Phew, can't tell you what a relief it is to have a clean room! Lately I've felt like The Holiday Inn was really falling off but walking in everyone was very welcoming and it was neat. The bar food looked good but I didn't get a chance to try it. However I did try the breakfast and it was pretty good! The bar stays open until a decent time in case you're arriving late and want to grab a drink or a bite to eat. The workout room was rather small and only had dumbbells, treadmill, elliptical, a bosu ball, and a bike. But at least they had a gym. My only con is I could hear when anyone left their room and got ice anddd although we had a decent view of the eway and beyond...it sounded like the 18 wheelers were in the room with us. read more

Disappointing Stay After a Long, Hot Day While the hotel lobby was visually impressive and gave a good first impression, unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The rooms were extremely outdated and had an unpleasant odor, making it hard to relax after a long day outdoors. To make things worse, only one very small elevator was functioning for the entire six-floor building, which made getting around both inconvenient and slow. The worst part of our stay happened after a sweltering day at a lacrosse tournament--we returned to find we couldn't access our room due to a faulty lock (not the key, the lock itself). It took over six hours and a finally a call the fire department--before we were finally let in. We lost our entire evening and missed all our plans. Despite the major inconvenience, the hotel only issued a partial refund. I expect better service, responsiveness, and basic functionality from any hotel, and sadly, this one fell well short. read more

In May of 2025, I made a reservation to stay at this hotel and canceled it within 48 hours to get a better price. Well guess the cancellation never went through, because I was charged the full amount for a two night stay when I've never set foot in this place. Hotels.com is a ripoff. This hotel is aging and needs to do some catch-up. We stayed here one night as I had an early surgery at the surgery center next door. We had a smooth check-in, and the front desk person did a nice job. The bed was very comfortable with nice soft sheets and an assortment of pillows, and we had a decent night's sleep. RRR had a very decent breakfast the next morning but had to pay $7 for it, so no free breakfast here! (And it would have been $9 if not purchased at check-in.) The downsides: we had 3 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth. We were able to go to the front desk for more linens, but that shows very poor attention to detail. Also, one of the towels was thin with strings hanging from the edges, and that was very off-putting. It made us wonder what else was slip shod. The other downside was hearing sounds outside our room. We easily heard people talking, NOT yelling, in the hallway outside our room. Also, when I got up early for my surgery, I could hear someone snoring softly nearby. So, what could they hear from our room? Also, there aren't enough USB outlets, a real need these days. So, not a horrible experience but also not great... hence 3 stars. read more

I'm visiting the U.S, I have been in many many hotels in the United States and around the world. I've never been treated by a hotel receptionist like in here. The lady who checked me in for some reason looked and talked like she was disgusted that she has to deal with me!! When she's done she just gave me the room's key letting me figure out what direction I should go. And when I asked her "where is the elevator?" she wasn't even looking at me when she answered and her voice tone was like (I'm too busy to answer a stupid question)! When I went to the room, the room was open and the bathroom was dirty!! How do you think they fixed that? Upgrade? Free night? Free meal? Proper apologize? Saying sorry? The answer is NO, they just changed the room to a similar one and telling me "it's ok take your time to move your stuff". On my way to check out the lady in the reception was busy with other customer so I went out to put my luggage in my car and I'll come back to check out. She shouted and everyone in the lobby was able to hear her (Sir. Are you checking out? I said yes. She said are you taking the keys with you?!!!) and everyone there looked at me as I'm stealing something! I don't know what's the hotel's management takes on that but the hotel receptionist mostly the first person a traveler will meet in a city. After this I'm still not sure if they hated me for some weird reason or if this is just the culture in Indiana state! read more

Go elsewhere... We checked into a room with a King size bed and a pullout sofa AFTER requesting a room with double beds and being told that we would be accommodated. Went to the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do. Really?! Then why confirm? I mean, seriously. The walls are INCREDIBLY thin. You could hear people and their conversations as they were walking by the room. The bed was not the best. Of course, it didn't help to have an extra adult size teenager in it with you. Stayed here over a long weekend in July 2023. The hotel was full. Our room was on the 5th floor facing the highway, near a stairwell which was initially a concern but did not prove to cause any issues. On arrival, we learned that hotel-wide carpet cleaning was in progress. Our room carpet had just been cleaned, so shoes were obligatory for the first day or so. This made the room feel musty and we had to keep the A/C running a lot. It's just the breaks though. We at least know that the carpet was cleaned. By the end of Day 2 it was dry. The beds were comfortable and room was dark enough for sleeping once we blocked the door gap with a towel; it let in a lot of light. Traffic noise on the 5th floor was not bad and helped provide white noise. Only one instance of hallway noise and despite a couple of sports teams on site, no issues. We were offered the option of pre-purchasing breakfast "vouchers" for half price, which essentially made the breakfast buffet a really good deal. Staff were extremely helpful and the atmosphere was pleasant. Good coffee (fresh!) and other items on request from the kitchen to distinguish from the free coffee made available to those who did not purchase breakfast. The facility itself could use some TLC. It's been there awhile, and the finishes, upholstery, etc. shows it. But pleasant, responsive staff and quiet sleeping, plus a perfect location for our needs, made it a successful stay for us. Had those not been true, I would have rated lower. Parking is plentiful and free. Late-night returns mean you must park further away, but it's not bad. As others have noted, to reach the elevators, the shortest distance is to go outside through the open courtyard which can seem weird. But you do not have to go that way, you can choose to go around (if it might be raining etc.). The only complaint about this is that the doors from the lobby into the courtyard, and then from the courtyard into the elevator area, are NOT automatic. You have to wrangle your luggage and maneuver through the doors manually. It would be GREAT if they could make those 2 doors have an auto-open function. (Perhaps this is not possible for security reasons?) read more

