This review is mainly for the EV users looking to recharge overnight. We chose this hotel over the dozen other options (at equal star level and near half the price of this Holiday Inn ) within 10 minutes because of the EV convivence but this backfired for us. Although two EV chargers are available, they're owned by a third party and cost 50¢ per kWh! Needless to say, we paid extra for this hotel and ended up charging elsewhere anyway. The hotel is clean, modern, and looked like you could utilize conference rooms and outdoor pool but were driving through (arrived 9pm and left at 7am) so we didn't use any amenities. I rate this stay as ok because it's on the pricey side for what you get (we paid about $200 after tax for a Thursday). Breakfast isn't included and comes at an extra cost, which feels a bit stingy given the room rates. Overall, a comfortable bed and conveniently off the interstate, but not the best value. read more

Don't stay here unless you want to risk your stuff being stolen. I stayed here for work over multiple weeks and left a disc set in my room that was quite valuable to me. I ended up calling the next day to hopefully get it returned to me. They said that they would check the lost and found as I stayed on the phone but were unable to give me any information on it. There was no follow up or help in locating the particular staff that would have worked on my floor and that cleaned my room and I have had to reconcile the loss of my personal items that I can't just buy again. Stayed here for a few night during a training conference, and my stay was EXCELLENT! My room was wonderfully Spacious and exceptionally Clean. The staff was Super Friendly, Professional, and Courteous! In the lobby, there is a restaurant that serves a very exceptional steak! I was very surprised with the quality of food here! My steak was "Da Bomb" Excellent...perfectly cooked and seasoned. The breakfast buffet was also Great. In addition, there was also a bar that served up an Awesome Bloody Mary! I would give 0/0 for this if I could. The pictures look great and so does the lobby, but once you step outside of the lobby it's absolutely dog water. It's was so hot in the hallway and elevator, we looked at the ac unit that was right next to our room for the hallway and it didn't work. Inside our room the sheets had white stuff all over them. There were stains all over the floor. And the windows looked like they have never been cleaned. We paid $130+ for a single night, not to mention they didn't offer free breakfast. My stay was meh. The check in process was quick. My work laptop would not connect to the internet for some reason. The room was clean. Wish they had an updated TV. Like a Smart TV where you can log on your own account. The drain in the tub was not working properly and the water was rising as I showered. I never saw anyone at the restaurant. I was surprised breakfast wasn't included but I guess you get what you pay for. Overall I probably wouldn't stay here again if I'm ever in the area. read more

Another Hotwire score! We had been planning family weekend at Baylor University for months! I had made reservations for this weekend months in advance because of the popularity of this event and we were excited about attending it and enjoying all the activities planned! But the only thing about these special event weekends are that most of the hotels raise their prices significantly because of the demand! Literally if we stayed in Waco, we would have spent at least $300 a night for something like a Residence Inn! No kidding! So because of that, many months ago, I opted to search for more sensible pricing in Temple Texas which was about 35 minutes away from Waco. Doing a search on Hotwire at the last minute I was able to find this one! Hotwire makes it fun a lot of times because you really don't know which place you're going to end up with. You only know the price and amenities the property offers. But for the 4 times we have used it we have always ended up with a great deal! I would highly recommend this property if you are ever in the Temple Texas area! Checking in we were greeted warmly by 2 very nice young men. Jeff and Jake. They accommodated our request for a quiet room away from the freeway and addressed all our requests with a great attitude! We were definitely pleased at the attentiveness of the staff and warm and welcoming feeling we felt! The room was very nice! Everything was clean and fresh and the beds were so comfortable! I slept so well after a day's events! The facilities themselves are bright and contemporary and my family really liked the pool! The pool is outdoors and has these cabanas pool side equipped with comfortable couches and chairs and even TVs! If visiting our daughter at Baylor in the future we would definitely check this place out again! I would leave no star if it were an option. I stayed one night this week after a family emergency. If I had not been exhausted I would have left. The room smelled damp and the beds felt damp too, probably from the condensation coming off the air conditioner which was set on 65 when I arrived. The first bed looked clean except for the sheets and pillows feeling damp. The second bed had noticeable stains on the bed skirt. I was woke in the morning by housing at 8:15am pounding on my door and before I could tell them I was there they attempted to entry the room (check out is noon). The housekeeper was relentless and told me I had to inform her when I was leaving or she would just keep coming back and knocking on my door. So much for getting some rest. The do not disturb sign was on the door. Also, there was no bath soap in the room. I requested to speak to management and was informed they were unavailable at the time but would contact me....I'm still waiting. What I paid for that stay was over priced. This place is a nightmare. We tried to check in and were told they were going to cancel our reservation because I wasn't 21 and the hotel was in my name. Firstly, if I'm old enough to pay for a room, I should be able to check in. But we got checked in anyway and after the front desk man was rude for the entire process we got to our room and had no problems there. But every other time we had an interaction with the staff, they were extremely rude. You have to pay for breakfast, so we went to breakfast and there was none. We were told the cook had to leave. And the lady at the front desk while checking out was also extremely rude. Seriously if there's a different hotel, go to that one. Also it's 106 degrees and we really wanted to swim but the pool was closed. read more

