have been complimentary for us as Diamond members. We chose not to eat there because we wanted to get to the airport early and planned to have breakfast in the airline lounge instead. Overall, this was not the experience we expected from a Hilton property. Between the poor condition of the bed, the awkward bathroom design, and the unreliable airport transportation, we would not stay here again. It was a short uber ride from the airport, and the place was SO cozy and perfect. We ate the best fish and chips of our lives at the restaurant and then hopped over (across the hall) to the pub for a few drinks before walking right up the stairs and going to bed. The bed was comfortable (although Americans- take note that a king size bed in the US is much bigger than a UK King. I'd say the UK king was closer to a queen). There was a gorgeous coffee/tea setup with a Nespresso machine and pods, an electric kettle, some teabags, and chocolates to pair with the coffee. We had a balcony overlooking the river which was gorgeous! Everything about this place was cozy, cute, and felt so English.

The Swan Hotel is a 16th century place of lodging sitting right beside the Thames. It's been refurbished to a stylish, immaculate inn with both a pub and a restaurant. Staines isn't a hotbed of activity so hanging out in the pub then stumbling up to your room is a very comforting plan. While it's true that a ball placed on the floor of my room would have rolled on its own (remember, 16th century building) it's also true that my room was a dream. With its luxurious bedding, mattress (1600 individual pocket spring mattress), and a French door that opened up to a tiny balcony overlooking the Thames River I'd have enjoyed staying longer. That such charm can be had for so little (rooms here can be had for about $125 per night) brings joy. The Swan Hotel is a Fuller property, a name I saw several times during my time in the UK. Based on my all-around excellent experience here I'd not just seek to stay here again but I'd also seek out other Fuller properties when returning to visit the rest of the UK.

The Tudor Pass restaurant, now helmed by Executive Chef Stefano Du Giosia, had just reopened after a short break, ad we were the first dinner guests under his watch. Maitre d'hotel Chris was a charming conversationalist as we waited for the 7-course tasting dinner, sharing much hotel history with us. The excellent wait staff included Alex, Rose, and Luka who were all truly professional. Stefano came out of the kitchen from time to time to chat with us, explaning the dishes and their origins, as well as describing how closely he and his staff work with the hotel's gardeners to sustainably source vegetables and fruits on site and meats from the best UK regions: local lamb, scallops from Orkney, trout from Chalk Stream, and more. The presentations were lovely and the flavors exquisite. Luxury farm-to-fork! Most of all, the dining experience was friendly and cheerful, not stuffy. We highly recommend The Tudor Pass restaurant, whether you are a guest at Great Fosters or just passing by.

We will go elsewhere where guests are treated better.

You can have coffee and hot chocolate anytime, and they have food they can warm up for you. I had been in Spain for 5 days eating yummy tapas but having Hong-style noodles was what I wanted - perfect! I borrowed a hair dryer too. Everything was so well thought out for your comfort, and it sure beats sleeping on an uncomfortable airport chair or trying to figure out the train into London when you are tired and just want to have somewhere to shower and lay down in comfort for awhile.
