We have been staying here for years and glade to say this was best visit we have had, slept great on the new king bed. Very nice to see all new upgrades in suit 303.

This was a great experience! The room was super clean and they were so accommodating for whatever we needed. The rooms were large in size! We had a lake view and it was a great way to wake up in the morning. We also loved we could utilize the balcony of our room and look at the lake

This place was run down. Our room was terrible. 1 star hotel. The desk chair was cracked and worn. Stain on the bedspread, scratched, beat up doors. Bed was torn on the bottom. I complained. The owner would not give me a credit or discount. That tells you a lot. Bad ownership... bad hotel. The room was a dump. I place people in housing for work and would never send someone there. The front desk person was very nice. That was my only positive takeaway.

Dirty stained tub, filthy hot tub and no towels at pool. We are IHC rewards members and it gets you the worst room in the hotel.

Filthy stained bathtub. Couldn't use hot tub because it was filthy also. No clean towels at pool at 5pm on a Thursday.

Great location. Clean. Friendly staff. Easy parking. The beds were a little hard for our liking but everyone is different. The view from our room was beautiful. So much yo do in the area. Not much in waking distance but plenty to do up the road a bit.

I was on a long road trip with my boyfriend and we decided that it was getting pretty late so we should just stop somewhere to recharge. When I called the front desk (nearly at midnight) they were very helpful and accommodating. They had rooms available and they didn't mind us coming in after a few hours late into the night. The room was less than $100 on a sunday. We could even see a bit of Lake Michigan through the window in the day time. The room was very clean and taking a shower was like the best thing ever. We got a nice hot breakfast the next day as apart of the amenities. Good times! I was happy we stopped here. The town of St. Joseph was very nice to visit as well. They were displaying ice sculptures and you could walk down to check out the lighthouse.

Our purpose for our visit to St. Joseph was to attend my sons wedding !! We checked in on Thursday afternoon after driving 3 hours and were met by 2 hostesses, Marianne & Teresa, quite promptly. We had a few laughs upon check in with these fine ladies which made the experience 5 stars for sure!! Great way to treat your guests ladies!! The lobby was clean and neat, full breakfast was also included from 6:30-9:30am. Our room was clean and neat also which included a view of the lake. It was a crisp, clear beautiful October day! The bathroom was clean and cleaned well over night as was the room! This hotel also has a great view of the lake! Great place to stay in the city of St. Joseph! Oh almost forgot... you can bring your ... DISCLAIMER: it must be made of stone!! They have a stone dog in the lobby. Also it was all I could do not to sit on the "merry go round" horse in the lobby but I did sit the car in the lobby!! Just me havin' a little fun!! Hahahaha!!! Can't have things like that around with ME around ... Also they have bike available to rent!! How cool is that?! Way to go guys!!

Stayed here for two nights on our way to Colorado. Holiday Inn Express is clean and taking full precautions for COVID-19. Must wear mask in common public areas. Pool & Fitness closed. Restaurant next door "The Lake House" owned by same, but under different management. Lake Michigan is across the street. Clear view of the sunset. Silver Beach about 2.5 miles down the road, easy access to beach, restaurants, shopping & free parking. This was a lower-priced accommodation option compared to B&B and the hotels right next to shopping. It was very easy & quick for us to get Benton Harbor/Silver Beach. Didn't feel like we were missing out on anything by not staying right in town.

Excellent experience! We stayed over Fathers Day weekend. The customer service from the reservations clerk to the house keeping staff was exceptional. Made us feel at home! Even when my son took ALL of the free cookies back to our room! (Sorry!). Rooms were clean and comfortable. Sunset view is one of the best in the area. Free breakfast was great and the restaurant next door was wonderful! We will be back!

Nice room. I didn't think to snap a photo until we were leaving.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay here. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. The room was clean and well maintained and the staff was courteous and professional. They had hot breakfast which broke down like this: Day 1: Veggie egg white omelets and sausage patties: meh Day 2: Scrambled eggs and bacon: awesome Day 3: Veggie egg white omelets and sausage patties: meh Every day, they had biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. If day 2 breakfast was served every day, it probably would have pushed it to a 5 star review. The pre-made "omelets" and sausage patties were very hospital food-like. They also had high chairs, which was huge for us, having a 10 month old. Seating was very limited, but there was spill-over seating in a few conference-type rooms connected to the lobby, one sharing a window with the pool. The view of the lake is some of the best sunset viewing in St. Joe. Very few room actually have a view (ours didn't), but there are a few picnic tables on the lake side of the road and you can also sit on the patio at the Lake House next door and have a cocktail. We will be back!

The hotel thought it was acceptable to start construction right outside my window starting at 7:00am. Totally inexcusable.

