The last time I brought my car in for a repair, they provided a complete diagnostic report with photos of the problem. They broke down all of their concerns along with estimates for each itemized repair. We have brought all of our vehicles in, and had nothing but great service. It's tough to get reliable auto work done in a small mountain town. But CT's has really come a long way, providing dependable repair work in a friendly atmosphere. On one of those trips, my 2013 Jeep JK's radiator basically blew up a couple of miles outside of Pagosa. I pulled into a parking lot and called AAA. While waiting for the tow truck, I needed to figure out where to take it and get it fixed quickly. I didn't want to have to stay overnight. I called my mechanic in Denver, and she recommended Best Rate Auto. I was surprised she knew anyone that far from Denver, but she had lived in this part of Colorado. When the tow truck driver arrived, he recommended the same shop, so that's where we went. I met the owner, Max, at his very busy shop at about 10am. He said he'd have a look and let me know what needed to be done. About thirty minutes later, he told me the radiator needed to be replaced and handed me a written estimate, which, based on my quick research, seemed very reasonable. He said they'd get started right away. At about noon I looked into some local hotels in case it was going to take overnight, and then I walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch. When I got back at about 1:15, Max came out to tell me it was ready. I honestly couldn't believe they were able to get the parts and complete the work that fast. I drove back to Denver over Wolf Creek Pass, and the temperature stayed in the normal range the entire trip. I can't thank Max and his crew enough. They didn't just save my day; they made my month.

They were polite and listened to what I had to say concerning why I was bringing the car in, and understood where to look for problems. They also kept me informed about the progress and made recommendations. Plus, they got the work done in a reasonable amount of time and their pricing is fair. Also, they went out of their way to pick me up and bring me back when I ended up having to get additional parts and bring the car back in a week later. Took it to Ken and told him I think a hose or clamp was bad. He said "it's your water pump" as he looked at it from a distance. Told him to please check it out. He replaced the water pump and I drove it back to the hospital. Next day, coolant levels were low again. Took it back to Ken and he said that's normal as your vehicle heats up and cools down. Headed back to Texas and had to stop every 100 miles to add coolant. This was with a wife fresh out of surgery and on oxygen. It was NOT the water pump. Took it to my local mechanic, he said it was a hose and a clamp JUST LIKE I TOLD HIM in the first place. STAY AWAY if you are from out of state. He will take advantage of you, rip you off, and leave you in a bad situation.

I was incredibly stressed and on the verge of tears when I finally got through to the shop and spoke with Bree. She was so kind, calm, and reassuring, and immediately arranged for a flatbed. Brooke, a retired police officer who is in the process of purchasing the shop, came to pick us up and brought us back to Pagosa. Before we even arrived, he had already identified the likely problem and assured us that if all of the mechanics were busy, he would repair it himself--which is exactly what he did. He was professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and immediately put our minds at ease. From start to finish, everyone went above and beyond to help us during a very stressful situation. Owners said "I didn't push the button to open the slides. You did". So now I get that bill too. There was about $2,000.00 more work to be done on my RV. I had that stopped. The owners don't see they just lost $2,000.00 today because they allow employees to park wherever they want, but I hope future sales from work too will look somewhere else.