We decided to get a room while some rooms in our house were being painted-you know that whole social distancing thing in the middle of a pandemic. We wanted to make sure we were trying to stay safe, at the same time making our house look nice (shoulder shrug). Incidentally, we've been redoing the house for several yrs...slowed down a lot for obvious reasons-life! I noticed the parking lot seemed rather crowded but had no idea until I walked in to check-in (blank stare) I thought I walked into a huge, adult frat party-sprinkled with kids. First thought, is everyone having their house painted too LOL...way too crowded and def no social distancing. I think we were the stand outs with the masks (and staff)! I LOVE Indy and was looking forward to spending the weekend with my family and friends for a soccer tournament... They have one of the best facilities in the country (Grand Park) and we love playing there. I wish the same could have been said for this hotel... I called multiple times before getting there to confirm my room and that it could accommodate our family of 5. Of course, they confirmed my request of DOUBLE beds. Once there it was a completely different story... I checked in, went to my room and there I was with one king size bed and a couch... I went back to the front desk and told them about the mix up and that was my first encounter with Moustapha Bodian. I told him and the lady working alongside him about my request and he told me he would be right back. The lady said I had other options. I told her about my confirmation email and that I didn't mind paying for an adjoining room if double beds were no longer available... Moustapha came back and told me that was the only room they had available. I told him that I had an email confirmation showing double beds but, he told me that wasn't the reservation the hotel had down for me and that once again I had no other options... I asked to speak with a manger and Moustapha told me he was the General Manager of the hotel. I asked If I could purchase another room that would be adjoining and he said he had no other options for me... I pleaded once again, but the result was the same. Awesome! A family of 5 ready to spend the weekend in Indiana in a room with one bed, a pull-out couch and facing the highway. I could go on and on about this man and the hotel he runs. Later that evening I witnessed him threaten guests when the lobby was closing. He was yelling at them and had to be restrained by one of his employees... It was crazy! How can this man be allowed to run a hotel and be a senior employee of a corporate company like Holiday Inn? The man had true anger in his eyes and quickly became a threat to all the guest in the lobby. His ego is out of control and it's only a matter of time before something really bad happens. I've been in the customer service business for over 20 years and have never witnessed anything like it... What I do know is because of Moustapha I will NEVER stay at another Holiday Inn again... If a company is going to hire employees like Moustapha, then that's not a company I want to do business with... There are a ton of other options in the Carmel area which I will be trying in the future... read more

The fed rate is ok. Stayed on June 26 Location is right off the major interstate/highway. Issue with my stay. They water was turned off. I called the front desk and they didn't know what was going and was going to check with maintenance manager and they would get back to me. Waited Waited Waited several minutes later and no call. I had to go to work and needed to wash up. So I tracked down the housekeeper and she was going to ask what was going on. Waited Waited Waited Still no answer. I called the front desk and asked for status. They said oh there is a pipe broken and we can't do anything about it. I told them I had to get to work and need to wash up somehow. No sympathy or anything . When I checked in the front desk made smart comments about kids buying snacks and they said if they didn't have their parents they couldn't buy any of the snacks. Just stayed her for 2 nights while in town for work and they continue to upgrade the place. Comfortable room that is a good value-even when the employer is paying. Breakfast buffet is decent and pool area and patio are clean and comfortable. When the police are called to settle a desk dispute you know you are in the wrong place. Main issue customer service, and customer service. First a scratch off lottery ticket and phone cord came up missing from our room. Second going to breakfast on Friday of the holiday weekend at 945 (breakfast ends at 10) one of the servers complained loudly why is everyone coming down so late?? I'm sorry that's just rude. Third arrive back at the building to find the police trying to help a lady get her things because the desk attendant ordered her to leave. Conflicts that severe should be handled by anyone high up enough to soothe the issues. They get two stars because rooms were ok, and two of the servers were very nice and helpful. Stayed over July 4th weekend for a sports tournament. This hotel should come off the sports venues recommendations. read more

