The Good:
* $99 for a standard room. Pretty inexpensive considering its proximity to the city, and I have yet to find anywhere in Sydney that can compare to the price and quality of these rooms. Definitely a hidden treasure!
* The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and shower was hot.
* Conveniently located within walking distance to the city, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel relaxed.
* $15 secure, undercover parking- a definite bonus in Glebe, where street parking is scarce and expensive.
* 24-hour friendly and helpful reception service
* A small, but beautiful outdoor pool area (heated in winter).
* DVD player in room, with one free rental, and $5 for each additional rental.
The Bad:
* Noise- the street noise can be pretty intense thanks, in large part, to Sydney Busses. And our room wasn't even facing Glebe Point Rd, but an adjacent, seemly quitter street. Nonetheless, the constant drone of busses made sleep a little difficult, and television volume impossible to control!
* Internet charges- if you're like me, free wifi is a big bonus, and something I think we have all come to expect for free in certain places. The staff at New Haven are obviously not aware of this because their rates are ridiculously expensive.
