I went here through a living social deal and Nona was very accommodating with the scheduling. She said that as long as I book the appointment before the expiration day, the deal will still count, even if the actual treatment is way later. First let me start off by saying, like you might have gathered already, that this is a one woman show. Keep that in mind when you want to book an appointment for more than one person at a time. She can only treat one person at a time. In Sept. 2010, I purchased a gift certificate from Livingsocial.com for a 30 minute facial and a 45 minute massage at Holistic by Nona. I paid $67, which seemed like a good deal. I checked out the yelp reviews online and they looked really good. The expiration date for the cert was 2/20/11. On Feb 7, I called Nona to schedule an appointment for my treatments. She informed me that since I (and many others) had waited until the 'last minute' to redeem the cert, she had no available times before the expiration date of Feb 20, but was extending it into March. However, she was offering only a one hour massage or facial..........my choice. She absolutely refused to honor the certificate for the treatments I purchased and was pretty pushy about it. I forwarded my comments/complaint to LivingSocial, and they cheerfully gave me a refund. (They are wonderful, and this is the only problem I've had with their service) read more

I just went to Nona a few days ago. I've now been to her a few times. Wow. I feel and look great. She tinted and waxed my brows, tinted my lashes and I received a massage from her a couple of months ago from her. This lady is real and authentic. She is professional and polite. And you know what? She is one of the few people in the facial and massage industry that is not sugar-coating the way she speaks to you. I feel like she would be totally honest with me if I asked her a question. And she would not be mean or rude at all, she would just be honest. In this town, we need that! Her sweet dog is a quiet, big, lump of love. If you are not a dog person, that's fine. I'm actually not really a dog person myself, but this dog is quiet, sweet and has personality. And he sits in the other room, so you don't have to worry about him getting in the way. And, the last time I was there, he wasn't, so it seems to be inconsistent when the doggy is there. Her room is warm, inviting, quiet and feels safe and also clean. I feel healed anytime to go to her. If you're one of the sniveling, stuck-up knuckleheads that got the sweet deal from Living Social and you are complaining, you have GOT to be a complete fool. If you want to complain that you didnt get your money's worth from the living social deal, it just shows what type of person you are in the first place. A cheap, P.O.S. who is most likely never satisfied with anything. Get a life. You already got a great deal and it's people like you who make places like this STOP giving deals. I think I have been going to Nona for 3 or 4 years now. I go for the bikini wax every 4 or 5 weeks, and occasionally I get my eyebrows done as well. I must say, she does a wonderful job! The wax is always fast, easy, CLEAN, and thorough. Also, I have noticed that the wax she uses is amazing... it pulls the hairs right out, no breakage. It is good stuff!! I had happily set up my fiancee with a facial. While she thoroughly enjoyed the organic products used for the treatment, neither of us will be returning for the following reasons: - Nona's website lists the treatment I was going to be paying for to be $95, but on Tuesday's it must be $110? She said: "oh, today it's $110" - there's a machine that helps open your pores, perhaps it heats the towel (i don't know what the process is), but it was not working that day. Could she not have told us? Could she not have given us a discount? Did the extra $15 I paid go to help pay for a new machine or to repair it? - her hygiene is questionable - leaving my fiancee alone in the room with her Staffordshire was a big no no. While he's adorable and affectionate, you never know a dog can snap. And that is not the likes of a chihuahua - more like a beast. read more

I have been going to Nona for facials for a year and a half. She completely fixed my skin. My dermatologist wanted to wait a few more months before putting me on accutane, and I figured I would give facials a shot. I started seeing Nona once a month for a facial and a peel. She told me it would take a week or so after the facial before my skin started healing itself. From that first facial on, my skin started getting better. The products she recommends are amazing. She doesn't push them on you, but she should, because they freakin work. I stayed on my prescription from the dermatologist and saw Nona regularly, and now MY SKIN IS COMPLETELY CLEAR. I mean not one blemish. Nona gets so much crap out of my pores when I see her that there is no way my face is going to break out. I get one or two zits every now and then, but I am able to catch it before it becomes a problem. I was able to stop taking my prescriptions without my skin breaking out and without ever having to take accutane. The only thing I take now is birth control to keep my insane hormones from screwing everything up. I now see Nona every couple months for a facial and I couldn't be happier. My skin was so bad I would have payed any amount of money in the world to make it how it is now. Thankfully, Nona is very affordable! Her office is located in the really cute Larchmont area. It's nothing fancy, just really welcoming and comfortable, which I prefer. Nona is not all about frills or high tech machines that jack up the prices at other spas. I hate giving bad reviews - but I must. I got the LIving Social deal awhile back for a 30 min facial and 45 minute massage. The facial was fine - uncomfortable extraction process though. The massage was Horrible. Worst massage I have ever had. Ever. She talked through the entire massage and barely paid any attention to what she was doing. At one point she started working on my calves and I actually yelled out ' OW! Not good - not intuitive - not focused. Nona is truly the best. I received the living social deal as a gift from my sister 2 years ago and I haven't looked back since. Her facials have drastically improved my skin. Nona is a cool cat. Her "parlor" is on the second floor of a quaint building that also houses a coffee shop and pilates studio. The place always smells nice and is very inviting... You feel like you're at home. She's very professional and after several visits with her, I feel very comfortable with her and can talk to her about pretty much everything. I've had facials and waxing done by her. The prices are reasonable, especially for the fancy Larchmont area that she's in. I trusted her to do my pre-wedding facial. Just make sure you do it at least a few days to a week in advance! Her wax is very smooth and is relatively painless. She's easy to get a hold of. Okay, so I decided to take a chance on a coupon I received through the Internet to check out Holistic by Nona. Guess what? LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEDDDD IT! I am not normally a risk taker, but I was surprised in a good way. The outside was not a typical spa service salon, but the treatment, products used, and the character of Nona outweighed the decor of the exterior. I would rather pay the prices for the service and products used, rather than have half of that go to high rent at a shi-shi salon. If you want a straight shooter with great products, go to Nona. She is the real deal.