Got a room here off Priceline, to my surprise, they were unable to put us in a king room. There are 17 cars in the parking lot... Got into our double bed suite to quickly find scratched and stained headboards, bloody boogers on the end table, and a broken drain in bathroom. Needless to say, not impressed. I stayed here for 6 days for a work training. The staff was so friendly and they're used to our company having teammates stay there so they made sure they had all the stuff they needed so that everyone was tended to. I appreciate the hospitality of the hotel and I think that Not only was their service great but the rooms were wonderful. Every time I came back after long day my room was very clean my bed was made up and it made me feel great knowing that I can just relax in comfort and cleanliness. If I'm ever in the area again I know where I can stay. I appreciate all they did for us! read more

I spoke with Sara, the GM of this hotel regarding my mother's mistaken booking. She is over 60 years old and booked the wrong location the night before. They refused to let her out of her booking without offering a transfer or showing any leniency. It's pathetic their customer service and lack of heart during a pandemic. How can you take money from a sweet old lady!!!!!!!!! I would give zero stars if i could. Their inability to let her transfer to the same hotel chain makes all of holiday inn look bad. I stayed here while on business and this was a solid hotel choice. It's conveniently located off the freeway (without too much noise), and close to downtown and many nearby restaurants. The exterior of the hotel indicates that the inside is well maintained (which it is), and overall it has a nice atmosphere. They have a bar and restaurant in the lobby which is convenient, and a nice outdoor pool if it's that time of year. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. For the price this hotel provides great value. read more

I am so ANGRY!! So I made Hotel reservations on the App at Holiday Inn Temple-Belton. I thought I had made them for the next 2 days, however I did not and only made it for 1 night CLEARLY MY FAULT! I just received a call from the Hotel informing me that my stuff was still in the room and I needed to come pick it up. I told the person on the phone Stephanie who by the way is very rude and needs extensive customer service training that I wanted to talk with a manager, she said she was going to give me a number and have the manager call me back, as I was still speaking she hung the phone up. I immediately called back and asked her why did she hang up in my face, she replied " maybe it was a bad connection". I told her no ma'am you intentionally hung up the phone. Honesty is most important to me. This hotel lacks that. I am a disabled veteran and requested a military rate. The clerk said that I would get one which never happened. The hotel charged me full rate and failed to give me a receipt. It appears that veterans are not on their list. The room that we were assigned had some dirty sheets that were not acceptable. I've stayed here several times and was in town on business. When I checked in they ask me to show them my "orders" to confirm the government rate I'd booked online. As I had done before I showed them my government I.D. and told them in my part of the government we don't travel with "orders". I asked what might substitute for orders and they did not have an example. There was no manager on duty at 5pm on a Friday - only a clerk. I declined to pay their jacked-up rack rate and went to the nice Hilton in Temple and paid less than their original rate. Goodbye Holiday Inn. read more

Second time staying here but definitely won't be our last. We come in to town on holidays to see family and this place has been amazing both times we have stayed. It is understandable for the restaurant bar/restaurant to have limited hours and staffing on these days so employees may spend time with their families as well. Trisha has served us both times and has been so friendly and accommodating it makes me smile just writing about it. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is good, it is right off the highway and not too expensive. I noticed this time that there are also private cabanas available at the pool area. Stayed here during my Texas vacation. The staff was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel was neat and clean. It's not much to do in the area so I swam almost everyday. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. I only ate there for breakfast. Try the citrus pancakes. And the breakfast waitress, I wish I could remember her name (the one without glasses), was unbelievable. My second day for breakfast she had remembered what I like to drink and since I had regular pancakes the first day she recommended the citrus pancakes this day. If holiday inn is reading this, your staff at this hotel is what you want at every one of your hotels. Also, can I get the citrus pancake recipe. read more