Not happy about the customer service and "rules". But first, I'll say that the hotel is clean and has some charm to it compared to others. Cooperate setting if you don't mind that. Stars for 4 days. My CONCERNS (and its been 3 days and the GM Bill Cherry has still not returned my call!): too many "rules" in the lobby/bar/lounge area and staff doesn't seem to know how or why to enforce them. I understand blocking a certain area off from underage kids (my teenager) but to prohibit complete access, prohibit outside food, and access to lounge area without constantly be told and reminded about "laws" and policies became tiresome. One of the nice features of this hotel is the large lobby/lounge area. For those of use traveling from the west coast, our working hours are different and to completely turn the lights out and have a security guard escort my from doing computer work at the lobby tables at midnight (they start to gradually dim lights 1030-11pm) is absolutely ridiculous and unlike ANY other hotel I have stayed in for work or with family. If you pride yourself in accommodating business travelers, you must realize that your midnight is 9pm my time! The courtyard is cute by tables and lighting is not conducive for work. Telling people that they must sit outside (sometimes in the rain) if outside food is being consumers is inconsiderate and extremely SELF SERVING. Again, the lobby / eating area is of generous size to accommodate everyone's needs. Breakfast was "adequate" with same food 4!days in a row. Wait staff was nice but greatly understaffed to the point silverware was not always available. The "rules" and process for using breakfast coupons and accessing tables was different every day. I was told coffee was available to guests but staff could barely keep up with water in the lobby. This was a problem because of the summer season and I was told at least once by a front desk worker where to find my own cups. Front desk workers could be friendlier and warmer upon guest entrance to lobby. read more

A Yelp review? For a Holiday Inn? Well, this isn't your ordinary Holiday Inn. Okay, the rooms are, the lobby is, and so's the restaurant. And the bar certainly *looks* ordinary enough. Like a lot of business hotels, the bar isn't a separate space, it's just a bar adjoining the lobby and the restaurant seating area, kind of tying the two together. Well, if you're lucky, you'll have a seat at the bar on a night that Kyle is working. He'll introduce himself immediately as he welcomes you to the bar like an old friend. I am a craft beer guy, and hotels, particularly chain hotels that cater to business travelers, are still notoriously behind the times when it comes to beer selections - not this one, though. Bell's was on tap and there was a nice selection of bottles - probably somewhere in the teens, representing a variety of good local, regional, and national brews. I like to drink local when I travel, and Kyle set me up with some really good choices. But here's the real reason for a Yelp review - you've seen the movie Cocktail, right? Instead of being proactive they were so reactive for no reason...We are here for a soccer tournament and they act like we are vandals.. huge group having fun in the lobby and they were being selective of who they served... ignored our group .. we waited awhile ... finally came around and started yelling because we didn't know what we wanted.. so after making a comment about the error stated we were in the wrong and decided to shut the bar down...30 plus people in the bar spending money and they said time to go.. bar closed at. 11 pm Fine rules are rules.. went to to common area and was informed we signed a waiver for quiet time and needed to be in our rooms by 11 pm... Really we are grown ass adults not being noisy and we need to go to our rooms./: We are locked in due to a soccer tournament but I ensure you will NoT refer this place and/ or be back to a Holiday inn.. Many other things beside this but to much to type.. Only allowed large families king with pull out even if we offered to pay more .. all for the Guaranteed.. money .. if you don't want to be part of soccer organizations then don't be part of the process read more

The stay was nice, staff was courteous. Both mornings we went down for breakfast. You had to wait to be seated... but no one came to seat us the first morning, so we ended up going elsewhere. The second morning we also had to wait, and by the time someone did come up, as we were walking to the buffet, the counter was an absolute mess. Again, we opted to go elsewhere. The property is nice, it's obviously been rehabilitated, but there are obvious signs of the age, such as the antiquated elevators. The very bad thing about the property is the total lack of sound insulation in the highway facing rooms. To say they are inordinately loud due to traffic noise would be a gross misunderstatement. To the point that they have put white noise machines in the rooms that, though it is a valiant effort to cover the noise problem up, they fall very short. The bottom line is the windows do not provide sound insulation, the walls do not provide sound insulation, which leads to a very poor sleep. I will avoid this location like the plague, & will write this same review on travel review sites as well to warn others about this poor property. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention a small detail - I had to get up early to catch my flight out of IND & had no hot water for my shower. NO HOT WATER! I know the reason - it's an old property & doesn't have a recirculating hot water system - which was reinforced by the front desk accompanied by only a cursory "sorry". Yep, this is one crappy property that reflects really well on the Holiday Inn logo... read more