I can't say enough good things about this venue and staff. I wouldn't wish our Covid wedding planning stress on any bride and groom, but I will tell you from personal experience, Shadowland will stop at NOTHING to give you the best wedding reception possible! We were the classic "had everything planned out pre-Covid" story, so the Covid curveball really forced us to revise all our plans. Shadowland worked with the state on what the current guidelines were, and kept us updated with every change, giving us our options and telling us what to expect. Our venue wedding coordinator, Rysa, was so responsive with our questions, and truly made us feel like our wedding day was as important to them as it was to us. Having an August 2020 wedding, we were unfortunately constrained to an outdoor reception, and although it was crushing to not be able to us their beautiful ballroom, I cried happy tears when they informed us they would be putting up tents for us outside so we could still host our reception with them. With so many cancelations and changes, it was a huge relief to know they were still in our corner and not going to give up on us! Not only did they stick with us, but they went above and beyond to make sure it was amazing. One perfect example of their attention to detail was the color-coordinated bracelets they provided for guests to display their social comfort levels at the reception. This was a huge hit during an event where we had many guests of varied preferences. I would have never thought of this, but it made ALL the difference and was one less thing for me to worry about on our wedding day when we were giving out hugs and hellos. I will admit, even though we didn't choose it on purpose, the outdoor "tent on the beach" feel was actually pretty great! The guests loved being able to walk down for sunset pictures, and it was fun dancing under the stars. Fortunately for us, the one thing we did NOT have to change was our food choices because Shadowland provided all the catering. There were so many great meal options available at our tasting that it was actually hard to pick what to serve on our wedding day, and as expected, everything was delicious! We received many compliments on the food. Our wedding reception was absolutely perfect, even amidst the ongoing changes, and i know we have Shadowland to thank for making it possible.

I cannot say enough positive things about having our wedding reception at the Shadowland Ballroom…read more For starters, the staff is FANTASTIC. Nicole and Jasmine made the entire planning process so easy and fun. I didn't have a wedding planner or coordinator, so it was helpful to lean on Jasmine for questions or advice. She was organized, responsive, so sweet, and helpful. Even with my crazy type-A personality I was able to relax on my wedding day knowing Jasmine had everything covered. We had 150 people and the ballroom was a great size for that. We used the patio for cocktail hour, and that was a hit. We had a second bar on the patio for cocktail hour as well. The food was great; we got a lot of compliments and it was so easy to have catering through Shadowland. The ballroom was beautiful. The only thing I didn't love was the chairs at Shadowland, so I went with gold chiavari chairs from www.chiavarichairswedding.com and they were fantastic and really made the room look great. I recommend using their preferred vendor list. It was so nice to have vendors who were familiar with the staff and layout. We used Ben Pancoast photography and photo booth and Music Unlimited for our DJ. They were terrific. We rented the carousel for 1 hour and it was a HIT. Our wedding was 21+ and the adults loved it. We definitely needed the full hour for the 150 guests to get our photos done first. We also loved the Mock Wedding shadowland throws for their confirmed couples. It was a great way to meet vendors and see the space in action. THANK YOU Jasmine and Nicole for making sure my husband and I had a perfect wedding day. It really was the best.

The Veranda at the Whitcomb made our day wonderful. Pros: Their beautiful setting, wonderful staff, .. everything was absolutely fantastic. They help you plan everything in advance and you can be 100% sure that everything goes exactly as planned. Danielle will tell you what you need to do step by step. We really could not thank her enough ! CK catering is an award winning catering and the awards they have won they really really deserved." Leyla, the dinner was just too good ! ! !" was what I heard over and over during and after the wedding. Lil' Fox Bartending requires you to provide the alcohol but they will have all the mixers and everything else. This not only will save you a lot of money but will also allow you to have your favorite selection. They will help you through out the planning so you don't need to worry about anything. Make sure to check out their roof, they allow the couple and the photographer up there to take photos. The view up there is breathtaking and I am not exaggerating at all ! ! Cons: Unfortunately it was cold and we could not have the curtains open, and the curtains are rather old but besides that everything is perfect. Like I said we knew it is going to be cold and the curtains were necessary to keep it warm indoors. They also provide heaters which do a great time at keeping the place warm. They are a little loud though, but nothing annoying really. Anyhow if you get a chance to have your wedding before the cruel Michigan winter attacks, you should not go anywhere else. Check out their photos on facebook and you will not want to go any further.

Luckily it was not too cold on the day of the event and they had a bunch of heaters for us to use (and we rented a large tent heater). People were somewhat huddled around the patio heaters, but with them put together in the main area, it was fine. People were able to move around without their coats on and have a good time.
