Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. I've used them for 18 months or…read moreso and been very happy but during this past weekend while boarding, my male dog had a medical issue and the folks at Yepes called me promptly and after I asked them to take him to the vet they called around to find a vet that would see him on a weekend day (an emergency vet was an option but due to their efforts we were able to avoid that). They took him to the vet, picked him up afterwards and administered all medications and cared for him according to the vet's instructions until family could pick him up for me the next day. We recently adopted a young kitten who needed a spay, and went to what had been our regular vet for over 5 years (Kings Crossing Animal Hospital) for this service. Previously I had always thought their prices were on the upper end, but was generally OK with it as this is a city vet in an upper end suburb. But total costs of near $600 (bloodwork that is unnecessary for a spay, the procedure itself, and a special spay consult) is just too much. Especially as an estimate was not provided at any time prior to the drop off on the actual surgery day (Seriously, it was not shared at the "Spay Consult"). Oh, and lets push a special "Laser" procedure that will "help speed recovery" for another $60 at the time of drop off as well to add further pressure on a pet owner just trying to do the right thing caring for their pet while controlling the pet population. Do yourself a favor and shop around - there are a lot of services and groups (let alone other veterinary practices) that provide low cost spays and neuters for your cats at much more affordable prices. What Kings Crossing is charging is excessive for what is in effect a routine procedure, and they don't share the costs until it is practically too late.

She is always excited when I drop her off and always seems to have had a great time when I pick her up. The groomer did a great job too giving her a haircut and bath. One of the things I really appreciate is that they send several pictures throughout the day, and in each of them she always looks like she's having a blast. I love that she is outside most of the day, being able to run around in the grass. Not sure in an indoor pen or on turf. The staff are all super friendly and you can tell they all really love the animals in their care. Would highly recommend!
