Our room overlooks Sydney harbor, is well appointed and very comfortable. Well stocked minibar, and a water boiler and real cups. In room safe for keeping any gold bars you might have brought along. The view is impressive, too!

The Bad: * Noise- the street noise can be pretty intense thanks, in large part, to Sydney Busses. And our room wasn't even facing Glebe Point Rd, but an adjacent, seemly quitter street. Nonetheless, the constant drone of busses made sleep a little difficult, and television volume impossible to control! * Internet charges- if you're like me, free wifi is a big bonus, and something I think we have all come to expect for free in certain places. We checked out the menu online and it seemed okay. I'm not sure if it's a real hotel or not, but we went there to eat. When we got to the pub, we visited all three floors and couldn't find a place to sit. We decided to leave, but on our way down checked the first floor again for a table. Alas, there was one being vacated. It is a pub, and it seems to be popular for the after-work crowd. So, it's very noisy but still possible to have a conversation. We ordered the calamari appetizer; the lamb mince pie that came with mashed potatoes, gravy, and peas; and the fish and chips that also came with peas. The calamari was hot and crispy and very delicious. The fish and chips were really good. But the fish really needed some malt vinegar, something they don't offer. The mince pie was divine, succulent and seasoned just right. The best thing, though, were the chips (AKA French fries). They're probably the best French fries I've ever had. Apparently they're bought frozen, fried, and then coated in some sort of salt and seasoning before being served. I scarfed down more than my share without any ketchup (also not available). The appetizer and two meals cost about 70 Australian dollars. Probably cheaper than a couple of drinks (which seemed to average more than $20 each). We made sure to drop a 10-note in the tip jar for the very friendly and efficient staff.

Never used pool or gym... but did snag some pool towels for our trip to the beach.... shhhh.... (we did return them, I swear!). Nice cold flavored spa water in the lobby. If you arrive early they let you check in if your apartment is ready, otherwise they will hold your bags & even have them in the room when you get back. Quick service when requesting extra blankets, towels, etc. they do BASIC cleaning, unless you ask for extra. Literally 60 seconds from George St & the Town Hall light rail & subway stations. 7 minute walk to Darling Harbor or Chinatown, 2 stop subway stops from Circular Quay (Opera House, ferries, etc).

I couldn't figure out the washing machine and they sent someone immediately when just telling me over the phone would've been fine. While the technician was showing us how to work the machine, he noticed that one of the bathroom lights were burnt out and changed it immediately I guess if I had to complain about one thing, it would be that the shower is a bit small and the water temperature was hard to control; it kept getting WAY too hot, but it was fine. First of all, the location is superb as it's a short walk to the Darling Harbour and a large mall, both of which offer extensive dining choices both inside and on the patio. The friendly culture of the staff at this hotel cannot be emphasized enough. We found the front desk and door and bellman folks to be downright warm and super accommodating. They also have this mysterious way of knowing your name and anticipating your needs. I do know they wear subtle headsets so they send secret messages to other staff, to help you most efficiently. We received a few gifts for special occasions, with handwritten, personalized messages. How many hotels HANDWRITE anything? Before I arrived, my flight had been cancelled so my arrival was a day later. I had emailed the hotel to make sure to hold my room. Their response was super friendly and personal. This culture maintained itself the entire time, from front desk, lobby door, to poolside. The room, as another wrote earlier on Yelp, is a unique purple theme with ultra modern touches. I found the TV high resolution and perfect, the Wi-FI fast and excellent, with all kinds of plugs and outlets available, including an adapter. The hotel provides lush velvety robes (I loved wearing it) and slippers, plus high end soaps and amenities. It's true they have no real clothing drawers, the one thing that could be improved. The closet is large, but we stayed for an entire week, so we needed more space. The room features floor to ceiling windows, with automatic drapes that open or close at the touch of a button. The room has MORNING, NIGHT and EVENING buttons that control the lighting (and OFF, of course), plus a few buttons to customize the lighting experience, which took a bit of adjusting. They also had a Privacy light and a Leaving Room light (which was probably the signal to the staff to clean the room). The cleaning was wonderful on a daily basis, and I noticed the sheets were changed daily. How did I know? One day they were solid, the next day they had subtle stripes in the fabric. The sheets were really comfortable and silky cotton (a super high thread count) and we loved the bed and pillows. All super high quality. We would come back to the room, finding our shoes neatly laid out in a long row, our toiletries organized neatly and all the amenities refreshed. I loved the tea and Nespresso, provided daily along with delicate glass tea cups and milk/sugar, etc. The shower featured both a large rain shower head PLUS the handheld European type shower so it served all preferences. And there were shower hooks right outside the shower for customer convenience. Our room overlooked the inviting pool (which was wonderful; we used it), and the room was very quiet. We never heard any noise from the hallway or other rooms. The hotel has a bar that we didn't use but saw it packed on the weekend and also offers a breakfast. We ate there our last day there and it was a terrific experience. Every item was unique, not just the same ol' pastries. Plus some Asian foods were offered as well. I loved it. Open your mind to new foods and enjoy a delightful continental breakfast there. The hotel is also adjacent to a hallway area leading to a complex including a casino (The Star), and you can find many fast foods (sushi, Greek, Chinese dumplings, inc cream, grilled foods) along the way. The hotel is in a great location. I took a few photos, including some of the staff, which I'll dig up and share here. We loved our stay at this unique hotel, with its friendly staff so eager to make your stay the best ever.

Shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap are great - lathers and cleans. Enjoyed their coffee. Enough space for 2 peeps. Doesn't feel cramped with 2 luggages spread out. The lay out was well designed. I like the built-in sleeves. Very functional and keeps things tidy. Bed is comfy. They don't provide free water. Not a big deal. The hotel is close to supermarkets. To top it all, breakfast is free! Buffet style. Will fill you up and get your morning going. Downside? Exactly the same food for 2 consecutive mornings. Can't say on the 3rd since our flight is very early. No time for breakfast on the 3rd day.

This hotel is simply perfect…read more Location:: Perfect! The hotel is easy to get to from the airport using public transportation. Just buy an Opal card and take the train to Central Station. Ask someone to point you in the direction of the light rail. Take the light rail to the Convention Center stop. Once there walk into the adjacent parking garage. Take the elevator to the fourth floor as if you're going to Novotel. Walk through the parking garage until you hit Murray St. and the hotel will be across the street from you. After you've checked in you can go back through the fourth floor of the parking garage to the walking bridge that will take you to the harbour and shops. You can walk all over town from this central location... across the Pyrmont Bridge, over to Chinatown, a relatively short walk to Circular Quay... it's really a great location. Swag and free stuff: Amazing! When you book on their website you get free happy hour at their bar, everything in the mini bar is free, free breakfast, free loot bag of snacks, free tote bag to swing around town or load up a few extra gifts for home. Lots of goodies! Attention to detail: Never better! From the spare toilet paper that reads "who gives a crap" to the frame hanging in the lobby for people to take selfies with, this place is fun and interesting. I found myself wanting to explore the hotel as much as I wanted to explore Sydney. Food: Nice spread! They had a really nice continental breakfast spread in the morning... lots of fruits, breads and pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, a variety of juices, and a coffee machine. I think there would be something there for everyone but if that didn't suit your fancy you could also pay for other breakfast options from the kitchen or coffee bar. Literally the only downside I came across was that the walls were thin so I could hear a lot of noises from the hallway and laundry room. So pack some ear plugs!