We booked our stay 2 months in advance using the Police officer rate. We were never told that we needed official orders to utilize the rate. We stated through their reservation hotline that we were coming in town on a cheerleading competition and never once did they state that we could not use the discount. We arrive at the hotel and we were told that we could not use the $85 rate and had to put the going rate $260 per night, which is more than we were expecting to pay when we arrived. We had two rooms by the way. The Manager on Duty at the time Kal was not helpful at all. The front desk agent who was assisting us misspoke and stated that they called everyone before their arrival who were using government rates and let them know that they had to bring in documentation. When we stated that we did not receive a call, he retracted his statement and said they only called military. When I confronted them in a calm manner another agent Katie decided to get involved and was very rude from the beginning. She stated that we could always find another hotel and I stated that we just drove in from San Antonio, it's almost 9pm at night and with it being a busy weekend she knew their wasn't any available rooms in Temple and that it would be stupid of us to up and decided to cancel our rooms and leave. She then looked at the Kal and said "he called me stupid I don't think you should let them him stay here". This irritated me and I went left. I asked Kal why did he not correct her when he clearly knew that I never called her stupid and she was trying to cause a scene. When I called her out she then proceeded to walk off knowing that she was wrong. Upon her return she could not look my way because she knew she was wrong. They were not trying to help us out at all. This was a terrible experience at this hotel. I've been to this hotel before and never had this problem before. You all have to have better communications when it comes to situation like this. I've looked on the website that Kal himself brought up on my phone and all that was stated was that we needed proof of eligibility. We showed the peace officer credentials that we were told on the phone that we needed and they said we could not use that. If you need more than that, that should be listed on your website and needs to be communicated throughly to customer through your reservation system. To show up to your hotel and be told that we have to pay more than three times the amount we were expecting to pay is very unacceptable, especially for hotel of your caliber. I will be reaching out to your corporate office on this matter as well. read more

I am from Austin and normally stay at another hotel, but based on reviews I wanted to give it a try before booking a group event here. I would not recommend this hotel. The property is clean, but the environment was not welcoming. One girl who checked me was still there the next morning. I wanted to book a group at this hotel but Sara took one week to return a phone call and then was very rude to me on the phone. I then called the Holiday Inn Express and they were much better. Sara was very short and sounded like she wanted to end the conversation fast. I am a big supporter of IHG but would never book a group here or stay at this hotel again. I thought I would get much better service but I'm glad that I stayed here before booking my group event here. read more

Unfriendly front desk. They were incompetent when checking is in. The room had been paid for that morning by a friend that was hosting a party. When we arrived, the front desk said something was wrong with the payment and I needed to call the host to get her credit card. I refused and explained how inappropriate that is... and I was told I needed to pay for the room myself. They also attempted to tell me they didn't have a room ready... but my friend has already checked us in (or so she thought). My friend found out that evening, and spent a while on the phone trying to get a refund for us, and have them charge her card, per the hotel's original agreement. Breakfast was expensive and not included. They didn't even offer to give us a breakfast coupon because of the inconvenience we endured. Upon my arrival and a little confusion with booking, me and my Soldiers were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The rooms were very clean, more than amply sized. The bed had pillows and a mattress that made it feel as if I never left my tempurpedic at home. Being gone most normal hours and always on the go, we were appreciative of the conveniences that this Holliday Inn offers such as the Keurig coffee maker in each room. I travel for business and come to the area about once every 4 to 6 weeks on average. This is my go-to hotel. That staff is great. They are always polite and professional. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hotel has a restaurant, and there is a Golden Corral across the parking lot. The lounge is nice. I watch games there on occasion. They have a pretty good selection of TV channels. The bathroom is clean. The coffee is strong. Noon checkout. They don't take all day long to clean rooms, so if I get done early in the field I can come back to my room and work undisturbed. read more

The staff helped us set up; had many helpful suggestions, and loaned us tables and audio visual equipment. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful; also, reasonably priced.
