Turned a bike in a for a tune up plus some other fixes, including the seat. I was called and told it was ready for pickup. When I was a block away, I got another call and was told that they werent able to repair the seat of my bike. When I arrived, the owner told me that the bike was 'un-rideable', becuase they were not able to repair the seat. But in the process of trying to fix it, made the seat worse. The seat is now unusable. The owner charged me full price (well over $100) for a bike that left in worse shape, and didnt tell me until I showed up. What a ripoff. Update (after owner commented on my post) Most of my reviews for businesses are positive. I understand you don't care for this review, maybe do better. read more

Good experience here. I "walked up" to the shop the day I wanted to rent and they took good care of me. The city bike I rented was in good condition with sharp shifters and tight brakes. I gave it a good 40 mile ride from Cabrillo National Monument to Mission Bay and back to the shop and all systems worked well for the whole ride. On referral from our hotel, we rented 5 bikes from Stay Classy, and asked to fill out a form with our height and bike preferences. Delivered to our hotel door, on-time, were five great bikes, with locks and helmets, that were perfect size and in great working order. We got to spend the day on the bike-friendly streets of San Diego and went from downtown to Barrio Logan to Liberty Station and back to Gaslamp and it was FANTASTIC! After storing our bikes overnight (thank you Marriott Pulse), we met Peter in the morning where he picked up the bikes. Fair prices. Excellent service. A fantastic experience. We were originally looking to rent electric bikes, but our group size and heights made it difficult to rent any bikes! The last of several places I called recommended Stay Classy and lo and behold! Peter had bikes for our group! I asked him for recommendations for fun and scenic rides. He said that it was a short ride to the Coronado ferry and I was immediately sold. Biking around Coronado sounded perfect! We arrived at the shop and they were busy. Peter was on the phone and two other guys were working on bikes. Our 6 bikes were off to the side and I was pleasantly surprised that the bikes were clean and in pristine condition. I requested baskets for the ladies and they came in handy. They were great catch all's for our husband's jackets and misc stuff. Peter provided helmets, locks, map and instructions on how/when to shift gears. The ride to the ferry from the shop was easy because it was mostly downhill, which didn't immediately occur to me that I'd have to pedal uphill back to the shop. I will admit that I had to walk my bike up one of the hills...which any normal person could have done with some effort. I forgot my inhaler at the house, but crises was averted and I'm happy to say I got my steps in. This was the first time our group took this route to Coronado and it definitely won't be our last! I came here over the weekend to finally fix my bike I've had in storage since COVID started. I had got a flat and never went to get it fixed. Steven put air in it and told me my breaks were backwards. I paid $15 for him to change them the correct way but unfortunately the tire went flat overnight and had to come back the next day. Someone else was working then but the gentleman was also polite. He told me to come back in an hour. I believe I paid $17 and some change for the fix. He said I had glass and cactus on it. I'm assuming what gave me the flat. I don't know much about bikes but I do like riding them haha. Anyway just wanted to say thank you and I'll be back for any other issues that arise. read more

This will be my go to place for affordable and convenient bike rentals! Bike pickup and drop-off is free, which was awesome as they were able to bring a bike over to me across from the airport. Peter was so friendly and professional, and really helpful when I ended up with a flat tire. He was quick to respond and arrived within the hour with a new bike for me to swap with. The bike itself was okay, but it did the job for me to explore the area. Pricing is very good: $25/day plus $10 for each additional day. Peter at Stay Classy bikes delivered a high end Fuji endurance road bike to my hotel in Gaslamp, set up with my preferred pedals as promised, on time and with zero fuss. I was on a call in my hotel room when he delivered it and he arranged to leave it with the front desk. Moreover, it was an impossibly fair price for this service, the going rate is at least 2x. Renting a bike from Stay Classy for the three days I was in town was easily the best decision of my trip. I stayed in Bankers Hill and did rent-a-scooter (expensive, forces you to be slow in Balboa Park) to get to Stay Classy, and then used my bike to get alllllll around town (Balboa Park, Hillcrest, Old Town, Ocean Beach, Little Italy, waterfront, Chicano Park). I got a flat in Balboa Park, called them to see if I should ride over to get a fix, and they can out and traded me a fresh new ride! The basket on the bike was instrumental in having a great time and the employees are super nice. I have rented from Stay Classy a number of times now, and I've been happy every time. The bikes are clean and in excellent condition. They provide a sanitized helmet, bike lock, maps, and a small emergency tool and puncture kit. They will deliver the bike to you at no extra charge; they take great pride in delivering right on time. You can also pick up a bike at their shop. No matter if they deliver or you pick-up, they'll adjust the bike to fit. They have cruisers, road bikes, and kids bikes available, with your choice of pedal types, which is a real perk. I'm a very small woman, and I really appreciate they have bikes in my size. Their prices are better than other bike rentals in the area. And on top of all this, the guys who work there are wonderfully nice and very professional. I totally recommend them. read more

From the moment I stepped foot in Stay Classy Bikes, I knew I would be taken care of. I ended up dropping off two bikes and didn't have enough space to put both in my car upon pickup. I made a call the day after I flew in and requested the Fuji 2.1 SL for the week. A gentleman delivered it to my hotel location in Hotel Circle and set me up with a helmet flat repair kit and multi tool for adjustments and pedals specific to my cleats. The bike retails $3600 Carbon frame oval wheels and Shimano Ultegra brakes and drive train. I couldn't get over the stiffness and responsiveness and it's climbing chops. 25 miles in town and up Mt Soledad down to the beaches, the grin off my face said it all. My friends and I flew in from a few different cities to go cycling and Peter hooked us up with high quality road bikes that felt brand new. Peter set us up with three bikes, and made sure we had everything we needed for a great day in San Diego- a map with hand drawn recommended bike routes and baskets for our bikes. We called ahead to make sure he had bikes for us, and he took our height so that he could have the bikes ready when we got there. Sometimes trying out a new business or service it's hit or miss. In the case of finding Classy Bikes for my repair needs was a blessing. Tommy the lead mechanic knows his stuff and can diagnose and fix whatever is hurting your ride. What I really really like is that he explains it to you at an understandable level. In other words he doesn't talk down to his customers. He puts their worries at ease and tells you what needs to happen in order for you to get rolling again. Prices at Classy Bikes are far more reasonable than other big name shops and their turn around time is better than most.