We were lucky to be invited to attend the grand reopening party. We have no affiliation with the hotel but live in Carmel so were anxious to view hotels close by for visiting family. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but surprisingly convenient to 465 N Meridian St exit. (head to 103rd St and hang a right onto Pennsylvania) The hotel put on an upbeat, engaging Las Vegas themed party with complimentary drinks, appetizers, dinner in the courtyard and a delectable dessert table. We took the tour and viewed the 3 room types. Great price for the quality and amenities. A few tips: 1) Check in on yelp to receive 500 priority club points, 2) all rooms have fridge and microwave,3) the pool is handicapped accessible with a remote chair lift, 4) a pass to Five Seasons is available for hotel guests, 5) government rates available, and 6) complimentary wi-fi. The decor was nicely done with a modern spa feel and lots of little nooks for relaxing and chatting throughout the lobby. Plenty of televisions throughout the lounge. The courtyard was lovely with multiple seating areas of big comfy couches and chairs, plus tables with umbrellas. The hotel boasted a very nice pool, hot tub, and work out facility. The staff were exceptionally friendly and answered all of our questions knowledgeably. David Ranalli was a magician entertaining the guests. He was amazing. He stopped by our table and performed several tricks. I was like a child with the oohhs and aaahs. Really fun addition to the party. Pop in also provided several varieties of highly addicting popcorn (beer cheese, & carmel with nuts were our favorites). Overall, a great addition to Carmel and will be on our list of recommendations for visitors read more

We attended a nearby meeting and stayed here using points so the price was right. I have mostly frequented another hotel chain so I haven't stayed at too many Holiday Inns for quite a while. First the negatives: Easy to see from the highway but we had to pass by, exit I-465 to 31 north, go through some construction, and double back to get to the hotel entrance. Getting to our room I felt confused by the layout and had to watch the signs to not make a wrong turn. Immediately outside our room window was the highway and fairly constant highway noise, although not as bad as another reviewer made it sound IMO; kind of tuned it out after a while and it didn't prevent me from sleeping. If this is a big deal to you, ask for a room away from the highway. There was no included breakfast because it is a full service Holiday Inn, I was told. So I will need to do my homework better in the future. Internet performance was OK but the connection dropped sometimes. As for the positives: clean and comfortable room and bed, clean bathroom (I know, these are expected, but sometimes...), nice shower, coffee maker (put the coffee packet in properly or the water goes around it and you get very thin tasting coffee), refrigerator, microwave. The staff at check in were very nice, polite, and efficient. If I am in the area again, this hotel would make my list of possible places to stay, especially if I have more points to use then. read more

This hotel was clean. Has some minor flaws in different rooms. I stayed here quite a bit. I would definitely tell them that you want a room opposite side of the interstate if you're a light sleeper. My poor review is because they have no security cameras. Spend millions building these hotels and skimp on security. So my truck got stolen while in the parking lot. 100 feet from the building. It was later recovered severely torn up. But the point is, they need surveillance badly. read more

A very clean and very well maintained hotel at a decent price. This Holiday Inn is a good place to stay while in Indy and the only major downside to staying here is the internet access. The room wifi is awful. Both times I stayed here I could not even get 1mbps down even once. It's like using dial up all over again. Was not able to stream any kind of video and pages load painfully slow. So if having solid internet for yourself or the kids is important to you then you might wanna find somewhere else to stay. I have heard some people complain about staying on the side of the hotel that faces the interstate being loud at night but I can't say I experienced that. I could not even hear the noise of the traffic at all. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are good, though the shower takes a bit of time to get warm. Overall this is a pretty nice place to stay, with a friendly staff and clean rooms. If you don't mind the painfully slow internet then you will enjoy your time here. read more

I have had the worst experience with any hotel chain I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Their people have no customer service expertise, and I cannot imagine the way I have been treated in this day and age. I was lied to, given numerous different rates some higher than others, transferred all over their system, all for rate that I was given before. Their price guarantee rate is a sham. They say that they will match any price on the web and after filling out their forms and going by their guidelines they told me that the rate and where I got it from, which was on the web, was invalid. Nowhere on the website did it state these terms and conditions. Also, when talking to a supervisor a loud computerized tone went through my earpiece and into my ear. I was unable to hear for a few minutes it was such a high pitch. I have been dealing with Holiday Inn and their hotels for the last five years Ann have never been treated so poorly. what I was asking for was nothing outrageous and spend 3 hours on the phone with them, being put on hold, transferred, and lied to is unacceptable in this day and age. I asked for someone at corporate to call me and I have yet to hear from them. Another item was that if I cancel my current reservation my cash will be turned into points because I am cancelling the reservation. nowhere in my confirmation email or on the website does it state that this will happen.
