Checked in and was optimistic about basic accommodations. After sitting at desk in room for 30 min working, I had a few ants on my arm. After looking around there were ants all over the place and noticed floor also hadn't been vacuumed. Was moved to a room that was over smoking area thus every time AC unit kicked on my room smelt like smoke. Now this is the weirdest one, I went to pick up phone to call front desk and water or some kind of liquid ran out of handset. Ugh! It is a pet friendly hotel which obviously had cats staying in room as woke up with Asthma. I travel a lot and this is one of the craziest experiences. I give it two stars as the staff was friendly and fitness center was pretty good. read more

Very disappointed each time we've one in here. I don't know why we keep trying to let them prove us wrong. The property is attractive, the public restrooms are nice. And it ends there. This time I prepaid for my son's wedding night, booked it in his name. I had the confirmation that the reservation went thru but... When my son arrived they tried to make him pay for the room again. They could see it was prepaid but claimed for security they needed him to pay. Then they walked away. Came back and said if they could speak to me they would straighten it out. My son got me on the phone, she walks away again. Then decides that if they can fax me some release forms that I would need to fill out they would let him stay on the prepaid reservation. Who has a fax anymore? I live 15 min away so I drove down. The desk clerk and manager were condescending and rude to my son and his new bride so now they just want to leave. I ask for the manager and she tries to tell me all hotels do this and if I'd booked through Expedia this wouldn't have happened. I booked thru Holiday Inn! So if they had taken my order from some u known third party app it would gave been ok but since it was booked thru their own system and bank verified they would not. Did they call me? No. Was there a warning on the site or confirmation? No Repeatedly the manager says I should have called her directly. How would anyone know this? There's no directions telling me to call. She just shrugged and repeated that if I had called her she would have let me know. Then says it's really the owners policy, the franchisee, not Holiday Inn's policy. My son and his wife are starting their honeymoon at our house tonight. Tomorrow they will be at another resort with some class. One who called me, verified the reservation for my son and asked if there was anything they might need. I won't do business with these clowns again. Other Holiday Inns yes but not this location. read more

Honestly, this stay had problem after problem. We are Gold Elite Members, so stay at Holiday Inns quite often and generally don't have the issues we've had. Day one started with getting to our room, just to learn there's a teen baseball tournament in town and the hotel was full of kids. We asked if we could be moved away from them, but the hotel was booked - which explains why we paid almost $200/night for the weekend (for this area and hotel seems pretty expensive). Night one was just as loud and coming from above us now. Kids upstairs running, stomping, and being completely inconsiderate. Morning day two we woke up to the running and stomping which was awesome. We came back in the afternoon to shower and get ready for dinner, wanting to beat the dinner crowds. This is when I found there was no blow dryer in our room, so I called for one. After 20 minutes - nothing. So I called again. Another 20-30 minutes ago by - nothing. So he calls and they tell him they can't find a blow dryer. So at this point I have waited over an hour for a blow dryer and ended up going to dinner with wet hair - not ideal. Night two same running, stomping and again our final morning. We tried to mention the noise to stuff multiple times, but it was never addressed. As for the room - our king bed had a queen comforter on it. The shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were all different brands and scents. The air conditioner sounds like somebody dropped something in it, so it rattled and made a horrible noise anytime it was on. Breakfast was pretty standard for a Holiday Inn. Overall, very disappointed in this stay and will find a new hotel next time are are in town. read more

The hotel is nice, clean, and spacious. We stayed one night while passing through and it was fine for that. The pool was clean, but no pool towels available at the time. Front desk staff friendly, but not always present/available. Worst part was the restaurant in the hotel. I hope Holiday Inn reads the reviews of the restaurant because the restaurant clearly is not reading them. Plan on Door Dash or dining out. read more

Very nice - clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Will go again as long as they reimburse the 'incidentals fee' they charge straight up. We stayed in October of 2023 and were told it would be 3-5 days to get our $50 back. It's over 5 weeks later and still no reimbursement. We are seniors, no pets - no parties - should be no problem in getting 'our' money back. NOTE TO OTHERS: Always check for your reimbursement- it's quite common to not get the money back from many different hotels. Quite the money-maker for them!! read more

Recently booked several rooms for a wedding in Joplin. This Holiday Inn was apparently opened recently. Wow, this is a great hotel. Beautiful rooms, great showers, comfortable beds (with a bunch of pillows). USB and plugs everywhere. A restaurant in the lobby had a decent breakfast spread. I didn't try it for dinner but hopefully it's up to the standards of the rest of the hotel ! One more thing, the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Kudos to Holiday Inn. My only criticism is it's a little hard to get to, and the signage is confusing at best. But that doesn't diminish my rating!! Highly recommended read more

I'm more of a ritz Carlton kinda guy, however, we stayed here on a road trip from la to Cleveland. This place was CLEAN AS HECK! Our hotel was immaculate and not a single thing felt unclean or unsanitary. The bathrooms in the actual hotel on our way out were kept beautifully. Our hotel room beds were comfy and the bedding was comfortable. We were happy! read more

What a great stay at the Joplin Holiday Inn. It was the midway point on a long road trip from Minnesota to Texas and a welcoming, safe place to stay after a long day's drive. This hotel is brand new and very clean. We got a great night's sleep. Before we hit the road in the morning we completed a workout in their gym which had everything we needed for a little strength and cardio. Finally, we enjoyed their breakfast which was outstanding (make sure to try the chef's omelets made to order:) Overall, the hospitality is outstanding and they went out of their way to accommodate us! The hotel is fairly new, only about a year old. Rooms were nice and clean. We got a king and was expecting a sofa bed but there was a trundle bed instead. Would be perfect but we have triplets so the sofa bed would have been a better fit. The pool is nice and is supposed to be heated but it didn't seem to be and the room wasn't heat either. Our girls swam for a bit but there lips turned blue and they were shivering. The attached restaurant/bar is good. The kids meal prices are reasonable and it convenient to have it in the hotel. Not sure if we would stay again just because the pool wasn't warm enough and we use as a treat for our kids after 10hrs of driving. read more

Our stay at the Holiday Inn was a pleasant one. Our rooms were clean and bright. We required a room with a sleeper couch, but they didn't have one available. The gal at the desk was very helpful in finding a solution. They offered us a room (at the same price) across the hall for my son to stay in. Beds were very comfortable and the sheets were super soft. The rooms felt humid most of the time, but I think that's any hotel you stay in. The gals at the front desk were always pleasant and greeted you when you came in. Always a nice addition. The housekeeping staff was accommodating with the request that we had. Super friendly staff. The front desk even looked up a Chinese restaurant for us. Very clean. However, there wasn't any assurances they were taking the recent surge in Covid cases in the area seriously. No one was wearing masks, there was nothing in the room to indicate assurance it had been disinfected. They did allow me to check in 3 hours early. The restaurant was out of apple strudel after making us hungry for it. They were also out of boneless wings. There was absolutely no streaming service in the room and the television guide was saying "no information available" on the screen. Joplin isn't a booming town on a Sunday night, we just wanted to stay in and watch a movie. Overall, it was a good stay. Not great. read more

This hotel could not have been more friendly, helpful, and courteous. The rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. We called ahead of our check in for help in finding a local dealer for our car. They looked it up for us, had directions ready when we checked in - gave us free breakfast, and a discount on dinner. They were so incredibly kind and helpful. Even the restaurant staff for dinner and breakfast were very accommodating and genuinely kind. We were so impressed and can't rave enough about each individual working at this hotel. They took care of us in a somewhat stressful time. Big thanks to everyone at the hotel! Stayed 7/11-7/12 for one night during travel stayed in room 232. I woke up to a large bed bug IN MY FACE on the corner of the sheet. It was large and after review online it was a bed bug in its last stages of life which meant more including eggs in the bed. I took a shower and sat in the chair watching tv for the rest of the night waiting for my ride in the morning to finish traveling. This means this hotel is not up to standards on cleaning especially during Corona and I wouldn't be surprised if Corona wasn't present in their hotel. They refused to send me a invoice via email and only charged my credit card. I have contacted their corporate office 3 times via phone and email with no to little communication and help. I have requested a full refund for my stay since I had to take precautions not take the bed bugs home to my family and children but no guarantee which means possible drs bills and pest control bills. I am beyond grossed out and need to WARN EVERYONE. THIS IS NOT OKAY AND THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR PART IN CLEANING AS NEEDED WHEN THEY SHOULD BE CLEANED MORE IN DEPTH DURING THESE TIMES. Their Corporate office is a joke. ROOM 232 and it was in bed closest to the bathroom which really doesn't cause if one has it they all do. read more
